Ladies, welcome to Spring

OP posts:
MarshaBrady · 10/02/2010 16:12

Hahaha at Jesus Christ Superstar - that's the first time I've laughed today... I needed to. Thank goodness for mn.

It was a musical wasn't it.. I'm sure we bandied it about alot in our youth re sandals hahaha.

MarshaBrady · 10/02/2010 16:15

Oh and yes to other ones, have them on and haven't looked back (read already marked! Wearing suede has made me very aware of my feet and potential dirt!).

monkeysmama · 10/02/2010 16:55

MrsJ when I was a lot younger (and thinner) I would've worn those without batting an eye!

Did anyone keep their asos tops? I saw [http://www.asos.com/Reiss/Reiss-Cassi-Wool-Double-Frill-Cardigan/Prod/pgeproduct.aspx?iid=812989&ci d=9879&sh=0&pge=0&pgesize=-1&sort=-1&clr=Pearl+Blush this]] and thought it looked like a more luxury version of the cardigan?

What do you think of this Someone drew my attention to it on another thread. I need something to wear with my black and gold studded shoe boots on Friday to this lunch and again the week after next to a dinner. The most important thing atm is that it is forgiving on the waist as I have been eating like a piglet seem to have put some weight on this week.

LTEC I did think about taking the Maclaren but figured we'd be doing a lot of walking so the City Elite would be better. How wrong was I. Like that orange dress btw. On the subject of you going home, it would be nice to organise a meet (at the Hornimans ?) before you go.

monkeysmama · 10/02/2010 16:58

What do you all think to these too? I loved them when they were full price and think they'd suit my big feet far better than the nude patent ones I have had my eye on.

traceybath · 10/02/2010 17:24

MM - love that dress.

I saw these shoes today and they were lovely. May do my nude patent cravings as more day to day wearable.

Marsha - glad your day has got better. My DS1 is 5 and immensely strong willed/stubborn too.

hellsbelles · 10/02/2010 17:32

oh tracey - they are good. MM - I love Reiss shoes to look at but the few times I have bought them (may be the particular styles I got) they were feet killers...I do however have abnormally wide feet

And that dress does look as though it will be very flattering...though it is quite short? Can't quite tell how short.

hellsbelles · 10/02/2010 17:34

I posted other stuff earlier...can't see my post so assume it didn't work...but was gushing over LTEC's orange dress...you would look gorgeous in that.

Marsha - that dress is very pretty...but I do also see 'summer wedding abroad' as your DH said!!

monkeysmama · 10/02/2010 17:49

Glad the dress has got two thumbs up. Have ordered that and another Reiss one, the shoes and 2 belts. Will see what I like. Ah, feeling a bit down in the dumps is expensive!

LetThemEatCake · 10/02/2010 19:49

fab dress mm and sorry you're feeling a bit down. Read something interesting re emotional shopping in Red today, will post it later. And yes, definitely meet at the Horniman; we also go to your local park a lot in the summer so could meet you there too?

tracey I like those shoes a lot, also yours MM - seem to remember you have narrow feet so maybe width issues not a prob?

I sent back my Ombre asos top, kept the swan slub though

Very flattered that you think I could pull off the orange Halston hells (and love the Margot comment dexter; she is one of my alter-egos apparently!) - now if only had the lifestyle that required its purchase (and the budget!!)

Now, a dilemma for you. That Pure dress from the sale - with the bell sleeves etc - can't find the link now but maybe some of you remember? arrived today, Is quite unforgiving, very body-skimming, but I can see how it would look good (although doing nothing to disguise my hips) in -the- absence of love handles if I was slimmer . Do I keep in the expectation that I will go back to normal eventually or do I send back just in case this is the body I'm stuck with forevermore?

OP posts:
traceybath · 10/02/2010 20:10

LTEC - how does the dress work with a belt? I'm always wary of stuff that isn't intrinsically flattering to my shape.

God - am loving these see the photo of sjp in them.

LetThemEatCake · 10/02/2010 20:18

tracey am not a belt wearer, it just wouldn't happen. Me and accessories, we're not good mates, us.

So I should send it back? It's very classic and lovely but I fear that this equates to mumsy ... I can't tell any more.

Those shoes are really rather fabulous!! what colour?

OP posts:
traceybath · 10/02/2010 20:25

Well I've just sent back a white company dress as its too mumsy.

Well they only have my teeny tiny size in silver or cognac.

God silver sandals with white jeans will be sooooooo liz hurley won't it?

I like the natural colour so have emailed them to see if they have them in my size.

Fleecy · 10/02/2010 20:26

Sorry but I'm not sure about the shoes - like the whole clog thing that's going on, they're just quite clumpy!

But then, you are petite and slender so you could probably carry them off whereas I'd look heavy and thunderous of thigh with mum shoes on!

LetThemEatCake · 10/02/2010 20:29

those shoes in red with the Rats!!!

OP posts:
traceybath · 10/02/2010 20:32

I would look just like this ha ha ha ha

traceybath · 10/02/2010 20:34

I've got chills . . .

LetThemEatCake · 10/02/2010 20:37

tracey can you link to the WC dress so I can compare mumsy quotient pls?

my mental image of you has always been SJP actually, so that's weird.

OP posts:
traceybath · 10/02/2010 20:41

Its gone now as was in the sale but similar to this but with slimmer arms.

SJP - lordy I wish - now far too scared to ever put up a profile.

In my youth I was often compared to Kylie Minogue but those days are gone. I am older and she spookily looks 20 years younger.

LetThemEatCake · 10/02/2010 20:55

now there's a question - any of you lot on Facebook? There's been some doppelganger thingy this week - basically, change your profile pic to someone famous you've been told you resemble.

So? who?

Yes TB - she looks 20 years younger because she has been injected and frozen into facial paralysis. Trust me, it's nothing to do with the Aussie gene (feel very cheated otherwise!) Yet still has never found true love, nor been blessed with the 3 - or even one - dc.

You can keep your pert derriere, Kyles, you can keep it!!

OP posts:
hairyarseddave · 10/02/2010 20:58

LTEC - I think it should go back - knowing the laws of luck it'll only get moth eaten if you store it! There will be other jumper dresses

hairyarseddave · 10/02/2010 21:04

I think she's really made a mistake. I can understand she had huge huge pressure on her because there was so much press saying how wonderful she looked for her age (when she did naturally)...but I can't stand pillow face.

Dopplegangers - DH said I used to look very like her but with a big nose (he didn't say that about the nose - that is my honest addition!) that was about 15 years ago nowdays - well someone thought I'd be complemented by compared to Rikki Lake He said 'oh I mean now she's thinner' but FFS.

hairyarseddave · 10/02/2010 21:06

sorry - I'm hells by the way. Need to change back

eshermummy · 10/02/2010 21:13

LTEC - I wouldn't keep the Pure dress - they always trot out the same designs year after year so if you still want it next season it'll still be there. I really don't believe in buying anything that doesn't fit in the here and now (some leeway for pregnancy but not much).

MM - I like those Reiss shoes. Am not wild about the zip up Reiss dress - have you looked at whistles - am sure they had some zip detail black dresses that were a bit "edgier", also Oasis?

Tracey - am not sure whether I love or hate those swedish hasbeens - I saw a fab pair of clogs from hobbs in Red mag but don't seem to be on website yet. Not sure if those ones are a bit too pared down skandi for me - I want more bling and less scholl maybe?

Marsha - I have a very similar Rutzou summer dress that is same shape in cream heavy broderie anglaise with heavily embellished yoke. DH HATES it. Calls it one of Rusty Lee's cast-offs and refuses to be seen out with me in it!

Fleecy - thanks for the heads up re carrot jeans at fatface - they look quite promising.

LetThemEatCake · 10/02/2010 21:13

I THOUGHT you were hells!!

honestly though, I am 4 months post-birth. My body will change back a bit more, won't it? WON'T IT?? it always has before!!

btw, your slip-up earlier "good press" inst of "good price "- did I catch an inkling of your line of work in that?

by jingo, Yasmeen!! you must be gorgeous!!

OP posts:
LetThemEatCake · 10/02/2010 21:16

oops, cross post with esher. Okay, it's going back.

esher - you're not opposed to cheap shoes are you - what do you think of these for the rest of the cold months .. am back in my denim minis now, with thick tights etc - for the park & supermarche and all my other glitteringly fabulous diurnal outings?
