Since GP3 went to The Rainbow Bridge, our two sows have got on with Life In General but they are quite gentle quiet souls.
I know that my DD had a massive Boar Shaped Space in her heart that needed a Lardy Boar to fill it.

So , I'd been thinking and musing. Suggested to DH (he said OK if it's an adult and only one ). Phoned the Rescue where the girls came from, there were neutered boars

Suggested to DD........................she was estatic to say the least

So, we have Bert. (I was allowed to name him, I had a list and he fitted Bert )

He's a one year old Teddy (neutered 2 weeks ago) so he'll side by side while he quarentines and becomes sterile.
He's cuddly, squeaky, food orientated, ready for his new life with some feisty ladies.

he's settling in, DD will get some photos for me to post. He's mainly white with fawn/agouti/grey patches.

Firstly, congratulations in managing to bring home a pink clawed pig! With any luck he'll also be a docile soul who sits still for pedicures.

I knew you couldn't stay boarless for long. Welcome Bert (excellent name choice) to the SFA family. May you have a long, lardy life full of lazing about whilst people cut grass for you and bring it to you on a silver platter at the crack of dawn.

Do you know his history? Pictures please - this delay in waiting for photos is unacceptable.

Bert has got his act together now to pose (as only a lardy boar can) for a photo.

He came to Rescue with his brother but unfortunately they weren't able to stay together (fighty) so they were seperated, snipped and rehomed.

Bert was probably dreaming of a nice home with a couple of girls.
I hope we all make his little piggie dreams come true.

He looks suitably unimpressed as all the most discerning pigs do ('if you look grumpy, they'll feed you treats to cheer you up')!

Love his colouring - great patch on his eye. He's lovely. I'm sure he'll luff his ladieez when he's allowed to meet them properly.

He is adorable 70, there are times when only a Lardy boar will do!. Be careful now and don't start thinking about herds of pigs majestically wandering about your garden!

They do have "The Look" don't they.

I don't like kale. If I do the Daily Mail Sad Face, she'll hand pick dandelions for me

I hadn't really considered another guinea-pig until I started thinking about it (and he wasn't an impulse buy really, we've had the boars, the boar/sows,the sows ; so I knew we could take on another boar. I'd been thinking about adding to our group, but not sure if sows would gel with our sows)

DH and I are clearing the garage ( glorified big shed, no car in there) . Our freezer is in there, there's lights and electricity. three windows for daylight.
It is much cooler in summer for them.
DH can add some air vents if needed.
They can have a huge run and hayboxes and this can be their Neutral Territory home.
I'm looking for some ideas on how to furnish it on Pinterst.

The Pighouse will be dismantled, we're having garden stuff done.
Can make a new lawn maybe............

If they're moving into the garage, you've plenty of room for a herd. Bert could have several more wives. You know you really want to spend hours every day cleaning out and hand picking grass - it's not as though you've anything else to do .

Apart from my ver' ver' busy and caring NHS work my manky DC, lovely DH , all the washing/shopping/driving/cooking etc .

Bert hasn't lived with ladies (apart from his own mum), my pair might send him running to the hills .

GP5 was slinking down the side of his cage to have a Good Look.
When they were introduced (in strong armlocks) he was very interested

He said he's happy to cut the grass himself "when the rain stops".

They all say they'll cut the grass themselves, but they never do. Mine go out in their run and mow the lawn frantically for 10 minutes then lard around for the rest of the day.

Ours never stop mowing the lawn, hence the need to re seed it!!! They were on a patch of very long grass the other day and within half an hour all the grass had disappeared!

GP6 has eaten his supper (good sign) peed'n'pooohed (another good sign)
had a Boar Hug this morning with DD (guess who had to traipse down the garden in the rain, oh that'll be me )

They're having breakfast now, the girls are stalking round the cage to admire him/ suss him out

Bert is very pretty and I bet that teddy coat is so cuddly, lucky DD

Somehow your herd didn't seem complete without a lardy boar , good call 70.

His coat is springey and soft (much softer than GP3 Rex coat but not 'fluffy' )

He's one of those solid piggies that pootle right up to your neck to chatter.

DD friend has a Teddy boar who didn't cause her to react like she did with GP3. So before he met the girls, he had to spend some snuggle time with DD

GP4 and GP5 are behaving like lovesick teenage girls who have discovered Harry Styles has moved in next door .
I;m guessing they'll be going into season soon...............too bad ladies.

My little Himalayan has taken up pole position at the top end of his cage (bless her , she can't see over the top of the solid plastic bit unless she stretches right up ) She took a dandelion leaf from the pile and scootered off to her 'spot' (very Sheldon Cooper )

DD took the girls upstirs while I cleaned the Pighouse (GP6 in his travel box with me) then took him in for a cuddle. He was an angel.

DD and I swapped , GP6 was very wheeky and rumblestrutty (normal) . They weren't in the same room but he could smell GP4/GP5 on DD dressing gown.

Then he peed on DD. Spectactulary and efficiently . Had to be done eh?

70 he is gorgeous. Beautiful blunt-nosed boy (I have a thing about pigs with very soft blunt noses). He is luffley!

Can't see him atm as on my phone but I'm sure he's gorgeous .

We're aiming for a Whitsun Wedding

DC are on an inset day on the 22nd May (before their half term) so we'll keep them side-by-siding till then.DD and I will have the whole day to Make It So (in the words of Jean-Luc Picard)

Then it'll be the whole Bath/Paddling Pool/ Cake (oh Yes Layered salad Wedding Cake) and Bond.

We're sorting out the garage for them ( DH and I are emptying 25 years of junk then we'll measure up, paint the walls , and I'll bark instructions a him to make a nice big run.)

The garage is concrete so fox safe, cooler than the wooden shed and much more room so I can have all their bedding and newspaper right where I need them. Power points for heaters and lights and fan as needed.

Winter will need some thought to insulation but we can sort that out, and they'll come in at night before Guy Fawkes.

The Pighouse is getting a bit 'passed it' millimat

It's wooden, DH painted it and noticed a couple of bits were starting to go. And because it's raised (good in wet weather) I worry about foxes getting under it if bits break.

The garage is much bigger and once it's cleared out (in progress ) they can have a huge haybox and run area.

I was thinking of keeping the Pighouse for storage (our bikes have to live somewhere)

In the new 'Pig Garage', they'll be able to have their own fridge! That's the piggie dream .

There's a big chest freezer there, ( GP1 used to love Cornetto wafer )

The whole idea of The Fridge is to gaze whinsomly at it until The Human realises what they need to do and gets the parsley out
