"What I find interesting is that BlueWave Communications Ltd was registered on the 25/04/2007, the day after another IoM company called BlueWave Communications was dissolved. Coincidence???

BlueWave Communications was originally registered in 2003 - when Stuart would have been 14!"

yes, I should read that too. It is a good source

His claim of never having a leg-up from his father is looking decidedly shonky.

his dad apparently has bragged (on TV last year) about how he'd never have got where he is now paying UK tax, and trying to decide whether to buy a Porsche or a Ferrari next (or something along those lines).

It's Chris that is hired I reckon. Just saw on the why I fired them programme they were sitting in the last boardroom and I reckon it was towards Chris he pointed....

I want Stella to win though, so hope she does.

Report
claig · 16/12/2010 23:45

Yes I think it's Chris too, due to Baggs backing him

Report
BaroqinAroundTheChristmasTree · 17/12/2010 00:14

even more interesting - the other director of Bluewave Communications is none other than a Miss Charlotte...........Baggs

And with regard to Vortigern...........well - it's right old family affair, started by daddy with big sister (yes the one that's a director of his company too......) and then joined in and hairbaggs himself was made a director last year (probably just before he due to film The Apprentice)

If that's what us mere mortals can pull up on him I bet there's a whole load more Hmm stuff that the BBC researchers found out Xmas Grin

They often flip the footage of the "You're Hired!" point to confuse us... (i.e. mirror-image...)

When Jamie was given his gift on Yer Fiyud - a 4 metre worktop - he said to Dara, "I bet you used a search engine".

Are they not allowed to use them on the buying task?

Report
BitOfFalalalalaa · 17/12/2010 08:58

Apparently not. They are the only 'business people' in the world left who rely on the yellow pages.

Baggs said "Everything I touch turns to sold"!

I've seen that clip about five times, and each time I thought, why is he saying "Everything I touch turns to salt?"

Lot's wife? Why is that good?

The not being able to use the net rule does make it (even more) unrealistic. I can see why they don't want them having access to outside help but someone on the show should think of a way round it.

Presumably the bookshops they were phoning and asking about the Blue Book (for example) could look it up online though?... I didn't quite get that.

IOM has a different tax system. that's why they wouldn't pay UK tax.

ah, i didn't realise they weren't native. although i believe there are strict rules overning what you have to do in order to be taxed as a manxman...

Report
BitOfFalalalalaa · 17/12/2010 14:07

Yes- you have to legally apply to be declared a Twat for tax purposes. Jeremy Clarkson lives there, you know.

Report
EdgarAleNPie · 17/12/2010 14:16

isn't one of those rules that you have to 'sever all ties'?

That's why becoming a twat helps. It effectively cuts you off from your prior life as a decent person.

Report
EdgarAleNPie · 17/12/2010 14:27

given the number of christnmas threads about family/friends being twats, where the OP still sees them anyway i v. much doubt that...

Yes, remember all those Isle of Man people who got no protection from the Bank of England when their Icelandic Savings went bust? Can't have it both ways.
