Am considering a No Jeans month - anyone with me?

I honestly believe I am really a very funky, slim, young, sexy 30 year old
HIDING
in frump and JEANS.
every day. jeans, jeans, jeans (nice flattering jeans - including my £1.79 Miss Sixty charity shop bargains but still...)

Was considering having a month of banning jeans. NO JEANs for a month- wear anything else... designed to kick me up the bum into wearing something different in my wardrobe (and usually as a result bothering with make-up etc). Having haircut tomorrow and going out so might be a nice day to start (eek, no jeans for going out...)

Anyone with me?

WEll done both of you!! Your clothes sounds lovely

I am wearing short denim shorts from YEARS ago (far too big, but wearing with a belt) with black tights, a purple and black stripey/star t-shirt and a purple cardi.

Am considering blogging this with photos it's so much fun!! Feel like when I was 15 and used to trawl charity shop for vintage nighties to wear with my DMs, though I actually saw the revival of the grunge look in Glamour the other month and felt REALLY old .

Good moring everyone. Lots of colour! Lots of imagination being used. Hooray!

I'm in my short denim skirt with the bright pink longline cardi over a white vest top and these flip flops I got yesterday...mine have more pink on the strap though than in that picture, so matches the cardi well. Obv bare legs so I'm freezin! But put M&S self-tan on legs this morn so wanted that to dry.... let's hope it warms up again a bit.

Pinkmarshmallow · 14/04/2010 12:03

P.S. Blog a great idea, Adair

AvadaKedavra · 14/04/2010 12:36

Flipflops it's gone back to boots and heavy coats weather here today and apparently we are getting snow at the weekend?!

As it's freezing I have black trousers, black boots and a black and siler swingy top on under my black cardi. BLACK! Head to toe, and I feel very miserable compared to light and fresh yesterday. Bah.

I tried these and these on today but couldn't make up my mind about them so didn't buy either. Opinions?

boogeek · 14/04/2010 13:16

Blog is a great idea!
I'm in tracky bottoms and a scruffy T-shirt and cardy, does that count? Had to take DDs swimming earlier. I might shower and spruce up before the school run - but either way, it's not jeans!

Pinkmarshmallow · 14/04/2010 13:19

Snow this weekend? I'm supposed to be going camping! eeek!

Like the first shoes....nice with black tights and a top in that other pinky/purpley colour in them. Maybe more of an autumn/winter shoe though? The second ones look SO comfortable! Nice and light and summery and will go with lots. Very much my kind of thing!

boogeek · 14/04/2010 13:24

Gah! Have just ordered those second shoes. Must not click on links.

AvadaKedavra · 14/04/2010 14:49

oops sorry

HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 14/04/2010 18:42

Returned from bit of a shop. Got 1 pair leggings, 2 vests and a skirt from river island in the sale.

printed zip front black and white skirt

You have to go to the sale page to find it as the link won't get you there.

DD then started crying before I could get anything else.

AvadaKedavra · 15/04/2010 08:07

Navy leggings, Ugg style boots, long tunic top with navy background and pink roses on, boyfriend cardi, beige mac. Bloody cold today

Adair · 15/04/2010 09:04

Oh halfmum, I like the skirt!

Avada, that sounds v stylish.

Ok, i need leggings.

Today, we are off to the zoo. Will prob wear my ankle boots as they are most comfy (unless I find some trousers lurking in my wardrobe and can wear my sainsburys fake converse...)

stillfrazzled · 15/04/2010 09:55

OK, today it's a just below knee length denim skirt (not v flattering, must get a shorter one so sits on the knee), teal tights, grey cotton sweater, turquoise, white and gold bead necklace (tribal-ish). Will wear laceless cream Converse with silver and gold paisley embroidery on if I go out.

Am enjoying this.

BTW if I make a positive choice to wear, e.g., my beloved faded boyfriend jeans with a pretty floaty top, is that cheating?

AvadaKedavra · 15/04/2010 11:57

Love the sound of your Converse SF, I'm a bit addicted to them I favour hitops though, need some lo ones.

boogeek · 15/04/2010 12:41

Well those black and white shoes arrived super fast! Need a pair of insoles but otherwise they are nice - though not with what I have on today (black leggings, Joe Brown green floral chiffony floaty top thing). Think they will look best with jeans

HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 15/04/2010 14:18

So funny. What if we spot each other on the street after describing our outfits!

Another jeans free day here . Am wearing navy leggings (snap Avada) red flat pumps with strap, long butterfly top with red long cardi.

Benefit of that RI skirt is that it has elastic at the top that sucks you in!

Pinkmarshmallow · 15/04/2010 14:55

I'm wearing a green knee-length skirt with brown stitching, black t-shirt, green & grey scarf, grey shoes, brown belt. Feel good in it despite having a bit of a bad day

I went into a town I seldom shop in (maybe twice a year) to meet a friend for coffee. Was early so went in to a shoe shop and bought a v comfy pair of flat grey S. Oliver shoes. Kind of a cross between a pump and a trainer. I think I'll keep these instead of the Clarks ones I linked to earlier. Imagine I'll get a lot of wear out of them. They're a replacement for a pair of white similar style I bought three yrs ago that are just done now. (justifying myself!) Then went into a clothes shop with my friend and she insisted I try on a Great Plains skirt that was on sale at less than half price! So had to buy it. Oops. Turned out to be an expensive coffee date! Would link but can't find pics of either.

Trying to pack now for camping...have kimono and leggings packed but may have to resort to trackie bottoms or combats if it's cold!

stillfrazzled · 15/04/2010 15:02

Must find some navy leggings, would make a lovely change from black.

BTW still need guidance on the 'making a positive choice to wear boyfriend jeans' (see earlier post) - any thoughts?

janeite · 15/04/2010 15:45

I failed for a couple of days but am now back. Today I'm wearing:
denim mini - Gap;
black opaques;
purple long-line top with flouncy bit - Mint Velvet;
black cardi - M&S;
silver ballet flats;
silver cuff.
I look much slimmer in a skirt than in jeans!

Adair · 15/04/2010 17:20

WEll, I caved today and wore jeans to go to the zoo. Was having a bit of a bad day too (sorry to hear that Avada -hope the retail therapy made up for it), and ended up sobbing cos I couldn't make a decision of what to wear . So dh suggested I just wear jeans today. Will be back on track tomorrow, promise.

all your outfits sounds lovely! I want navy leggings too. And it's still shoes I need to sort. Though when it;s hot I will just wear my fake birkenstocks everywhere.

Adair · 16/04/2010 10:22

Oh no - I killed the thread! Come back, come back!

Am about to get dressed. NO JEANS. PROMISE.

stillfrazzled · 16/04/2010 10:46

Morning Adair,

Let's try to resuscitate!

Am wearing charcoal grey leggings, oatmeal ruffled vest, black merino wrap dress/cardy, pewter coloured loafers and green amber necklace and earrings. Also most excellent black leather biker jacket which DH bought, all on his own, five years ago and is still going strong.

Pinkmarshmallow · 16/04/2010 10:48

Thread not dead. It's live and kicking!

Wearing short denim skirt and longline pink cardi, white t-shirt and fitflops.

Have nearly my whole wardrobe packed for the weekend to take away with me as some say the forecast is for snow and some say for hot weather so I gotta go prepared! DH will be at the amount of stuff I'm bringing . It's so easy for him...jeans, shorts, hoodie, t-shirts, runners and that'll cover every eventuality. Whereas I've summer dress, leggings, tracksuit bottoms, long-sleeved tops, short sleeved tops, a coat to go with this if it's really cold, a coat to go with that outfit, a coat to go with the other option if weather allows, boots, trainers, sandals, flipflops.... eeekk! Ok, sorry, rant over.

So, Adair, what have you put on today? Have you started the blog yet?

crumpette · 16/04/2010 11:17

Adair, thread is just about alive.. just though I did fail yesterday and wore jeans sorry, they were just insisting I wore them ! BUT I felt a bit rubbish once I was out of the house still wearing them, very 'meh'

right back on form - chinos rolled up a tiny bit (cos I'm short not cos I'm trendy), ballet pumps, black top, blazer, fuschia polka dot scarf. there. no denim! oh, a blob of baby sick has just been added..

Pinkmarshmallow · 16/04/2010 11:20

love the sound of your scarf, crumpette!

crumpette · 16/04/2010 11:34

thanks, it's very pink.. I'm a bit scared of it actually normally I would take it off and swap with something black or grey but in the name of the thread I shall keep it on.
