If Giles were single and Sue were straight, I'd imagine them shacked up together.

Giles has a v pretty rl wife.

We had that dinner set. Classy.

ShowOfHands · 08/11/2010 21:59

Oh lord Sue is dressed exactly as I dress in rl. Jumble sale? Pah!

CountessVonKnackerstein · 08/11/2010 22:06

How fab was that! Looking forward to next week's saga

SuePurblybilt · 08/11/2010 22:09

My dad just rang to tell me there was a woman on t'telly who looked just like me only without as many goats Confused.

sharbie · 08/11/2010 22:28

love both of them. the bread thing was just hysterical.

TrillianAstra · 08/11/2010 22:33

Making bread is hard I would only do it right if I had a scary teacher woman shouting at me - I get bored kneading and so bread like rocks is the result.

She used to be on tv but I can't remember the name of the programme. Probably 20 years ago.

The bread making made a nice contrast to Huge Farmerly Withersall's smug bread making programme last week.

Rosemary - is she one of the two fat ladies?

I thought she did some of the cooking when they did the Supersizers series?

ShowOfHands · 08/11/2010 22:51

It was Rosemary Shrager I think. Here.

Not one of the 2 Fat Ladies. They were Clarissa and Jennifer.

MollieO · 08/11/2010 22:52

No. One is dead and the other is Clarissa Dickson-Wright!

Didn't see the Supersizers.

"Clarissa Theresa Philomena Aileen Mary Josephine Agnes Elsie Trilby Louise Esmerelda Dickson Wright (born 28 June 1947) is an English celebrity chef, television personality, businesswoman and formerly a barrister, who is best known as one half, along with Jennifer Paterson, of the Two Fat Ladies. Having trained as a lawyer, Dickson Wright is the youngest woman ever to be called to the Bar"

Good lord.

MrsChemist · 08/11/2010 22:55

I've been looking forward to it since the summer, when they were tweeting about the filming.

It was ace. it made me want to have chickens. I have a huge garden. They could have a large run and be happy little chickens.

HarrietTheSpook · 08/11/2010 22:57

Giles vs Dan Stevens (of DA fame in case there are still some who don't know.) Discuss.

sharbie · 08/11/2010 22:57

Grin trilby

ShowOfHands · 08/11/2010 22:59

Downton Dan? What do you mean? Like in a fight? Dan does nowt for me. Drippy Dan.

HarrietTheSpook · 08/11/2010 23:04

Hmmm...imagining the two of them fighting. How interesting. No drippy Dan here.

clangermum · 10/11/2010 09:14

MollieO he's Hugh-inadvertently-did-a-stool in our house Grin

StayingDavidTennantsGirl · 10/11/2010 10:24

I was a little bit Hmm at the speed with which their garden grew - one minute there are a couple of beds dug over, the next, there's well grown plants there. And the chicken run and goat pen seemed to appear out of nowhere - well, the chicken run went from a wire enclosure to magically having a gate whilst they ran to the front door to let in the chicken man.

And the front garden perplexed me. Giles rotavated it, but the bed didn't seem to tally with where he had rotavated, and the progress of the plants in the front garden seemed to go backwards at least once - I think it was when the goats arrived, and as they came up the drive, it looked as if the garden was barely started, and yet earlier on we'd seen shots of it looking quite well on.

I am also hoping they will explain next week why on earth they decided to take the pigs through the house to the back garden, when the goats were able to walk round the side of the house.

But I am going to stop quibbling now, because I am actually really enjoying it - I remember loving the Good Life as a child - we all used to watch it at home, and my parents loved it too - and we did grow a lot of our own veg, and had chickens, so it is bringing back memories of childhood.

Is it wrong of me to want a patchwork skirt like Sue's?

And Rosemary Shrager used to present a programme called Rosemary Shrager Castle Cook, where people stayed at the Castle where she worked, and she taught them how to cook various dishes - a cooking school type thing.

Walters83 · 10/11/2010 10:33

I liked it, but not as much as Supersizers go... but I think I'll give it another chance next week

Giles defiantly isn't gay, he's married and expecting a baby, be interesting to see how it reacts to that...

stillfeel18inside · 10/11/2010 12:09

Rosemary Shrager is on "Ladette to Lady" isn't she, getting all the ladettes to construct a tower made of profiteroles - another great prog!

NomDePlume · 10/11/2010 16:36

Oh, I love, love the dynamic between Giles and Sue. I think they are fab pairing and I have a platonic crush on both of them. I want to be their friend [pathetic celeb hanger on]
