Where do 15/16 year old girls go shopping for clothes?

Want to get a birthday present for a family member I don't know that well. Thought maybe clothes shop voucher, but have no idea where is considered acceptable. My sons (bit younger) like bits from Uniqlo, but don't know much else and generally hate shopping. Any ideas?

Urban outfitters and Superdrug.
Or what about Costa? (or whatever is near to her)

Unexpectedlysinglemum · 20/09/2024 23:15

ASOS boohoo plt

fruitpastille · 20/09/2024 23:15

My dd wouldn't like most of the places mentioned so it really is best to check.

LettyToretto · 20/09/2024 23:16

<mourns TopShop>

fruitpastille · 20/09/2024 23:17

Amazon would be a pretty safe bet

justasmalltownmum · 20/09/2024 23:17

Zara and asos

SleepPrettyDarling · 20/09/2024 23:17

My 15yo has discovered ‘thrifting’ which means she comes home with smelly jeans and flannels that never shake off that musty smell …

Why don’t you ask her to do up a Pinterest board of looks she likes? And go from there.

thaegumathteth · 20/09/2024 23:26

Dd

White fox
Gymshark
PLT
Urban outfitters
Primark
Des vu
Adidas

It's tough though if you don't know her style. Could you give her a voucher for a Local shopping centre? A couple near us do gift cards accepted at most / all of the stores

New look.
Primark.
River Island.
Next ( teens).

Ermmm maybe 10-15 years ago 🤣

Any teens I know love White Fox, Lululemon, Aritzia, Zara, ASOS, Urban Outfitters, Ralph Lauren, Ganni, Nike/Adidas/New Balance/UGG for shoes.

@domesticslattern why do you loathe Brandy Melville?

Probably because they only sell one size that’s no bigger than UK size 6.

Will add Motel Rocks, Oh Polly, Sisters Seekers and Outcast to the list.

Pigeonqueen · 20/09/2024 23:50

I don’t think you can go wrong with Primark or Superdrug.

Agree with this^

pippapipps · 21/09/2024 00:17

My dd loves H&M for clothes, occasionally she'll go to new look as she gets jewellery in there
Primark for pyjamas and accessories

Anisty · 21/09/2024 00:21

There is a voucher card that does loads of shops - i think it might be called love2shop.

Grandma gets one of those for my 16 yr old DD and she's always happy with it.

TheaBrandt · 21/09/2024 00:23

You can’t go wrong with Boots voucher. Most are into beauty products and make up. Mine would love a Boots voucher. That would really hit - as they would say.

They're awful and pretty much impossible to spend.

Take her shopping or cash. Next would be a huge no here.

Interesting you say that - dd has had no bother spending hers. I think all the clothes shops she goes to take them and valid in most high st stores. Can use across a few stores as what's unspent gets left on the card.

I've always associated next with older age groups!

I used to HATE love to shop vouchers! Always boring places and never any of the trendier shops on there.. couldn't bring myself to buy anyone one as a gift 🤣

Tip to get rid of that musty smell

Normal Wash -
Then put in a bowl with a ‘bath bomb’

Leave in bowl over night and wash again the next morning

TheaBrandt · 21/09/2024 00:50

My teens would not be seen dead in clothes from any of those sorry.

DryBiscuit · 21/09/2024 00:53

One4all Fashion gift card - Includes lots of shops that teenagers like

I have never heard of this Brandy Melville so just looked it up
The website is so weird! It's full of models with half their head chopped off!
And then at the bottom it's selling a bottle of olive oil!!
It's so confusing!

Mummyoflittledragon · 21/09/2024 01:16

My dd is 16. She likes Zara, Bershka, Pull and Bear plus the odd thing from Urban Outfitters, Primark and Pretty Little Thing. A Superdrug voucher would be greatly appreciated. She doesn’t shop in Boots much.
