What do your teens do that annoy you?

  • Dd (14) walks around in her boxers and sports bra (sometimes a vest) saying I should put the heating on
  • Ds (13) also does the same (minus sports bra, obviously Grin)
  • Leaving apple cores/banana skins in their bedrooms for them to go mouldy Confused
  • 'forgetting' to do their assigned chores
  • Never making their beds!
  • Eating constantly and complaining that we never have any 'real food' in (ie junk food)
  • Never seem to be able to find the washing basket, the floor will apparently do just fine
  • Endless deodorant bottles/roll on things all over the house

Do love them though Smile

I teach teenagers and they:

-snigger at things that aren't even funny
-touch their hair ALL the time
-leave doors open
-leave rubbish on their desk/the floor
-expect me to put away their glue stick, book
-roll their eyes at anything
-never have a pen

But I love them! I cannot believe how matureand insightful and yet how stupid they are at the same time.

Mine discuss their public hair
They talk about masturbation
They talk about penis size
I bite my tongue very often and try not to feel grossed out at times!!
But I am glad that there are no topics unturned in our family!!

Not sseeming to ever know where the laundry basket is

Wolfing down food without seeming to even chew, therefore finishing before the rest of us have barely started

Putting dirty clothes back in the drawers as their way of tidying up

Wanting to have the life and freedom of an adult but not the responsibility of one.

Any thing you ask them to do is yep in a minute once I'm done doing this.

Deodorant!! Or lack of!

Only seeing them for food, money or lift requests.

Not having family days out.

Ah yes MooPoint! Always with touching their hair. We go through countless amounts of gel for dd & ds both. I think there's more combs than dust particles in the house Hmm

Fitzbilly, both mine do the same with meals! Straight after they've finished its 'whats for dessert?' and me and dh haven't even started yet! Shock

They also play fight a lot, despite supposedly being mature for their ages - often getting ds2 (10) involved too! 'tis quite a scene

Crazy, whenever I ask them to do something they say that - 'yep, just wait mum'. 1 hour later, 'what did you ask me to do again???'

Fortunately they still like having family days out. Hope it carries on this way.

...and putting clean clothes in the dirty laundry basket because they're too lazy to fold their (already sorted by me) clean laundry and put it away....

Crazy, there are so many words that I'm beginning to think there's a language just for teenagers!

Yes to the hoarding of things in their rooms, until they turn into some sort of mould experiments (mugs, apple cores, etc)

dd2 constantly wears he (waist length) hair loose - drives me barmy. I just want to get a bobble and tie it back while she is getting on with everyday things like eating! Gives me the rage.

All of the above. Plus eating humongous amounts of breakfast cereal at all times of day because he can't wait for dinner/is too lazy to put together a sandwich.

Farting! All the time, like he's brewing a brass band or something. I can hear them across the room, he obviously can't because he constantly wears headphones.

Backfor, I used to be like that with dd, but now she has it cut really short - looks better but the amount of hair products we go through is Shock

InMy GrinGrin made me laugh, that did. My teens don't do it (much), but ds2 (10) is notorious for it!

DD (14) puts her headphones on 24/7 and it drives me nuts as she never seems to hear me. She also seems to have selective hearing. Grin
DS (17) walks around in his underwear and complains how cold the house is and turns all of the heating on without me knowing about it!

Make up stains on newish bedroom carpet is pissing me off at the moment.

Inability to leave the house on time for anything at all. Not just school, but fun things too.

Adding random unnecessary words to sentences - such as "Where are my trainers at". WTF is with the 'at', just why!?

Obsessed with 'streaks' on snapchat, nearly hyper-ventilated with grief when I confiscated her phone for a day as 'her streaks would be ruined'. I've no idea.

Bigsandy same here. Sick of dd17 being late for everything, especially college classes. She keeps saying "oh it doesn't matter, its only 6th form". Apparently the teachers don't mind. That's why I keep getting texts from them then!!!

And saying " like" 6 times in every sentence. I hate it but its better than swearing every other word she says!!!!

I could go on but I'd be here all day Grin

13 yr old always leaves empty coffee cups and dishes on the floor in her room. How hard is it to walk them over to the kitchen?

Dropping litter by chairs as it is too far to walk to the bin. Not wearing deodorant. Using the floordrobe. Joking about inappropriate things in front of little sibling. Constant eating of cereal and making a mess whilst doing so.
It all pales into insignificance when I consider how hilarious they are and how much fun they bring.

Moves at the pace of a sloth with ME whenever he needs to be in a hurry, and when asked to hurry up exclaims that he can't go any faster and that shouting at him doesn't make him move any faster no, but the toe of my shoe up your jacksy might help

Dd1 (19) leaves every cupboard or door open!! Drives me insane.

Dd2 (14) is just SO messy. Constantly has ear phones in so when you talk to her she huffs and pulls one earphone out and I get "WHAT?"

Both of them throw their washing at the dirty washing box because they Can't possibly lift the lid and put it in!

big make up stains on new carpet here as well - does your DD have make up brush cleaner? If so use that it works really well
