yh i to think people will get fed up that's kind of what was starting to happen last year iirc

AitchTwoOh · 07/11/2010 13:30

not the GBP, i'll bet my life. the GEP.

tribpot · 07/11/2010 15:12

Does your E mean Elderly, Aitch? Ex-minister, perhaps Smile

potplant · 07/11/2010 15:14

I'm wondering the same. What's GEP?

LivinInThe80s · 07/11/2010 15:19

I can't bear her, the sooner she goes the better (although I love Anton!)

I don't understand why they got rid of the dance-off. Might aswell get rid of the judges completely, it's just a popularity contest now.

AitchTwoOh · 07/11/2010 15:23

englishers, my loves...

tribpot · 07/11/2010 16:40

Ah dear Aitch. I did think you were maybe trying to having a pop at us englishers.

So, upon what basis do you suppose Widdy's fanbase is disproportionately English? What would that signify if it were the case? Is your premise that English people are fundamentally 'daft in the noggin' as evidenced by voting for her?

Now, I would rather say that if I were a Welsh person I would much rather vote for Gethin than Gavin. Gavin seems a bit of drip. Gethin was a-maze-ING.

AitchTwoOh · 07/11/2010 17:39

i can assure you that anne widdecombe is precisely the sort of englishwoman that we really cannot abide. tory, for a start, (which is pretty much of an insurmountable one in this country), but also a bad sport pretending to be a good one, entitled and rude, all that stuff. there is this baffling tradition of the english battleaxe as loveable comedy figure, i can't really think that we have it. we just see them for the hideous auld witches that they are. Grin

and yes, i don't get the gav thing either, particularly. gethin was lovely. i don't get the national vote thing particularly either (), i'd rather vote for the best dancer/trier, but apparently widdecombe is storming it at the moment and she is utterly shit and not a good egg at all.

the way things are going at the moment - with the backlash against all the reality shows - Ann will win this and Wagner will win X Factor.

Lydwatt · 07/11/2010 19:54

dam, dam, dam!!

She's still in it!!!!

I'll havve to endure another week of finding her amusing and enjoyable to watch

I don't think I can take it Confused

I remember Anne Widdecombe, when she was a minister when the last lot of Conservatives were in power advocating prisoners in labour in hospital being handcuffed to the bed. I have disliked her very much ever since

AitchTwoOh · 07/11/2010 20:13

oh no poor jimi, he was absolutely adorable.
