Credit to Everything for the lovely new title!

Mrs J - sorry to hear about your dd.

Dolcee - agree weight is aging and can make you look 'matronly'. The difficult thing is that being v slim or skinny can be equally aging to the face. And the real kicker is that running (iam a runner too btw!) is bad for aging your face - combination of the movement pulling dowm the skin and reducing connectivity to the bones in the face, and the UV/UVB rays giving you wrinkles. A healthy BMI and some light surgery on the face would appear to be the answer all round .

traceybath · 29/04/2010 14:01

Dolcee - a halter neck top! Brrr you must have been freezing.

We're off to majorca in 4 weeks time and I can't wait.

DH very very busy at the moment so a change of scenery will do us all good. But as Bea is now very mobile not sure how much lounging by the pool reading magazines/books I'll be doing.

DolceeBanana · 29/04/2010 14:05

Or running in a zero gravity darkened room! Uh.....well, let's just say I'd rather look like SJP than Kelly O anyday....although Kelly O does I admit have flawless translucent skin.

traceybath · 29/04/2010 14:09

What is going on with trinny woodall nowadays? Now she's definitely had too much work.

I want J Crew to go live on NAP - times said it was going to be this week but they lied!

Choo - definitely get a denim jacket. And I saw your linen mac in jigsaw and it is utterly gorgeous. Luckily for my bank balance they didn't have my size.

notyummy · 29/04/2010 14:09

Can't support you on that one Dolcee. She has some fab clothes, but my views on SJP lean towards DH's description of her as 'a raddled old horseface'.

He's not usually that rude about ladies btw....

DolceeBanana · 29/04/2010 14:12

Roman - make him pay !!! No, glad he's apologised....they always get uppity with the one they love...(uh...as do we actually, because nobody else will stand for it!)

Have just finished a rather delicious chorizo and bean casserole (small portion!!!!), made by my DH last night whilst i was out at Book Club.. Sweet! Love his cotton socks! He does like to 'mother me'!!!!

Yes tracey - was rather chilly....although we had the promise of another day like yday here this am so kids are in full spring get up too!

Feel a bit sorry for DD 1....she threw a wooden rattle in to baby today and actually bruised her just under the eye. Phoebe, who never usually is one to cry was hysterical! It must have really hurt...and DD1 so upset she almost made herself sick so don't think it was intended as a missile!

Kids v mischievous at the mo! Or am I just knackered!?

Lucky you tracey - off in 4 weeks

Verity I have been picturing you like that since you originally linked to the shoes, and will continue to do so

Nothing useless about keeping your DD hydrated, MrsJ. Quite the opposite in fact.

I am off out tonight for the last of my birthday celebrations - to a cheese party with some girlfriends. We have a market in our village on a Thursday and the cheese man is wonderful, so we are all bringing a (hopefully) different cheese and pigging out! Have a weekend of guests to stay too, after which none of my purchases will fit and I will have to get the exercise bike out and go back to my usual eating pattern. (Kind of trying to shift the last few lbs of baby weight; I'd just like to be permanently the right side of 9st. Will read up on your weight loss tips...)

We're doing something very uncharacteristic this year for a holiday (having been to cottages in the UK for the past 2 years, and nothing for the few before that). We'll be in Florida for a fortnight, staying in a friend's condo in Naples and going up to Orlando for a few days just because it's there. Am nervous though. DH desperate to go to Kennedy Space Centre which I think will be fantastic, but am apprehensive of Disney...

traceybath · 29/04/2010 14:16

Dolcee does your eldest start school in september? Will she be going in Bath or nearer to you?

I love chorizo - that sounds a delicious lunch. Have just been staring at fridge contents and contemplating what to cook for dinner.

DolceeBanana · 29/04/2010 14:26

Hi Tracey - Eldest is DS, and yes he is starting school in Sept...we have booked him into the local teeny, tiny village school for now but realistically we hope to have a house by then!!!! Had a phone call from an agent today with a fab place in a valley thats just come on....so going to see on sat!

I ahve this weird feeling that yours goes to Kw in Lans? Am I right?

Yes, I'm about to cook dinner too? after I've sorted playroom (dull, dull, dull)...I rearranged it this morning and need to put it back, but whilst DCs having a rest I'm chucking all the crap, or they'll want to keep it - you know magazines they only snatch the free gift and stickers from and never read !!!

Think Chilli tonight...kids love it and so do we....

AllBuggiedOut · 29/04/2010 14:27

Am envious of your Italy trips. We honeymooned on Lake Garda notyummy, many years ago now, though

notyummy · 29/04/2010 14:28

Agree smoked paprika is fab.

DH does a mean chorizo and butterbean stew.

traceybath · 29/04/2010 14:31

Everything - I love paprika too. That soup sounds delicous.

Dolcee - sorry DS! Yeap DS1 is at KW and likes it there lots. Even the villages round here have got big classes and he's an august boy so thought he'd be a bit overwhelmed.

notyummy · 29/04/2010 14:34

I know - I can't wait buggied! We have done Tuscany for the last 2 years and have loved it, but thought we should brnach out this year. Won't be that long til we start thinking about long haul with dd, but wanted to wait until she was a bit older until we put ourselves through it!!

Space Centre is excellent. Disney also great if you approach it with the right mindset IMHO. Much better than European version - the staff appear much more pleased to be there, and strangely enough I found the food to be of a higher quality in the parks, with a wider range of healthy options.

DolceeBanana · 29/04/2010 14:42

Yes, I can see the horsefacey bit! And s'pose body a bit sinewy...My DH thinks Jen A sexless so maybe that's a bit worrying too in that I think her body ideal! Why is it that men and women never agree on what's hot...what we probably spend time coveting and trying to achieve they wouldn't want to touch with a barge pole in RL.

I mean lots of men coo over Nigella (DH doesn't fancy btw - his ultimate is Imogen Stubbs!!!!), but I frankly wouldn't want the extremes of her shapeliness.....(Nigella's that is)

Mind you lots of french women get it right. Some pencil thin with the most radiant, plump (unbotoxed,) faces...and I think its down to diet...they do allow themselves a little of everything, including cream etc....Omega 3s important

AllBuggiedOut · 29/04/2010 14:49

Good to know, thanks yummy. We are taking my parents with us to give us a healthy child-adult ratio, and hopefully a bit of a break too. Will need some serious advice about what to wear in boiling heat, too, as haven't done it for years!

DolceeBanana · 29/04/2010 14:53

Tracey, yes, DS July boy...and good thing here is v small school, so good way in...We have our eye on the grammar schools eventually, or maybe private at secondary level if we can't find right school...it's all food for thought isn't it (there I go again, food!!!)...

DolceeBanana · 29/04/2010 14:55

Right, Office order arrived and sort playroom top of priorities...

OllieWollieWoo · 29/04/2010 16:16

I need some virtual handholding! DS1 has had an accident - a toilet seat fell back down whilst he was having a wee and has hurt his willy - nasty graze on the outside and some bleeding from the inside. DH has just taken him to hospital to get it looked at. We were at a friends house when it happened and I have never heard DS1 scream like it. DS1 was v brave in the car on the way home but has just got upset again at the thought of going to hospital. Got DH home and he had a look at it and it started to bleed again from inside so off they have gone. I'm staying home with DS2 as DH can obviously speak Dutch and be understood far better than me. Horrible waiting here tho. Think I need to keep busy.

blossoming · 29/04/2010 16:41

Oh ollie that sounds awful. Big hugs.
Good that your dh can speak Dutch though although you must be going spare not being with them.

MarshaBrady · 29/04/2010 17:36

O cripes Ollie, hope your ds is ok.

traceybath · 29/04/2010 17:39

Oh Ollie - poor DS. I suspect willy's bleed quite a lot - a bit like if you cut your finer so hopefully its just a little scrape.

Let us know how he is.

blossoming · 29/04/2010 17:47

Don't you feel completely out of your comfort zones when it comes to willies?

notyummy · 29/04/2010 18:01

So sorry to hear about your DS OWW. That must be sore.
