Handy tips from your teen (or yourself) to my teen for her first festival

She has just turned 17 and will be attending Boardmasters next week with three friends.

She has ordered a small locker, is taking a (excuse me if I have the term wrong) fanny pack / bum bag for wallet and phone, has got a solar powered phone charger, is taking a dry bag for her belongings, has a reasonable tent (Coleman Kentmere 3 plus) for her and a friend to share, has wellies (as weather is showery) and all the other bare essentials

Any tips on what to / what not to do? /take?

Many thanks

I know LimitIsUp. Rather them than me. I wouldn't be keen to sleep in a tent in that.
Dd has a portable charger and I've paid for her to get one a day there to keep charged.

She's such a light weight though and isn't too keen on camping etc. We don't live far away so her and her friends are planning on coming home for a few hours on Friday to freshen up! Grin

@LimitIsUp It's on social media it's been cancelled due to weather!!!

Dd is gutted - all packed ready to go Sad

DS2 (16) went to Truck fest last week and says:

tape to tape up your bum bag clip so no one unclips it in the mosh
Know what you want to see
Get there early for a good pitch
Cereal bars to eat
Camping chair
Bin bags
Lots of socks
loo roll
Hide your drugs in your sleeping bag (I hope that's a joke)
Big water container
Don't worry too much if your stuff gets nicked - his mate's camping chair disappeared then turned up outside the tent next door. Just don't take anything valuable.
Take a big portable charger and don't use your phone too often

Oh ok sorry it's cancelled, guess my post works for any other festival tho

It's a shocker isn't it - but apparently the camping in on cliff tops so I guess they had to make a jiudgement call

Yeah, it's all along the cliffs. I guess it wouldn't be safe for camping and the stages.
We've got a sad pile of gear on living room floor now with nowhere to go.
I think dd and friends are planning on putting tent up in our garden once worst of weather is over. Small consolation, but they can have their own party here instead.
