Every mothers nightmare if you ask me, when you have children of the age to drink you will understand what goes through your head when they come home.

  1. There home safe "thank god"
  2. There in their bed
  3. What if they choke in their sleep?

NIGHTMARE ... believe me
From a mum who has thought all these things

Bomper · 11/10/2010 21:45

I thought it was very well acted, I think making Billie really look as if he had been dead for 12 hours would have been a bit much for a 7.30 soap!!! Hmm

8rubberduckies · 11/10/2010 21:54

My God I used to have a heart of reinforced concrete before I was pg with DS and scoff at anyone who cried at anything as silly as the bloody telly, but I turn into a gibbering wreck at everything and anything now. Show me a picture of a sad kitten and I'll be signed off work for days.

Bawled my eyes out Blush.

ThighsWideShut · 11/10/2010 21:54

fin54 I totally understand now, when my mum used to wait up when we went out as teens/youngsters.

I get palpitations when I send DS to go put the rubbish out!!

Phew not just me then! Blush Remember mocking xh for crying at Mark Fowler's funeral years ago but seriously upset by this and the fire episode. Must be a Mum thing!

TethHearseEnd · 11/10/2010 22:06

Well I for one am comforted by the fact that there are no longer two Billys in Albert Square.

It was far too confusing.

ChickensHaveNoEyebrows · 11/10/2010 22:12

I bawled. That sense of unreality, the dithering, the shock....very well done :(

Pennies · 11/10/2010 22:35

I thought it was excellent and the use of sound (or rather lack of it in key bits) really heightened the emotion.

Alambil · 11/10/2010 23:00

surely he wasn't dead 12 hours if whatsit had heard him snoring at 2am and Carol was not long in work at 9am when she came home...? or wasn't that bit til the afternoon?

I thought it was done well; Bianca's reaction got me the most

LynetteScavo · 12/10/2010 09:54

Mark Fowler dying was the saddest thing EVER! And we didn't even get to see him die, just the funeral.

I blubbed for two consecutive evenings, and DH started to despair saying "It's not real you' know...they're actors"

Anyway, I digress. Did anyone else notice how easily they got Billy's body out through Pats hallway? I mean, it's quite a small terraced house, and I would have thought they would have had a bit of difficulty getting billy out, but no, the hall seemed to expand width ways. Hmm

FindingMyMojo · 12/10/2010 10:25

Well it came a surprise to me & I thought all the major storylines were leaked. I had no idea - total shock. I thought it was quite well done - they used the silences really well. Poor Carol - can something good happen to her now? Maybe tasty Alan will come back into her life???

FindingMyMojo · 12/10/2010 10:27

oh & then ending when Carol just sat there with the photo of her baby - little boy Billy with all that curly hair - made me a little teary.

hollyoaks · 12/10/2010 10:36

I thought it was really well done, I've been in a similar(ish) situation and the sense of unreality and confusion was done really well. That walk from the bookies to her house was spot on.

I was holding it together until dh mentioned that it was lucky the hallway was wide enough to pivot the body out, like Lynette said, and that they'd struggle to get someone out of here. Then I started to really well up. Confused

Findingmymojo when that bit was on dh was commenting on how dirty the chair that she was sat on was and the statue's bum behind her. :o

LynetteScavo · 12/10/2010 10:47

I've heard Alan is coming back.

2bloodyshoes · 12/10/2010 11:37

be honest though, was I alone in thinking that when they shut the lounge door, the actor jumped up onto the trolley?

HowToShoutSoHusbandsWillListen · 12/10/2010 11:41

2shoes I'm sure Eastenders is all about the method acting and the actor stayed still for the whole shoot Grin

I was surprised at the length of the scene in the living room. Was quite harrowing. I assume that level of detail was justified by the BBC because the storyline is considered educational about the dangers of binge drinking.

2bloodyshoes · 12/10/2010 11:42

i thought Laurens reaction was good, cos most teens don't know how to react

Lpsmum · 12/10/2010 12:08

Why did he have a photo of himself as a youngster in his own wallet?? Hmm

PictureThis · 12/10/2010 12:34

Well I've just watched this and I bawled, esp when she was saying "Not my little one" and kissing him. So well acted

WhyMeWhyNot · 12/10/2010 13:19

Lpsmum Carol had given him the wallet for his birthday and she'd put the photo inside and had written something sentimental to him on the back. Brill acting from Patsy, being pregnant herself at the moment she'd have got emotional really easily.

Blondeshavemorefun · 12/10/2010 13:43

no i didnt cry at billys death last night

but

i did cry when wellard died :( that really got to me

did his liver pack up or did he die from being sick etc

from what i rem, he was drinking beer, then downed half a bottle of neat vodka (hard for an average person to do - neat is rank) and then seen dancing with a whiskey bottle

SF, sorry for your loss :(

tefal · 12/10/2010 13:54

Alan is back at the end of the week. Same actor!

Blondeshavemorefun · 12/10/2010 14:33

fab, i always thought alan was a saint to put up with carol

kittya · 12/10/2010 14:48

I hardly ever watch it because its so miserable, give me Corrie anyday. I stumbled over it on my skyplus just now and bawled all the way through it. I thought the acting and the timing was spot on. Bianca especially.

Talking of Bianca are they going to get her to 9 months do you think? shes massive already, I wonder how she is going to go out of it? They couldve used it in the storyline, for a change. I cant bear it when the actress is pregnant in rl, I cant stop looking at their bumps!!

potplant · 12/10/2010 14:53

I wasn't bawling - quite glad to see the back of him really! I hated all the 'my crew' nonesense he brought with him.

Bianca and Carol were fab though.

Kittya - I didn't notice her bump last night, I couldn't take my eyes of the orange leggings she was wearing.
