Awful, awful woman who seems to have hoodwinked the nation.

I don't agree with her politics or her views on abortion but I do think that she is principal led. (her principles- she wouldn't do health which is a big job as she couldn't support abortion) and honest. I think that she has integrity and that can't be said of many public figures.

vmcd28 · 06/11/2010 21:45

everything, surely the point isn't whether she's a good dancer or not, but whether she is improving. PS I missed it tonight so I don't know if she did improve!

potplant · 06/11/2010 21:51

I did laugh a lot at the paso last week but this week was the same thing. It's all a bit contrived now.

Can't wait for her to go

Well, if she didn't improve then she deserves to go.

My point was only that some of them start off as naturally brilliant dancers and others are clearly absolute beginners, but if they are improving week on week, they all have the same "right" to be there.
Being "a good dancer" is not the whole point of the programme. Eg. Chris Hollins won last year, but he was not the best dancer of the series

vmcd28 · 06/11/2010 23:47

Ps if it was only about being the best dancer, then there shouldn't be a public vote at all.
Or, in fact, any chit chat with the contestants, as their personality / how their training is going / their "journey" etc etc shouldn't come into it

knottyhair · 07/11/2010 07:48

But she HASN'T improved. She mainly just stands there whilst Anton dances round her, and occasionally drags her around a bit. Aside from the fact she is indeed an old fascist and chimes in with some inane attempt at a joke when the judges are talking. Having a go at Craig for "sitting down" for a living! I mean, Christ on a stick, he's a judge; she was meant to be doing a dance routine! Awful bloody excuse for a woman.

TimeOrPlace · 07/11/2010 07:49

she the woman who advocated chaining women to beds in labour?

turnitup · 07/11/2010 09:08

I think the routines are hilarious....keep her in I say

kreecherlivesupstairs · 07/11/2010 10:22

I watched this for the first time last night and she is awful. I really think she should resign. It makes a mockery out of those who are really trying.
I love Jimmy Mistry

belgo · 07/11/2010 10:25

Kreecher I disagree I think she is trying her best. She is better then I expected, she does at least make an effort to do the steps approximately in time.

And I'm surprised at how strong Anton is.

vmcd28 · 07/11/2010 10:53

Kreecher, as I said, if she hasn't improved then she deserves to go! I'm not defending her at all, just saying that the show is not meant to be purely about how "good" a dancer you are

Lydwatt · 07/11/2010 11:59

personally, I also think she is playing to win....I think she always does!

Can I just add at this point that my depths of depravity have not sunk so low as to actually vote for her!

OP posts:
sis · 07/11/2010 12:12

But she is so rude! She always talks over Craig and on ITT this week, she was rude to Claudia when Claudia asked her to explain the story of their paso.

She kept going on about how the judges should give her marks for remembering her steps last week and doesn't acknowledge that the execution of those steps was excruciating. Even Anton said that he had nothing more up his sleeve and doesn't know what to do - how does he choreograph a routine week after week with someone who cannot or will not dance at all?

oxocube · 07/11/2010 12:15

She is so deathly dull. Paul Daniels was voted off (rightly) as he tried but had no dancing talent. Why does 'The Nation' keep on voting in Ann? Is it because she is a larger lady and they are laughing at her? I don't think she is trying TBH and would have a lot more respect for her if she and Anton cut out the lame comedy routine and she at least gave the steps a proper go.

Agree though that its all very contrived. Shame I like watching the good dancers Confused

AitchTwoOh · 07/11/2010 12:17

she's ghastly. doesn't even try to dance, and is rude to everyone. i think the great love of the battleaxe is an english phenomenon, it's very weird.

potplant · 07/11/2010 12:25

Oh she is definitely playing to win.

Lydwatt · 07/11/2010 12:27

...and she'll NEVER resign and pull out...totally against character!

OP posts:
sharbie · 07/11/2010 12:30

she's on track to win unless they do something diff with the votes/judges

tribpot · 07/11/2010 12:41

I hope she will resign, because more talented dancers are being voted off in her favour. I think she is trying hard and in her defence, if the GBP wish to keep her in, it's hardly her fault. I don't want yet another two-person final but I'd rather that than have her in it against all reason.

potplant · 07/11/2010 12:41

How depressing if she wins and I agree she won't step down.
I think the tide will turn when someone popular and good goes. So far they gave either been similarly rubbish or just not that interesting. If Scott or matt went before her there would be uproar (mainly from me).
