I'm getting ready to write a letter complaining about it before I've even seen it. Apparently it helps people whose babies don't sleep through at night

i would but i'm in the cuddle to sleep camp and don't think i can bear to watch children being left to cry

Scaredycat3000 · 03/08/2010 19:44

I'm crossing my fingers hoping for some real help, but I'm expecting CIO v's CC

Scaredycat3000 · 03/08/2010 19:46

Do you think they might start with a tip on how to get your LO to sleep though the programme, so you can actually watch it, other than 'just let them cry'?

Chunkamatic · 03/08/2010 19:56

Is it about small babies though, or young children with specific problems? My synopsis on Sky+ makes it sound like the latter.

choufleur · 03/08/2010 20:18

I just hope they have better "experts" than that awful programme they did a few years ago about different child rearing methods.

no but i know how draining it is to have a child that won't sleep, ds(16) was a nightmare and i might have tried cc if i knew it existed at the time! may have saved a few years angst

choufleur · 03/08/2010 20:22

So do I - Ds didn't sleep through til 2 1/2 and then would wake stupidly early. It's a myth that all children sleep 7-7 at a very early age.

choufleur are you me?

I read in some paper that Chireal Shallow is one of the experts. She actually helped me do some really gentle sleep training with DS1 over 3 years ago and was really sympathetic, gentle and sensible - am hoping she comes across like that on screen too.

Also read that the other expert is Alison Scott-Wright (or Wright-Scott?). Should be interesting...

sailorsgal · 03/08/2010 21:02

not ASW. She is quite hard core. Watering down feeds.

poppy34 · 03/08/2010 21:02

sat down now and ready to watch but thing it will be a cc v. cio fest.

poppy34 · 03/08/2010 21:04

6 of the most sleep deprived families... 'kin hell that is likely to upset a few on here...

giraffesCanDanceInTheSun · 03/08/2010 21:04

am watching...

kveta · 03/08/2010 21:06

I'm watching after DP has had to take over bed time for the umpteenth night in a row after DS bit me again

MassiveBumperlicious · 03/08/2010 21:06

I'm not going to watch, but I hope that one of the main points is that babies aren't supposed to sleep through the night. I understand the torture of having toddlers who don't sleep, must be an absolute night mare. But little babies do wake up and often need feeding or comforting.

Jux · 03/08/2010 21:07

DD has just been rude to the woman with the straggly hair. She is very cross and says "children are not puppies".

sailorsgal · 03/08/2010 21:09

I just find it shocking that they charge £600 a day.

dustycups · 03/08/2010 21:09

this aint even about helping these families otherwise they would help them all
its just two experts looking for a ego boost!!

Ineedsomesleep · 03/08/2010 21:10

Oh Feck, don't even get me started.

Think DH must have seen it in the tv planner because he voluteered to drive to Bristol and back today with work.

raindroprhyme · 03/08/2010 21:10

children are like puppies i hate her already

tibni · 03/08/2010 21:14

Watching - not sure why.

ds (severe ASD) doesn't sleep. We have had expert disability nurses, plans and programmes and now melatonin, a natural sedative, but nothing can change the fact that ds does not need much sleep.

nasdaq · 03/08/2010 21:16

I want to know if they have black out blinds...that is key.

poppy34 · 03/08/2010 21:17

agree bumperlicious - I find one thing not to sleep for more than an hour but once I let go of expectation that kids would do what they said within the books it was a lot easier.

and I already know chireal approach more my thing - but isnt that the way with almost any of these baby/children methods ?

Poshwellies · 03/08/2010 21:17

20 months old and doesn't sleep?

Try fecking 7.5 years and I can count on one hand how many full nights sleep ds has had.

This programme is NOT what I thought it would be.I thought it was going to be proper medical experts from sleep clinics

nasdaq · 03/08/2010 21:18

Alison does not look like she has enough sleep herself...check out the bags under her eyes...
