Dd14 has asked for perfume - I don’t have a clue!

Upcoming birthday and she’d like a nice perfume. I am not a perfume person so don’t know what’s what - she doesn’t really either! Just Miss Dior which we have established is too expensive, and she already has sol de janeiro yellow.

Anyone happy to share what’s popular with their teen or can recommend anything mid range (£30ish) that’s not too overpowering / cloying?

It would be best to take her with you to test. Perfumes smell different on different bodies (oils in skin/pheromones and such) plus it's very difficult to know what fragrance someone else will like. Then she can pick one she really loves.

& Other Stories have some beautiful scents around £29. They have great names too, like The Lost Chapter & Act One Scene Three.

I agree that a trip to the shops is the best plan - perfume is so personal & smells differently on different people. Get her to smell lots, try a few on that she likes & let them settle during the day. Then she'll probably have an answer.

Next do some lovely ones, I love the one called Paradise it's fresh and warm.

If she likes the Sol de Janeiro one she had then maybe a gift set so she can try the others?

At that age DD loved the Zara and Hollister ones.

My DD is a similar age & last year she asked for lovely by SJP. It a nice scent & lasts for ages on your skin.

My teen DD and DSs gf both wear Zara perfume a lot. They have a massive range and not a bad price.
