  1. And then I have to collect DS2 from nursery at 12.30. So if it's after that I guess i could maybe swing by, if people are bringing LOs. I will worry about my shoes though, seeing as it's you, the Maven of Kelvinside.
Aitch · 11/08/2010 23:38

me? i will likely be in gutties.

Aitch · 11/08/2010 23:39

(tbh i suspect most of us know each other anyway and it'll be a big 'oh it's YOU' reveal.)

midnightexpress · 11/08/2010 23:41

Oh I don't know anybody. I barely get beyond the end of the road most weeks.

midnightexpress · 11/08/2010 23:42

Thouhg that would be v funny.

Hazeyjane · 12/08/2010 10:39

KELLY MONTEITH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had completely erased him from my memory.

I remember he used to seem strange and exotic!

DalkeyGirl · 16/08/2010 13:15

Hi,
Check this on Youtube, it's a new clip from Simon Amstell?s debut stand-up DVD, Do Nothing Live.

It's released in November and you can pre-order a copy of the DVD at:

fartmeistergeneral · 16/08/2010 13:22

Checked out that Kelly Monteith clip (memories of that face!!) and he keeps going on about some film called a Lousy 10 Grand - don't remember that at all. Remind me what the Kelly Monteith show was? Sketches?

Aitch · 16/08/2010 17:05

well i think he did sketches, but i'm sure i remember a more knowing, post-modern thing that he did, where he spoke to the camera. but i can't see mention of it on his site so i may be getting him mixed up with shelley. Grin

fartmeistergeneral · 16/08/2010 19:09

Shelley and Kelly! Memories!

Hazeyjane · 17/08/2010 08:15

no you're right aitch.

i remember him being the first of a very particular type of american comedian on mainstream tv - was it terry wogan that he started on?

gawd, shelley was very depressing and beige.

does anyone remember 'agony' with maureen lipman?

fartmeistergeneral · 17/08/2010 10:10

Agoneeeeee,eeeeeeee

Aitch · 17/08/2010 10:10

i LOVED that. her MOTHER!

Heathcliffscathy · 06/09/2010 22:30

STUPENDOUS tonight.

fantastic landmark forum intentions ending up in total debacle.

MaryAnnSingleton · 07/09/2010 15:59

was excellent ! and yes, I remember Agony- was her mum Maria Charles ? she played most jewish mothers on telly

MuffinToptheMule · 08/09/2010 09:49

Didn't realise this thread was here. I've watched all the episodes on iPlayer. Grandma's house is absolutely brilliant. I met Simon Amstell once and he really is awkward.

anonacfr · 08/09/2010 10:08

Last episode was brilliant. The mum's comments about her sex life just cracked me up.

EleFunTess · 08/09/2010 22:01

Only just found this thread. I've stuck with Grandma's House and am really enjoying it. It gets better with each episode. His mum is a genius character.

I did Landmark a few years ago (don't ask!) and last night's episode had me in hysterics.

Heathcliffscathy · 13/09/2010 22:05

on now!

UnrequitedSkink · 13/09/2010 23:17

Just found this thread - apart from Rev (also comedy gold) I think this has been the funniest new comedy on TV in aeons! Gutted it was the last one tonight, I hope it's recomissioned.

fartmeistergeneral · 16/09/2010 22:53

Hmm, I've watched them all and I don't know, i find it all unbearably awkward. Also, it's such an honest reflection on Simon's life and his feelings, I really feel for him!!! Hope he's oK......!

UnePrune · 16/09/2010 23:02

But how can you know it's an honest reflection of him?
Surely he's not written himself exactly - surely the character is an exaggeration??

fartmeistergeneral · 17/09/2010 10:00

Yes, probably exaggerated, true, but it just seemed he was writing about his own life. Leaving Buzzcocks, then that episode where they kept going on about how when he was young he wanted to be famous and they were sitting watching videos of him as a child performing and he was standing at the doorway cringing saying 'was that what I was really like?'. You know how he was on tv quite a few times as a child, and I just wondered if he was quite fame-hungry as a child and now he's got it he's wondering 'is this really what I want?'.

Got to stop thinking so much about things!
