I'm feeling nostalgic and trying to remember shows that I loved as a child/teen.

What were your favourite programmes? I'm not looking for children's programmes but soaps, comedies, dramas, gameshows etc.

Cracker was indeed amazing but come on, Panhandle was fairly pathetic. The rapist episode was total grimlocks though - FallingWithStyle, twas indeed the same one.

LTBR, don't get me started on Buffy! I still love it now, in fact I whiled away a shower yesterday by trying to remember word-for-word the scene in series 6 where she tells Spike where she's really been (:().

angelene · 23/08/2010 20:46

Oh Press Gang. Utterly amazing.

Bizarrely, I saw an ep of that when I was in Australia a few months ago, it is still fantastic. Just shows how good writing will never date.

cyteen · 23/08/2010 20:46

Same episode of Cracker I mean, not same rapist.

PaulineCampbellJones · 23/08/2010 20:55

Vic Reeves Big Night Out was one of my absolute favourites!

I forgot 999. I watched that every week. I couldn't wait for the next episode.

It had one of the scariest themes ever.

Anyone remember 'The Cook report'? we used to love watching that.

Loved 999 and Cracker (shame Christopher Ecclestone was killed off in the 1st series)

Loved 'Our friends in the North' as well (Poshpaws senses a theme, here...)

DuncanDisorderly · 24/08/2010 12:44

Am I the only person who loved Quantum Leap? I've never met anyone else who has ever watched it.

LetThereBeRock · 24/08/2010 13:23

I loved The Cook Report. I watched it every week with my parents, perhaps not the most suitable viewing for me,but I loved it.

I watched Quantum Leap too. Did he ever make it back?

Robin of Sherwood - music from Clannad and Michael Praed - unlikely winning combination, but it was great.

LetThereBeRock · 24/08/2010 13:53

How could I forget Father Ted? It was genius.

FreeButtonBee · 24/08/2010 13:59

My so called life with Clare Danes and Jared Leto (). God, I loved that show and my entire teenaged years were obsessd with it! I think I dyed my hair red because of that show, now that I think about it! Also wore alot of over-sized mud coloured jumpers and DM boots...

LetThereBeRock · 24/08/2010 20:40

I'll have to admit to enjoying Challenge Anneka,if anyone remembers that. Though in my defence I was a young child at the time.

Londons Burning (at least is available on DVD. Try Amazon!

hollyoaks · 29/08/2010 14:50

I loved Quantum leap, I'm sure it was on the same night as early Friends and Frasier.

What about The Generation Game, Big Break, Clarissa Explains It All, London's Burning.

does anyone remember The Kids of Degrassi Street, and Degrassi Junior High? I loved those, although I do remember our school trying to stop up from watching it (along with Grange Hill) - saying it was a bad influenceHmm

flier · 29/08/2010 15:43

I remember the kids of degrassi street, loved that Smile

Our family favourites were Metal Mickey, Super Gran, Dick Turpin, and The Cosby Show

Now going to read the thread and reminisce Smile

MrsMikeDelfino · 07/08/2014 22:23

Yeah, yeah this is a zombie thread...sorrreeee! (The best kind though as old programme reminiscing is ALWAYS relevant! Grin
I just had to answer this (albeit a few years late, so hope you're still kicking about here!)
I watched Quantum Leap too. Did he ever make it back?

No. Sad He didn't. In the last episode he could have gone back, but he decided to stay and put right a wrong for Al instead, and thus doing so made sure he could never get back.
Sad
