Dd ordered wine for me

Mysunshine51 · 12/10/2021 21:17

It was my birthday recently and dd15 bought me a bottle of wine - she ordered it online and ticked the “over 18” box.
She said normally she’d have asked her dad to order it (we’re separated) but as he’s moving soon didn’t want it to end up at the wrong address.
I know her heart was in the right place , just a bit cross with her for lying about her age.
I’m as sure as I can be she wouldn’t buy alcohol for herself and if she wants an occasional smell drink at home, I’m fine with it.
Any thoughts?

I can’t honestly get cross with her about that.

PotteringAlong · 12/10/2021 21:19

Say “thank you, it was a lovely thought, but don’t do it again”

Hellocatshome · 12/10/2021 21:19

Did they ask for ID when they delivered it?

user1477249785 · 12/10/2021 21:19

What a lovely thought. Be sure to say thanks!

moonshine3600 · 12/10/2021 21:20

Could think of worse things she could be doing tbh

SinnerLikeMe · 12/10/2021 21:21

It wouldn’t bother me at all.

GoodnightGrandma · 12/10/2021 21:22

It wouldn’t bother me, but then my DM used to send me to the shop for her fags !

DartmoorChef · 12/10/2021 21:23

I'm failing to really see a problem here.

Mysunshine51 · 12/10/2021 21:23

@Hellocatshome no - it was left outside on the doorstep!

Ah well thats not great in itself.

Pea22ches · 12/10/2021 21:25

Her intentions were pure so I would let her off. Enjoy your 🍷

rattlemehearties · 12/10/2021 21:26

I'd love it if my DD had the kindness and sense to do this. Not sure what the big issue is really.

Bluntness100 · 12/10/2021 21:27

I really think you’re missing the point and being deeply ungrateful.

GlitterBiscuits · 12/10/2021 21:29

Say thank you to her and mean it.

TheBlackArt · 12/10/2021 21:33

Christ, really?!

It's not like it's for her.

idontlikealdi · 12/10/2021 21:34

Unclench and say thank you?

FAQs · 12/10/2021 21:40

My dd did this at the same age for Christmas and ordered me a gift from Hotel Chocolate with a bottle of their Gin in. It was lovely.

MintyGreenDream · 12/10/2021 21:48

It was a lovely idea.I wouldn't be annoyed at ds if he did that.

Kuachui · 12/10/2021 21:49

She lied about her age on a website.. 😂😂😂😂 Unclench.. Jeesus.

If that's the problem your having with your teen then I'd call that counting stars. That's massively lucky.

FAQs · 12/10/2021 21:50

Although I get what you are saying how easy it is to order under age.

RJnomore1 · 12/10/2021 21:50

Left on the doorstep?

Where did she order it from?

Neonplant · 12/10/2021 21:51

I think there's absolutely no need to be annoyed.

Wolfiefan · 12/10/2021 21:53

Massive over reaction to start a thread about your teen trying to do something nice for you.
But you’ve started two. Weird.

Agree.

Some folks just can’t help being horrible to their kids.

Gwrach · 12/10/2021 22:11

She did a nice thing, she meant no harm.

DS7 apparently always says to nanny (my mum) when they go to the shop together "we should get mummy some wine, she would like that" or has asked "can I get mummy some flowers please" no reason, not my birthday or anything he just likes buying me wine and flowers 😂
