Starts on Saturday!!
I can't find any contestant rumours other than Goldie, does anyone know of any?
Is Alesha back? can only find articles about her not signed contract yet.
No results show apparantly and new format for voting, can't wait - Winter is here.

Put me more in mind of Cheryl Cole, actually - complete with bad miming!

PumpkinsandPotPourri · 17/10/2010 19:56

Oh no, michelle and brendan. Poor Brendan.

Surely it will be Paul that goes...?

PumpkinsandPotPourri · 17/10/2010 19:57

Whatswrong - thought about Cheryl cole too. All the military gear and jerky dancing

DinahRod · 17/10/2010 19:57

Wish they had the dance off still decided by the judges.

Yay, Iain next week!

HRHCavey · 17/10/2010 20:00

I said Michael Jackson, but of course I meant Janet - Rhythm Nation and all that.

[slaps palm to forehead]

I'm not disappointed that Paul has gone, he was the worst dancer on the night and that's the way it should be.

tribpot · 17/10/2010 20:04

I do so hope they told Brendan in advance he wasn't going to go - whilst I'm sure the stress would have been minor in comparison, why put the poor bugger through it? Watching the results show with prior knowledge, I'm sure he did know. Paul, I think, did not, and seemed genuinely upset that he might be adding to Brendan's burden.

I'm sure Len is right and lower heels will help Michelle. Ian is such a love, but a change of dancer at this stage - with her confidence levels - could be difficult. Wishing them, and Brendan, all the best for next week.

HRHCavey · 17/10/2010 20:15

I don't think Brendan told anyone about his father's death until after the show last night. It will have been hard enough to go on as it is without everyone coming up to him and offering condolences.

LoveTheCarbs · 17/10/2010 20:40

Poor Brendan, that's why he was looking so uncomfortable last night.

Paul was the right person to go. Bring on next weekend, I wonder what the dances will be..

TigersChick · 17/10/2010 20:44

I agree, HRHCavey. I don't think anyone knew until after filming. He wouldn't want to put Michelle through that pressure and it'd be a risk telling anyone in case it got back to her. (I'm not a huge fan of his but I do think he's got more of a compassionate side than he likes to let on)

I'm really pleased that Paul has gone. I think that he was the poorest dancer and I don't think he has shown any improvement over the last 3 weeks. I know that Anne is no Ginger Rogers but at least she is making some steps towards dancing!!

I think that Michelle will be safe next week, however she does, as people won't want to see her leave without Brendan ... it's the whole 'who is the bigger celebrity: the professional dancer or the celebrity' argument again...

potplant · 17/10/2010 20:52

Mrs VincentPrice - I'm a very bad person too as my first thought was woo woo Ian's back.

(sad for Brendan too)

thelunar66 · 17/10/2010 21:03

Glad Paul went tonight. He looked very tired. I think he was glad it was over to be honest.

MrsKitty · 17/10/2010 21:40

Pro dances tonight were great. No dance troupe though - what's that about?

Sad news for Brendan. Well done to him for going on last night.

Agree with TigersChick - Michelle will likely stay next week.

Paul Daniels, whilst he didn't annoy me as much as I thought he might, had been on long enough for me, so I'm pleased with the result.

anonymousbrainsnatcher · 17/10/2010 21:46

Sorry for Brendan, but Michelle has to go. Dancing is poor and zero personality. Touch and go between her and Glumvin for me... happy to see either go next week.

Peter Andre was purely comical (god, what decade does he think we are in?!)

Sorry, in a funny sort of way Hmm to see Paul go, but he probably was all round the next one out.

RarrHumbug · 17/10/2010 23:17

Can someone explain th format this year?

Is the Satuarday show live and the Sunday show recorded straight after?

Thanks

DoNotFeedMeBiscuits · 17/10/2010 23:39

Does anyone know why there was no pro-dance troupe this week - surely they should have been doing the Charleston not hte competing pros. Confused have they axed them already?

tefal · 18/10/2010 18:15

Brendan has pulled out for at least a week to come to terms with the death of his father. Michelle will be partnered by Ian Waite in the meantime.

HRHCavey · 19/10/2010 07:51

I imagine it will be at least 2 weeks before Brendan is back. He has the funeral to attend and will want to spend time with his family.
As for the dancing, most of the pros will be choreographing 2 weeks ahead of themselves. What you don't see in rehearsal is that the Celebs will usually be learning 2 dances every week. They only actually get 5 (sometimes only 4 days) per week to rehearse as Fridays and Saturdays are taken up with live show rehearsal. The reality is that if you don't know your routine by the Tuesday before you dance it you're pretty screwed as you need a few days to polish and refine it!
It makes sense to introduce a second dance towards the end of each week - hence why Ann keeps making reference to how bad her next dance always is!

extremelychocolateymilkroll · 19/10/2010 14:32

I heard a brief clip on the radio of one of the choreographers being interviewed. Does anyone know if the pro dancers have help with the choreography for the dances with the celebs? I thought the pros did all the choreography themselves - they always give the impression they do it all themselves.

HRH - love to read your comments. It's like having our own qualified MN judge.

potplant · 19/10/2010 15:20

I think they do have help with some of the dances they aren't familiar with. they had someone in for the Lindy Hop (??) last year. I also remember James helping Ola with Chris last year as well.
For the basic dances they probably do it all themselves though.

MrsVincentPrice · 19/10/2010 15:21

It's Charleston next week, which is non-standard, so they probably would have help for that.
Vincent and Flavia help the others with the Argentine Tango as well I think.

HRHCavey · 19/10/2010 18:00

Yes they do have extra choreographers - my dance teacher knows one of them [egrin]
His name is Richard Marcel, he does a lot of the routines, particularly Salsa which is his specialty. He also did Matt & Alesha's Show Dance.
Chris Marques and Jacqui (forgot her surname) have helped with the salsa for several years and also did last year's group Mambo and Merengue routines.

I think they all help each other out though, particularly the pro partners that have been voted off.

mrswoodentop · 20/10/2010 20:25

Very sad for Brendan, not a particular fan of his but horrible for him. Can't stand the girl he is paired with though whine whine whine all the time ,and she takes all the judges comments as if they are personal attacks ,there doesn't seem to be any hint of joy or a sense of humour in her .

Interestingly she may be better with Ian ,more steady perhaps, anyway I would be pleased to see her go I feel embarassed for her not because of her dancing but her spoilt child behaviour .

Oh dear that was a bit of a rant ,but go Matt !!and Pam ,want to like Felicity but finding it hard

Itsjustafleshwound · 21/10/2010 11:06

I must admit that Ian looks like he is a better partner for Michelle than Brendan ....
