OMG, I just googled Gillian McKeith, because I don't know who she is seeing as I live abroad, and I came accross "You are what you eat".
She pounces on this gorgeous 28 year old mother, who is a bit on the heavy side, but nevertheless gorgeous, as she's trying on wedding dresses, and makes her feel like shit. The poor girl, I'm mortified for her. I can't watch, I know she's going to tell her that she's fat and ugly, and needs to get on a diet.

My granny always used to say "You could EAT off her floors".

bathbuns · 25/11/2010 13:13

I think it's interesting that the one family I know who eat a very similar diet to hers are always ill - they catch every bug going. The mother is 55 but looks ten years older and is so thin you could knock her down with a feather. Lovely family, but healthwise they look atrocious. Nothing could persuade me to follow Gillian Mckeith's advice on food. Healthy eating is great, but it's about balance.
I'm going to have to go and watch some I'm a celebrity now. She sounds fascinatingly awful in it.

BelleDameSansMerci · 25/11/2010 13:17

I think the salient point here is that if she's pregnant, some poor sod may have had sex with her...

Miggsie · 25/11/2010 13:22

It will probably be a virgin birth...so she can sell the film rights.

However, this is bordering on TV exploiting the mentally ill. However, TV producers have no shame so they'll keep on until they have to let her go.

Claiming illness as a way of getting attention is a classic narcisscist trait. My granny had heart attacks to order, particularly when the attention was not on her.

She`s no right, is she ?.

love the song.

The thing about a pregnancy is that there's a follow-up, therefore the story keeps going.

I predict it won't be kept going for 9 months, though. I predict it will be rather more short-lived than that. [cynical]

Unwind · 25/11/2010 14:03

I hope she will fess up to pulling a stunt [maybe naive]

marriednotdead · 25/11/2010 14:26

Can see the pregnancy story being dismissed as a joke.

Saw in the paper where her DD(16) is defending her and saying what an amazing mum she is.

Her DD has been home ed for the last 2 years because of bullying about mum's stool poking habits.

My sympathy is with the DD.

HouseOfBamboo · 25/11/2010 14:31

Don't think we've seen the footage where she actually says it have we?

I'm inclined to think she just wailed it out as a (not terribly funny) joke in order to get out of doing something. Boring but most likely explanation I reckon.

desiretochange · 25/11/2010 15:46

Is there any sign of a man in her life??

slug · 25/11/2010 16:41

Oh yes. She is married to an American lawyer. Hence the occasional slip in her accent and her propensity to threaten anyone who challenges her world view with a lawsuit.
