Am considering a No Jeans month - anyone with me?

I honestly believe I am really a very funky, slim, young, sexy 30 year old
HIDING
in frump and JEANS.
every day. jeans, jeans, jeans (nice flattering jeans - including my £1.79 Miss Sixty charity shop bargains but still...)

Was considering having a month of banning jeans. NO JEANs for a month- wear anything else... designed to kick me up the bum into wearing something different in my wardrobe (and usually as a result bothering with make-up etc). Having haircut tomorrow and going out so might be a nice day to start (eek, no jeans for going out...)

Anyone with me?

Afternoon all, Adair you didn't kill the thread

Black cropped trousers, red top, funky leopard print balet pumps.

boogeek · 16/04/2010 12:50

I have charcoal grey, high-waisted, wide-legged trousers. Which just happen to be made from denim. Is that ok?
Plus a dull purply ruffled shirt (Boden, sorry)

Hulababy · 16/04/2010 12:53

I very rarely wear jeans anyway; don't find them comfortable - and it wet weather not practical either. So a month of jeans free will be easy for me. Today I am wearing a dress from White stuff, thick navy tigthes and a long navy cardigan.

8y DD is the same - hates jeans. She spends her life in skirts and dresses too.

AvadaKedavra · 16/04/2010 13:06

Just read my post back and my outfit sounds AWFUL but it's really pretty I promise you!

AvadaKedavra · 17/04/2010 10:07

Still in my pyjamas and that might not change today, but hy it's not jeans right?

mrstimlovejoy · 17/04/2010 10:37

well i'm in jeans my dd's in 3 dance shows this weekend and i'm helping out this afternoon so need to be comfortable looking after 20 under 6's
tonight myself and dh are going to watch the show so will wear linen trousers
i always wear jeans or trousers.i would love to wear skirts or dresses but detest my legs[they are scarred from really bad eczema and i am really concious about it]also need to loose a few pounds.i do wear skirts in the winter as can cover legs with tights but in the summer it's usually light trousers

boogeek · 17/04/2010 10:41

Brown trousers with apale blue check (nicer than they sound I promise) - don't look too badly sausagey though feel a bit tight still; pale blue v-neck t-shirt. Have now run out of things that arent jeans until I get off my bum and do some washing. Has anybody else noticed that jeans can be worn and worn but everything else needs washing after one wear?

janeite · 17/04/2010 12:36

Am wearing denim mini (again) with a black scoop-neck t-shirt and a black and white striped cardigan. Next job is to wean myself off my denim mini as I wear it so often and also, it is now too big for me.

Adair · 17/04/2010 13:36

well done, all yous!

I wore my black dress again with purple tights, boots, green crochet cardi and a belt with turquoise bits (belts! exciting new territory!).

Today am wearing a sleeveless navy knee-length dress with coral and navy stripes at the top and a Paris print. Sounds strange? It is. But nice too. Think pull-on dresses will be my new 'jeans'.

Oh, and no shoes cos we are at home and it's so sunny, yeah!

"I honestly believe I am really a very funky, slim, young, sexy 30 year old" well what's wrong with jeans then? Don't have to wear them with frump. My jeans are amongst my funkiest clothes and they mean I don't need to worry about tights which I hate.

Adair · 17/04/2010 16:34

Oh I am sure I will go back to wearing jeans soon! It's just I'd got myself in a rut of not thinking about what I wear - and pulling on any old stuff (even stuff that didn't really look nice or fit properly). So for me, 'banning jeans' was a light-hearted way of kick-starting me thinking about it again and enjoying fashion tbh.

Your dress sounds nice Adair, got a link?

Despite me saying I wasn't going to buy anything (as losing weight) I bought this dress today, not everyone's taste I know, but so me

AvadaKedavra · 18/04/2010 09:56

I'm wearing my new dress today

HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 21/04/2010 10:48

Its 6 days since my last post on this thread and I have worn jeans for the last 3 due to lack of motivation, weather and children being sick on outfits.

However I did go to town yesterday and got this outfit for a wedding www.warehouse.co.uk/one-shoulder-pleat-dress/Dresses/warehouse/fcp-product/300732

This looks great but the one in my size had black marks link. I would love to wear it to DD's christening on Sunday so if anyone can find it in a size 12 let me know.

HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 21/04/2010 15:08

Have found another dress and my mum is picking it up, yay mum.

Ooooh.... am I the new thread killer...

boogeek · 21/04/2010 15:55

I've not been back to post because I've been in my jeans . That coast dress is lovely!

AvadaKedavra · 21/04/2010 15:57

I forgot about the thread oops. I have jeans on today [hangs head in shame]

HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 23/04/2010 20:31

managed to wear leggings today.

Has everyone else abandoned the no jeans thing then?

boogeek · 23/04/2010 21:09

Yep! Back firmly in my jeans. Need to win the lottery or lose that weight before I can do this!

Pinkmarshmallow · 25/04/2010 19:17

Awww, this thread is dying...no! I've been quiet as I've been away and not much time for MN. Lived in tracksuit bottoms and combats while camping but back in my skirts now. Got a new one as a pressie last week, white linen....don't normally go for linen as I hate the crushy look....but I do have some lovely tops that I haven't worn for ages because I hadn't anything to wear them with and this will go perfectly with them. Adair, where are you? Only a week to go and this thread will have lasted the month...

Pinkmarshmallow · 25/04/2010 19:17

ok, a bit more than a week....

HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 26/04/2010 13:56

Wore the Coast dress yesterday which was great except had to take it off (in my bedroom) everytime I had to feed DD.

Back in jeans today though .

Pinkmarshmallow · 05/05/2010 11:51

Where is everyone?
Adair?
