Christmas presents ideas for DD16

I thought, I'd start a thread where we gather different ideas for Christmas presents for older teenagers, as I usually am at a loss as to what to get my DD 16. What are you planning to surprise your teens with this year? Any great ideas are most welcome. Smile

My DDs make up mad so various Anastasia Beverley hills , MAC and too faced make up (careful if you buy from eBay as mainly counterfeit), make up brushes, a PINK lounge suit , timberland boots.

My DS 14 has asked for a customised Xbox controller. Apparently lots of the online gamers have them from this particular company. They get to go through stages online choosing the styles of the buttons colours and add ons and then it gets made to order. I do think it costs an awful lot for what it is given that when he upgrades console it prob won't work but still it costs less than his usual requests e.g actual consoles and he's so looking forward to it and I couldn't think of anything else he would be as pleased with.

I was about to share my 16 yo DDs and DS1s 18 year old girlfriends Christmas lists that they made using a Christmas list all but then I noticed they had names on.

They both just have lots of clothes, shoes, make up, girly things haha.

The girlfriend loves soap and glory as a previous poster suggested and they are both after [[https://www.unicornlashes.co.uk/collections/silk-lashes/products/pre-order-unicorn-brushes-ultimate-unicorn-kit?variant=30587926215]] make up brushes.

They're the easy ones to shop for though as they are the typical girls and they are always gushing over something and tagging each other in Facebook stuff that they like. Both DSs and DS2s girlfriend are the hard ones.

Omgkitties · 27/10/2016 22:51

SansasEscape · 28/10/2016 10:14

I've bought the 16 year old in my life an at home shellac kit Smile

Puzzledmum · 28/10/2016 14:06

At 16, mine wanted money so they could put it in the savings pot for driving lessons once they turned 17 Smile

Stocking fillers - £10 starbucks card or nandos card, portable charger, cinema voucher, bits of stationery from Tiger, new tweezers

Puzzledmum · 31/10/2016 08:40

Keep posting, guys, great ideas! So far, I am thinking the unicorn brushes, thanks for the link Itry, make up (have not yet decided which make exactly shall go for but has to be mineral, as I do not want her to damage her skin. I am also getting a straightening brush, like the Daphne one but from UK. Apparently Babyliss have just launched a new one. I also would like to get her a new perfume, anyone knows what is the new must have for teens? She also wants new clothes, so might look into getting her something or just give her vouchers.

Also the Soap and Glory stuff, looks fun! Never used any of it. This should substitute Lush or Body shop this year Wink

Following with interest as I have 2 teenagers to buy for, 1 boy, 1 girl.
One idea that I did last year was make up a hamper for DS14 full of Tango products e.g tango bodygel/soap, tango sweets, can of tango etc. I had fun scouting poundland etc. for anything Tango related. You could also do the same with Coca Cola.
Am completely stumped though this year for ideas!

babybel where did you get the customised controller? And presumably it's not a surprise then? DS15 wants a new PS4 controller but a quick google shows them costing approx £85?

Groovee · 04/11/2016 13:32

Dd wants vouchers for the places she buys make up. Not sure what else to get her as she has her birthday 4 weeks later.

Puzzledmum · 04/11/2016 21:56

It looks like it will be a make-up overload this year Grin at least it is nice and easy! I might make her up a big hamper full of make-up as one of her presents! Thanks guys, great ideas!

My DD loves anything cosy; fluffy socks, gloves, hats. Fleece blankets (you can get super Xmas/Winter themed ones). Onesies.

VagueButExcitlng · 05/11/2016 09:34

This is for her birthday tomorrow because I'm not organised enough to have bought any Christmas presents yet, but DD is getting a bubble tea kit, a smoothie maker, a Brooklyn 99 T-shirt, tickets for a gig and lush bath bombs.

I have no new ideas for Christmas so will watch this thread with interest.

Puzzledmum · 05/11/2016 12:45

Bubble tea kit - fantastic! Where did you eggy that from Vague?

OP posts:
VagueButExcitlng · 05/11/2016 13:10

I got this one
www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B017R95R68/ref=pe_385721_37038051_TE_3p_dp_2

I also got an extra pack of straws and strawberry pearls.

I can't wait to try it. Must remember to buy frozen smoothie fruit this afternoon. DD isn't so keen on the actual tea ones so I will have to use them up!

SpunkyMummy · 05/11/2016 16:14

I have no idea.

But DSis is 16 and currently living with us.

So, I'll follow this thread with a lot of interest.

Whippet75 · 05/11/2016 21:50

Place marking, great thread thank you.

MeDented · 05/11/2016 21:56

I'm getting an 'under 17' driving lesson at a local specialist site. They teach them the basics and get them driving round the track, I'm hoping she'll be excited!

ExitPursuedBySpartacus · 05/11/2016 21:58

Thinking of buying mine an industrial sized make up trolley.
