Our oldest went to university two years ago and the youngest goes this weekend.

Is anyone else about to be an empty-nester?

I started an empty nest thread in 2006 when DS went to university - it's now on its third version here:

Redbat I hope all went well with the trip to uni. We have just become empty nesters after our one and only DD went a week ago.

We are trying to cope with the bitter-sweet thing that this stage of life is.
I have never scoured the internet so hard to find helpful information and I confess I have had a very hard cry that I have not head since childhood. However we know that it has to be this way - the alternative: why would keeping grown children from having their own life be a good thing?
One can only hope that one has instilled all the good values into them so they can be successful operating as independent individuals.
all the best.
