How much do you spend on mobile phone contract?

I seem to have the worst contract in existence! How much do other people pay for their phones/iPads/etc?

I have a Sony z3 compact with 24 months free Spotify and phone insurance. I have 600 minutes unlimited texts and 7GB Internet. I pay £40 a month for all of that on Vodafone

Buy a SIM free phone and pay £7.50 a month with GiffGaff for:

250 minutes - I don't know anyone who even spends half this much time chatting on a mobile
Unlimited texts
500MB data

For £10 a month you get:
500 minutes
Unlimited texts
1GB data

For £12 you get the same but with 2GB data

I have a samsung S4 and pay £26 for a unlimited text and minutes and 1gb and got a free samsung 7inch tablet from vodafone. That was a year ago

DSs have the £10 goody bag from GiffGaff.

Virgin do a sim only for £12 and with 2gb and unlimited texts and minutes.

Surely a Giffgaff £7.50 or £10 is enough?

There are many cheap android phones you can pay outright. Saves you tears when they lose them.

I have to say that I am moving from GiffGaff because the coverage isn't as good as the dreaded EE. I can't use my phone in the pub, at MIL's in some parts of my house and couldn't at Leeds festival. DD is with a virtual network that piggybacks on to EE and her phone works in all of those places.

I am thinking of switching to Virgin.

I'm on sim only so quite cheap. Better to buy a phone outright than pay through the nose for one tied into a contract.

I dont think the giffgaff is any better value than any of the other providers. Its worth shopping around to look for better coverage in your area.

There are plenty of good value contracts out there. I got a galaxy note with unlimited everything for £25 on 3, 3 years ago from here and DH has also had phones from them.

Why the dreaded EE?
We are all EE, bar one in our household, namely because we can get coverage, unlike Tesco/O2, which although cheap is useful as far as coverage goes.
And, big and, EE are now capping which is a life saver with teens.

I pay £23pcm, 18 months into a 24 month contract with an iPhone 4s.

Not sure what my call/text limit is but I never go over it and I do t use the landline.

I think it's quite a big data allowance too. I'm online a lot and only went over it once.

I pay £31.99 for unlimited calls and texts and 5GB data each month. I have an iPhone 5S. I'm with EE (changed from Vodafone who had the worst customer service I've ever come across and who I would never touch with a bargepole ever again).

I have the £7.40 Giffgaff goody bag too. Never gone over it but if you run out of minutes/texts/data and need to top it up you can! You can also change which goody bag you have if you need to.

ds is 12, his phone was bought second hand on ebay last year (decent phon e- samsung something or other).
His contract was a deal tagged on our house contract, so initially it was £3.50 per month.

He has loads of texts and talk time but very very little data, which suits us fine!

I pay 25 a month for iPhone 5s with unlimited minutes unlimited text and 6GB on vodaphone

£20 a month unlimited data, texts and vast amounts of minutes with Giff Gaff.

I have a very old, discounted sim only contract with EE (ex T-mobile) that I currently pay £6 a month for, for 100 mins, unlimited texts, unlimited internet (fair use limit of 1-3 Gb, can't remember what) and a small overseas allowance worth about a fiver a month - I do use this about half a dozen times a year on average.

The discount runs out in a few months but I think I will keep paying the undiscounted price of £11 pm for as long as they will let me as I don't think I will get anything comparable in future.

I then buy my phones outright and currently have a Sony Z1 compact which cost £180 a few months ago. It is fantastic and blows the iphone 4 that it replaced out of the water. I try to keep my phones at least long enough so they cost £10 a month or less.

I pay £3.95 for 250 mins, 250 text & 1.3GB data - Talktalk. I don't get anywhere near those limits.
It's the small SIM package which should be 150mb of data doubled if you buy online to 300mb, I usually use around 400mb so called them and said it wasn't enough and what could they do because otherwise I was leaving, they gave me an extra 1,000mb at the same price, which was fine so I stayed.
Phone I brought outright, so that's usage only.

We re with TalkTalk. Mine s £3.75 18m contract came with a free phone 100min, 200 texts n 200mb. My dd got 12m contract xmas deal @ £5 monthly with 500min, unlimited text n 1gb data. I am getting a £10 '3' pay as you go for my 9yo dd for occasional use - 3p @ min, 2p@text n 1p data.
The '3' can cap data if you go on monthly contract. Also saw asda do a £7 30day bundle for 500mb, 300min n unlimited texts. hth

Do you research and negotiate with your landline provide to see if they will give you a deal better anyone else.
