Since GP3 went to The Rainbow Bridge, our two sows have got on with Life In General but they are quite gentle quiet souls.
I know that my DD had a massive Boar Shaped Space in her heart that needed a Lardy Boar to fill it.

So , I'd been thinking and musing. Suggested to DH (he said OK if it's an adult and only one Grin ). Phoned the Rescue where the girls came from, there were neutered boars Grin

Suggested to DD........................she was estatic to say the least Grin

So, we have Bert. (I was allowed to name him, I had a list and he fitted Bert )

He's a one year old Teddy (neutered 2 weeks ago) so he'll side by side while he quarentines and becomes sterile.
He's cuddly, squeaky, food orientated, ready for his new life with some feisty ladies.

he's settling in, DD will get some photos for me to post. He's mainly white with fawn/agouti/grey patches.

And pink claws Grin

You can never have too many pictures of GP6 Grin

He's being very snuggly and cuddly (lulling us into a false sense of security while him and the females plot ) mwah ha ha

I adore him!

fortifiedwithtea · 30/04/2015 03:44

He is a gorgeous boy, keep the pictures coming 70 Smile

Have you found any of his favourite foods yet?

FernieB · 30/04/2015 08:46

He's luffly. He's only being cuddly and snuggly so you think he's the nicest pig - 'look at me, I'm so soppy, much better than those stinky girlie pigs'. He's angling for the biggest bits of cucumber.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 30/04/2015 21:37

He's a shedload tidier than the girls Grin. He keeps his toilet area seperate from his sleeping and eating areas.

WRT food, he's scoffing practically everything we give him except strawberries.
He's had: mint,parsley,carrots with leaves,red topped lettuce,peppers,cucumber,banana,watermelon,celery,kale,sweetcorn,coriander.
All heartily devoured .
And he eats pellets but shuns the water bottle.

FernieB · 30/04/2015 21:45

Gingerpig is also very suspicious of strawberries. All my boys have been convinced strawberries are some kind of evil force trying to trick them. I think Scruffy has been brainwashing him as he is mainly eating green food and tomatoes.

The water bottle is for making a noise to get a person to fetch something from the fridge.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 30/04/2015 21:52

Well strawberries have their seeds on the outside which is highly suspect Shock and according to my DS they're not a fruit (don't know if he's fibbing though)

GP6 is convinced they're like the Alien and the seeds will grow in his tummy rather than get digested.

All the more for me then Grin. He can have the leafy bits.

The three pigs were being very noisy tonight- DD had GP5 (wheeking) , I had GP6 (rumblestrutting) DH had GP4 (purring).

GP6 is having very supervised chat with the girls, literally just touching noses. He 'kisses' their ears as he rumbles Smile . Sweet.

When he gets to meet them 'proper' he'll hopefully be "Oh, hey it's you " rather than " Piiiiiiiiiggggggiiesss " and go daft.

OP posts:
fortifiedwithtea · 01/05/2015 01:48

Strawberries were too 'new fangled' for Old Boy as well Wink

Don't kid yourself 70, I suspect you're going to have OB & Fatimus type stories to share about GP5 and GP6 Grin

FernieB · 01/05/2015 18:13

We will need photos of the introduction.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 03/05/2015 11:47

I will try and get a photo of them all together (as in, all in the same photo, but not sitting together, not just yet).

He does this really cute leg thing- when we pick him up, he doesn't 'snap' his legs up, he dangles his legs down, like little frogs legs (they do work, honestly Grin )

GP6 has two new fans (DD friends)

DD has a slight allergic reaction to his fur if she puts him up to her neck . I tell her not to, DD and Bert ignore me Hmm

Piggies on a Bunny Blanket (for shame Grin )

I have a really strong grip on GP6 - he thought his luck was in but no, denied.

The girls look like they are huddled together like backing singers round a microphone.

I see a future for lead singer Boary Bert and the Cave(y)ttes Grin

WyrdByrd · 03/05/2015 21:43

Awwwwww! They look like they are all colour coordinated too - so sweet.

I want more piggies now!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 03/05/2015 22:43

I waited all winter to see if my Cave(y)ttes were going to be Singing Guineas , but I was disappointed.
I had two singies when I was a child, both of them Mum piggies.
GP4 and GP5 were both Mum pigs before they came to live with us.

I'm sure Simon Cowell would love Singing Guineas but I fear we've missed the auditions and Bert might disgrace himself on stage Blush

DD has always hankered after a tricolour, now she has two.
The Himmy (mine) is morphing herself into an orange faced (carrot) black bummed (dirt) tricolour too Grin

Very cute. They're lovely. GP6 is going to have his paws full with those girls - they look like they're plotting something (probably to throw him out of the group and become a girlie duo, then enter X factor).

Current Bun is very approving of the blanket. He thinks it means you secretly prefer rabbits and should be evicting the pigs anytime soon.

dietcokeandwine · 03/05/2015 23:03

70 they are all absolutely gorgeous Smile

Love the hopeful look on Bert's face Grin

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 03/05/2015 23:28

The blanket was a "Hoppy Easter" ( Hoppy Grin ) present from GP4 to DD (pre-Bert days) because we were away over Easter and guinea pigs don't do chocolate.

I'm sure GP4 thinks that rabbits are just for Easter though (heartless hog)

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 03/05/2015 23:30

I think Bert is "Very Afraid" , the girls practically camp at the side of his cage.

I'm sure they're planning on going into season ( usually their pee smells evil when they are)

OP posts:
fortifiedwithtea · 04/05/2015 05:03

70 are you suggesting the picture is more one of the 'diet Coke ad' the way the girls are looking at Bert? Wink Grin

Poor Bert, the girls don't love him for his mind

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 04/05/2015 09:01

The girls have already dealt with GP3 (who went from living with Stepdad to neuter to living with girls) and they bossed him about (but he loved it)

They're just making sure Bert knows which way the hay-cookie crumbles Grin
As to what's going on in Bert's mind.well DD always says they aren't the sharpest knives in the drawer.

Hopefully today will stay dry and all the Suoer Furry Animal Pigs (and buns) can collectively have a Star Trek Day / Naughty Girl Birthday graze

OP posts:
70isaLimitNotaTarget · 04/05/2015 09:21

Star WARS Shock

Wars not Trek (I've never seen Star Wars, any of them. I have, however ,been subjected to every Star Trek episode and film )

The Pigs are preparing themselves for The Wedding at the end of this week (we've decided on Friday. No school. I don't work Fridays. DH is hopefully going to take leave)

The ladies have had 4 months of widowhood (and inherited everything from GP3) so I reckon they're happy to welcome GP6 into their lives .

OP posts:
FernieB · 17/05/2015 07:42

Good luck with the preparationsThanks. Have you organised the photographer, checked the venue, catered for all dietary requirements? Don't forget the flowers (I understand curly parsley counts as a flower).

Have they had their hen and stag yet?

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 17/05/2015 07:56

Oooh yes, all in hand Smile
DD with the iPad for photos.
The paddling pool ballroom is cleaned and ready
Guinea-Cake will be assembled and kept chilled
Cake Cake for the non-rodents will be baked
Bottle of Gorgeous Guineas Shampoo ready

Dandelions in flower in the garden ready to be put with a parsley garnish .

They haven't mentioned a Stag/Hen do yet, must double check them on Thursday to make sure they're safely tucked up, not out gallivanting.

There will be photos Wink
