I'm getting ready to write a letter complaining about it before I've even seen it. Apparently it helps people whose babies don't sleep through at night

rokersmum · 03/08/2010 21:34

nasdaq · 03/08/2010 21:35

that is bloody awful separating the mum - is this the nice one??

nasdaq · 03/08/2010 21:36

oh rokersmum - you have got it exactly - what was that all about??

BellevilleRendezvous · 03/08/2010 21:36

but can you imagine poor nervy knackered Steph if Alison turned up barking orders? she needs the soothing lights and music!

NanBullen · 03/08/2010 21:36

so he's not learning to go to sleep on his own! how does that help him?

tsk

tibni · 03/08/2010 21:37

I guess she is trying to reduce the parents anxiety???

NanBullen · 03/08/2010 21:37

I mean indi not the twin.

sailorsgal · 03/08/2010 21:37

Wouldn't they still need a nap?

giraffesCanDanceInTheSun · 03/08/2010 21:38

LOL at bedroom called boaby - thats what is called a penis up here, never heard that before

wrinklyraisin · 03/08/2010 21:38

I would have thought the twins would still need a nap! They are only teeny still! Alison is scary.

undercovamutha · 03/08/2010 21:39

I just feel sorry for both sets of kids.

One mum gives them a drink of milk up to 5 times a night/whenever they wake, and then wonders why they wake up in the night.

The other mum wants to have a good nights sleep, although also wants her DS to wake up and keep her company in bed.

And the kids are the ones who now have to be sorted out!!!!

Poshwellies · 03/08/2010 21:39

ineedsomesleep-he will sit in his room reading or playing (quietly) with his lego,on a good night he crashes out at 10pm but will wake and be in our bed at 2/3/4am.

He has been diagnosed with OCD and a possibility of high functioning aspergers (CAMHS),ocd seems to have calmed down at the mo ,we just accept it after nearly 8 years.

NanBullen · 03/08/2010 21:39

chirelle is just doing what alison is doing but just really drawing it out. why? Why prolong the agony?

undercovamutha · 03/08/2010 21:41

we call bed 'boboes' .

But in my defence I know quite a few other parents who do as well - maybe its a regional thing!

nasdaq · 03/08/2010 21:41

Yep I can not see any difference between both methods.

Surely you do not need an expert to decide if you give your child a cuddle, fgs!

Poshwellies · 03/08/2010 21:41

Agree with the thyroid comment AF,blimey

kveta · 03/08/2010 21:41

would be interesting to see what they would do with a co-sleeping/breastfed baby!

AnyFucker · 03/08/2010 21:42

the lady with just one child deffo needs a thyroid test

LadyBlaBlah · 03/08/2010 21:42

Why do they never put covers on him?

mrsjuan · 03/08/2010 21:42

I don't understand how a 'gentle' method can involve over an hour of tears?

poppy34 · 03/08/2010 21:42

yep undercovermotha...that is true.and agree re thyroid test

nasdaq · 03/08/2010 21:42

excellent point kveta - this show is pants!

rokersmum · 03/08/2010 21:43

bascially shows both methods are distressing ... one is crying with no parents in the room and the other is crying with parents in the room ...

sailorsgal · 03/08/2010 21:43

I'm a bit at "their methods". These methods have been around for years
