I currently use Virgin Vie's Face Base in Ivory but my skin has gone bonkers lately (a combination of spots and dryness) and it just looks awful.

Can anyone recommend a good face base, preferably something easy to apply. Not too greasy but not too powdery either. I plan to plonk around the shop (and am at Heathrow on Saturday so could have a look in Duty Free) but would like some recommendations to start with please.

Thank you!

Based on this thread I have just bought Chanel Vit today and I am amazed at how brilliant it is. My face is no longer a network of lines and shadows -

VITALUMEIRE

Booby Brown for me

I want some commission from By Terry for my recommendations of their stuff on here.

Yes Vitalumiere goes very light, however is only for very pale yellow toned skin. If you are very pale with a pink undertone the stuff makes you look like a corpse.

I used Estee Lauder Double Wear once - it was like putting PVA glue on my face, so thick and difficult to apply. Stays on very well though - but you do look 'made up'.

Getorf- I tried Doublewear once, and agree totally. The Clinique ones made my skin like sandpaper and when I was "estee'd" last summer I looked like David Dickinson.

Estee Lauder Double Wear LIGHT (the non-Light one is way too heavy). I use this as my "special occasions" foundation, covers and lasts brilliantly.

I also have Clinique Almost Makeup, which is good as a light foundation, but a little oily by the end of the day.

I also found Chanel foundations way, way too yellow. (I am pale and not especially pink toned... just flat pale... but I looked like I was jaundiced in Chanel). Shame.

Just tried NARS sheer glow today and really like it.
