My daughter has asked to go to a 16 birthday party . My daughters just 15 year below at school the girls who’s party it is . I have never met the girl or had contact with mum. Don’t know where she lives. I asked my daughter if she could get the mind phone number just so I can relay my number if needed and address. My daughter said no it’s embarrassing. So i have said she can’t go. She then said her other friend mum know her so I said I will text and get the number. She said don’t bother. I don’t want to be over bearing but I am not letting her go with basic information

Images of OP haunting uni halls in a few years asking for names and numbers 🤣

That’s a shitty unfair comment,
Wanting to know the basic details of where a party is and who is hosting it before letting a 15 year old go is perfectly fine. We don’t all live in lovely safe areas!

Agreed.
Pretty basic parenting wouldn’t you imagine , to know where your 15 year old is & who with !
Some of the responses on here, & you’d say to yourself is it a 15 year old who is posting !!

There is no way I’d let her attend. Stand your ground - trust yourself. Good luck!

If I was hosting a party for 16 year olds I would be pleased if parents checked in with me by text ! And yes I was a very naughty 16 year old myself so definitely not too strict

Surely at 16 no teenager should be having random over? The parents will want a cap on numbers yes ? So nothing wrong with checking its ok

I actually remember in the dim and distant past when I was this age...the parents who were stricter and said no to random parties were basically right. No good came from us turning up at the house of a kid we didn't know wrll and weren't really invited to

Can’t wait till she goes mental at 17, seen it so many times. The caged princesses end up the worse 😂

Thank you for your thoughts but I think my daughter will be five. I’ve thing she is not a princess and is not caged.👍

What an unkind thing to say and to look forward to. Why would you wish hardship on a fellow parent?
