They are the only ones I have found to wear on my Wedding Day.

They are in America, so will cost altogether (shipping + tax inc) £140. My dress cost £30

I am a size 5/6, so do I go for an American size 8? Are American shoes known for coming up big/small?

Do I risk it and bank on Ebay if they're not right?

They look perfect

[Did orignally put a similar thread in chat a moment ago, but hoping it will be ignorned now I've remember the S&B section ]

I agree that bridal shoes are generally pretty grim, but try and broaden your search and check sales. If you can wait until June, you might find some deals. Look at sites like net-a-porter.com that have ongoing sales.

Have you thought of going metallic - silver or gold? That will give you more choice, too.

Also, what do you think about these? They are somewhat similar, but not as sophisticated.

BattyKoda · 01/05/2010 09:00

Wow, thank you everyone for links!! Just find my self comparing them to the £140 ones though sigh

Wubbly - her feet look about 7 sizes too big for thouse shoes! They're actually quite nice though (the shoes I mean!). The House of Fraser ones are erring back to Katie Price-esque I think

Lucykate - Do you really think I could wear them again?

Have looked through KnottyLocks - I've lost all sense of reasoning looking through that many pairs of bridal shoes and am beginning to think these could the The Ones.

JFly - They would be a serious contender if they were just a bit higher, my dress is really long so need a high heel!

There really are some horrid ones out there... I nearly cried when I went into Dune!

Whoever recommended Net-A-Porter, thanks thanks alot, we are now sacrificing our honeymoon!

OP posts:
BattyKoda · 01/05/2010 09:22

Maybe I could suffer some Katie Price shoes

I'm drooling

How good are their sales? Do they do a 90% off one?

VerityBrulee · 01/05/2010 09:26

I have done a trawl of the sites I would usually look on for shoes, varying prices. I hope all the links work

All 38s on YOOX

BattyKoda · 01/05/2010 09:50

Wow- thank you Verity!

Most out of budget unfortunately

Ideally I'd like to spend £60-£90. They need to be Ivory with no, if not minimal, sparkle.

I'm having my hair like this. But I'm very white blonde.

My dress. Close up of the detail

You will look beautiful

OK, would you consider ebay? I an sitting here in a stunning pair of designer shoes (new) that I got for about a quarter of their original price.

I searched ebay.com for your Nordstrom shoes but they only have them in purple or black. BUt you have lots of time left, so you could keep an eye there for a pair and see what comes up.

I have to go out now, but will keep searching later. We will find you the perfect pair

lucykate · 01/05/2010 11:06

batty, that bag is gorgeous, you have very good taste!

what's holding you back on buying the shoes, is it price or the worry they won't fit?

wubblybubbly · 01/05/2010 11:18

Batty, you're going to look absolutely gorgeous, really, everything you've chosen is just stunning.

Don't stress too much over the shoes, with all those beautiful items you've brought together, no one would notice if wore green flash on your feet, honestly! No one is likely to even see them!

wubblybubbly · 01/05/2010 11:32

Batty, I can't stop looking for shoes for you, I've become an addict

What about these

Sort of a cross between your drool link and your heart's desire maybe?

Think they might go really nicely with your bag.

BattyKoda · 01/05/2010 14:02

Thank you Verity Would definately consider Ebay! Saw the other colours, am panicking about having everything ready in time though!!

Thank you lucykate - knew it was the one as soon as I saw it! I'm holding back partly because of the expense and risk if they don't look right, it's alot of money to loose, and would cost alot in shipping to return. I probably wouldn't bat an eyelid at the price if I could try them on and knew they were a perfect fit. TBH it'll be quite nice to have a bit of a splurge considering my dress was so cheap!

Thank you wubbly, am getting a bit at all the compliments! Glad you all like my choices, haven't really been able to share them with anybody else! Those shoes are lovely but I think maybe too much diamonte? Although I am on the look at for a vintage diamonte hair clip....

KnottyLocks · 01/05/2010 14:29

Checking in to see if we've found them yet, but to be honest, Batty, you are going to look stunning, lady. If anyone's looking at your shoes I'd be gobsmacked.

The BHS ones look quite similar in style.

Anyway, back to the search!

KnottyLocks · 01/05/2010 14:52

Lost track of what we've done now!

More ruffles

Strappy Sparkles

Platform ruffles

KnottyLocks · 01/05/2010 15:15

Big flower

Not like you wanted but cute and ivory

BattyKoda · 01/05/2010 15:18

Thank you KnottyLocks. Am really excited now, so glad you all like it

Too much sparkle on the first two (tbh the tiny bit of sparkle on the buckle of The Shoes almost put me off) The last pair I really like, but they might not be delicate enough?

Oh, I might just go for it! We've saved so much money on everything else it wouldn't matter to have a little slurge? Surely it's worth the risk?

OP posts:
KnottyLocks · 01/05/2010 15:41

At least you have some ideas now for Plan B, if Plan A doesn't work out. If you are going to order the original ones, I'd do it asap to give yourself some time if they aren't the dream shoes you hope they are.

Wishing you a wonderful wedding. You will look lovely whatever shoes you are wearing.

wubblybubbly · 01/05/2010 17:56

Been doing more searching to feed my addiction

pretty with a bow

Not a sparkle in sight!

BattyKoda · 01/05/2010 18:13

wubbly

They are nice! Perfect heel height, not too fussy, not too 'clumpy' and no sparkle! Most definately would be a contender if The American Shoes go wrong, if only they were in stock, looks like they have no sizes left?

OP posts:
BattyKoda · 01/05/2010 18:25

Second hand wedding shoes??

OP posts:
mumsx2 · 01/05/2010 18:38

I think the shoes are lovely, the dress a bit simple but nice as well. Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!

JFly · 01/05/2010 19:00

Those Jimmy Choos are really nice. I think they would suit your dress very well, since they have a similar pearl/beaded detail. Also a little splash of gold. And very slinky, which I think you need with your dress. Anything with too much coverage will look a bit odd, I think. Go for it! You were going to take a gamble on shoes, so I'd gamble on these. At least if they are wrong they can go straight back on Ebay!

My friend got her wedding shoes on ebay and they were fab. Worn once, who would know the difference? Ask specific questions about any marks, though, so that you have a clear idea of flaws in advance. Ask for further photos if you are concerned.

BattyKoda · 01/05/2010 19:05

I still think I prefer the American ones though... and they would be brand new... arghh. Saw that it was you that directed me to Net-A-Porter JFly!! Hours upon hours of shoe porn....!

OP posts:
wubblybubbly · 01/05/2010 19:08

No! .

Well, not to worry, I think you've decided on The American Shoes. I don't blame you, they are lush and even thought they're pricey, you'll definitely wear them again and again.

My wedding shoes are stuck upstairs in the box, worn for just a few hours, so at least you'll get your money's worth in the end.

Hope you have a lovely day Batty.

Now, what was that hairclip you were after.....

BattyKoda · 01/05/2010 20:23

Do you think I could wear them again? Really, without them looking like wedding shoes?

Ahhh yes...the hairclip For this a bit of diamonte wouldn't go a miss... I want something to put in the side of my bun, just poking out (did you see the pic?). Something like this perhaps, what do you think? Or do you think keep it simple and just have some lovely earrings? Or both?

OP posts:
HLaurens · 01/05/2010 20:43

Just to say I bought a pair of Martinez Valero boots a while back - they were beautiful quality and lasted years and years...so the shoes would be an investment. You may even be able to get them dyed so they looked less wedding-like.
