I do love her Zimbabwean accent.

BlooKangaWonders · 17/01/2011 21:45

Midwives have abandoned T &M.

Nevereatyellowsnow · 17/01/2011 21:45

Bless him he wants to help but he doesn't know what to do!

expatinscotland · 17/01/2011 21:45

I never got offered any food in labour, either.

BellaMagnificat · 17/01/2011 21:45

Oh Mrs Maxwell's just jinxed herself

practicallyimperfect · 17/01/2011 21:45

After 3 days of bloody moving about I just wanted.to lie down.

ThatVikRinA22 · 17/01/2011 21:45

this all really makes me glad i home birthed!

expatinscotland · 17/01/2011 21:45

she's in a lot of pain, t.

poor soul.

hope they get her sorted soon.

QueeferSutherland · 17/01/2011 21:46

Was that a touch of brady?

BitOfFun · 17/01/2011 21:46

I suppose she is taking the position she feels most comfortable in, but I can't believe that lying on your back has helped her progress.

AtYourCervix · 17/01/2011 21:46

hmmmm. so an epidural doesn't cross the placenta then?????

StartingAfresh · 17/01/2011 21:46

Shock at no the epidural doesn't effect the baby? Where did she do her training? GSK?

darleneconnor · 17/01/2011 21:46

now the epidural- the cascade of intervebtions continues...

I'm not happy that the midwife didnt explain any of the risks of an epidural Sad

wonderstuff · 17/01/2011 21:47

No one is even suggesting she moves off her back - now she will have epidural, odds on she has a c-section?

FanjolinaJolie · 17/01/2011 21:47

If she's on a CTG do you not have to lie down?

practicallyimperfect · 17/01/2011 21:49

I thought an epidural didn't, that's what my anaesthatist told me.

I was left alone for most of my labour, just quick checks every 20mins.

expatinscotland · 17/01/2011 21:49

This all makes me glad I went epidural for all but one, and that's because I got to hospital too late for one.

Normantebbit · 17/01/2011 21:49

I was forced to lie on my back to be monitored during induction.

The pain was incredible and after 12 hours I opted for epidural.

PigTail · 17/01/2011 21:49

"I want to go for an epidural" (In a clam voice)

(You want to go for an epidural? OK) Envy

So I know thins is edited, but in real time she would probably have to wait for the anaesthetist to finish in theatre.

And I only got an epidural after I screamed; I DON'T WANT TO FUCK AROUND ANY MORE I WANT AN EPIDURAL NOW.

FanjolinaJolie · 17/01/2011 21:50

I was left alone mostly as well. They don't have enough staff to have a midwife with you 100% of the time.

lostinwales · 17/01/2011 21:50

I remember when I was having DS3 and I was progressing oh so slowly even with +++syntocin, I said to the consultant who had just examined me after nearly 12 hours, 'well I won't get anywhere lying here, help me up' he looked so shocked! I had constant monitoring, 2xdrips and a catheter and I still managed an active labour, don't know where these women get their info from. (and I didn't even have MN then!)

AtYourCervix · 17/01/2011 21:50

should be though fanj.

MoldyWarp · 17/01/2011 21:50

Never ever had that response - when i have SCREAMED 'please please please please'

gallicgirl · 17/01/2011 21:51

OMG a midwife actually asked how the mother wanted to deliver!!

AttillaTheMum · 17/01/2011 21:51

this is quite something. Grin
