I don't know why I have it on. I'm usually in the kitchen fixing lunch and it's on in the background. I find the panel to be really irritating and they have some very 'traditional' views. I know the host tries to be the voice of reason but it never really works. T

Very! I posted about Kay Adams being irritating the other day. Only ever seen it about three times, but it always has the same effect: indigestion.

FrightfullyPoshFloss · 12/10/2005 20:23

I don't think Kaye Adams is often the voice of reason at all! I think this season she's trying to be more riskae. Can't stand that nasal voiced snotty Carol though. I'm sure she plays her character up to keep them wanting her back though.

QueenVictoria · 12/10/2005 20:25

I find it a little addictive. It is fascinating though because their daily topics often mirror whats gone on in MNet the night before!

DO you think she is being more riskae. Haven't watched it much before this bout of Mat leave. I know what you mean about the Carol Woman. I much prefer the Wright Stuff. Note to self -get out more!!

I actually don't mind the programme. But what I find really annoying is the difference in volume between the chatting and the audience noise! Has anyone else noticed this? I am constantly adjusting the volume by about 3 clicks every time there is any applause!

mumfor1sttime · 12/10/2005 20:34

I hate this programme!

Groggymama · 12/10/2005 21:24

hate it too, ugh

LIZS · 12/10/2005 21:31

Don't often watch it and then only in background as I MN but did catch part of it today ! I found it ironic when they were being scathing about the Girls Aloud(?) member going out with a footballer and spending her life shopping his earnings away. Er, like none of the resident presenters has dated a footballer, ridden on the back of partner's career, or been on reality tv and so on.

hunkerpumpkin · 12/10/2005 21:32

They're all vacuous bints.

Would love it if they got their topics from MN...imagine "We're all vacuous bints, discuss" being the discussion of the day!

QueenVictoria · 12/10/2005 21:56

oh please start a thread hunker

helloween · 12/10/2005 21:59

Used to like it, but I think the producers must have decided it would be much more popular if the presenters went a bit heavier on the make-up and wore evening wear and slagged each other off and made really obvious (not even slightly thought-provoking) comments ALL THE TIME. Shame really, as one or two of them are clearly very bright.

codface · 12/10/2005 22:01

i watched it years ago and cant get ove r the way they have tarted them up, kaye adams make up is like the sort they put aon a corpse
i must have watched it when i lived uin brum which was four years ago

TinyGang · 12/10/2005 22:11

Beautifully observed Cod, re the make up.

TaiTai · 12/10/2005 22:32

Er LIZS, they weren't been scathing about Cheryl from Girls Aloud marrying a footballer and spending her life shopping his earnings away, because the whole point of the discussion was a quote from Cheryl saying she wasn't going to sponge off him. And a few members of the panel said they had been supported by their man and they enjoyed it.

Today was the first time I've seen it in ages, honest! I don't mind Carol, but do find Kaye annoying and so NOT the voice of reason. The one I find really annoying though is Colleen Nolan. The mock amusing slagging eachother off really grates.

LIZS · 12/10/2005 22:36

shows how closely I was listening. Still think they are pretty shallow and hypocritical though.

auntymandy · 12/10/2005 22:38

well I like it!

weesaidie · 12/10/2005 22:44

I don't really like it but I don't mind Kaye. Also far prefer the Wright Stuff.

paolosgirl · 12/10/2005 22:49

I like it - apart from Carol whatserface. Anyone who's been married to Chris Evans should be ashamed of herself and should shut the eff up. She's not even remotely funny, or controversial.

ameli · 13/10/2005 00:12

I actually dont mind it, sometimes they are a little annnoying and look like they should be at a party! on the whole i think its funny.

codface · 13/10/2005 07:58

I ithink id be great on it ( self preening moment alert) id tell em whats what.

macwoozy · 13/10/2005 08:08

I'm obviously in the minority here but I really like the programme, I find them all quite amusing. However the long blonde haired one, I think she starred in Emmerdale, well she really gets my goat, sitting there so self righteous all the time.

Eaney · 13/10/2005 10:52

Thats the word self righteous. Maybe voice of reason wasn't the right description. It's just that when the others are voicing some 'traditional' prejudice she usually opposes them.

I think this show had a different format years ago when it had the Nadia woman who used to be on Easternders and I think it may have been BBC.

OrribleOliveoil · 13/10/2005 10:55

I like it only because it is sooooo bad. That Carol 'I was married to Chris Evans but I don't mention it. Much.' Woman.

And the one that was married to Shane Richie 'but I don't mention it at alllllllll' one.

Plop.

golds · 13/10/2005 11:02

I actually like it, but can't Stand (with a capital S) is Terri Dwyer or Claire Sweeney
