I was just thinking to myself that it's been a while since I last watched my Angel dvds, then realised that it's almost,a week to go,two years since Andy Hallett aka Lorne, died.Sad

So I'm going to have an Angel Marathon next week,in memory of him.Lorne was always my favourite character.

I'd love to hear from other Angel fans. I'm sure there's a few of us out there. Who were your favourite characters, favourite villains,What were your favourite quotes and episodes etc?

I am a Angel fan, I liked Spike and Angel most, wasn't fussed on Cordy but I liked her on buffy. My favetite villain was Drucilla she was just brilliant. My faverite episode was the one with Spike and the Reaper but I found the early stalker with the detchable eye and body parts freakiest.

SardineQueen · 26/03/2011 18:26

Drucilla was a brilliant character wasn't she. Buffy was just so well written. All of the back story and Spike and Dru and Angel, how Spike was so wet before he became a vampire.... All just really great stuff.

i can't remember the names of episodes but the Buffy one that I remember as being proper scary was the one where those tall men came and took everyone's voices? They sort of glided around. Proper scary stuff!

SardineQueen · 26/03/2011 18:26

Proper scary - i mean as opposed to children's IYSWIM - Buffy was always actually pretty scary and pretty grown up even though it was billed as a teen thing I thought.

'i can't remember the names of episodes but the Buffy one that I remember as being proper scary was the one where those tall men came and took everyone's voices? They sort of glided around. Proper scary stuff'

That was 'Hush'. It has to be in the top ten best episodes.

I have the box sets of both Buffy and Angel, will treasure them forever and can't wait until the DCs are old enough to watch them so I can watch them with them.

And Lorne was one of my favourite characters of all time, though it has to be said that Spike had the 'must shag before I die' factor.

brookeslay · 27/03/2011 11:12

Spike aka James Marsters will be 50 next yr ! birthday present for him pointythings great name..lol

Jaquelinehyde · 27/03/2011 11:20

I'm a huge Buffy and Angel fan and have watched every episode of both!

Lorne was an excellent character that Andy Hallett owned from the first episode he appeared in.

Jaquelinehyde · 27/03/2011 11:21

Oh and Spike Grrrrrr would I?

The answer is yes, just in case I wasn't clear enough there Grin

OMG Spike is 50???????

WHAT????

But I don't fancy older men!

I suppose I could make just one exception.

How old is David Boreanaz?

brookeslay · 27/03/2011 13:18

David is 42 in May

SardineQueen · 27/03/2011 13:27

42... 42... well I suppose that would be just about OK Grin

So Spike can be my exception

Now that's sorted, does anyone have their numbers? Grin

DH is nearly 51 so Spike would be virtually toyboy territory for me anyway...

Never really fancied David B, is that sacrilege? He was definitely bottom of the shag hit list for me on Angel.

iridium · 27/03/2011 21:05

:) at the reactions to finding out Spike's age. I remember how shocked I was when I found out when the series was on.

The thing with David B is that he looked vastly different between series 1 of Buffy and series 5 of Angel. Considering he was an immortal vampire and all.

For me, Angel jumped the shark with the Connor/Cordy storyline. I'm still not sure I ever understood what the purpose was of Cordy's storyline there and how apparently it was all meant to be from the moment she got the visions from Doyle right up to her giving birth to jasmine (the fully grown woman...) Confused

I liked episodes after that but Connor and Cordy were just - icky

CheeseEnforcementAgency · 27/03/2011 21:23

Dh is v Envy of Janes Marsters being older than him & looking so good!

Nodding with agreement through most of this, loved Angel until they took over Wolfram & Hart, never agreed with Angel & Cordy together and the whole Jasmine thing was ridiculous. Fred as Ilyria was heart-breaking.

Was totally stunned to realise Connor is Pete Campbell in Mad Men. I just didn't see it until I read it online.

Wish it hadn't been cancelled mid-season. I think it could have ended better.

Am v sad to read about Andy Hallet, I didn't know that either Sad.

wintera · 29/03/2011 22:53

"The cast changed too much. Wesley was the only character still alive by the end ffs! I like happy endings."

Wesley died first surely? Illyria turns back into Fred for a short time to comfort him as he dies.
