My new dresses arrived today...
Both Warehouse dresses,
www.warehouse.co.uk/fcp/product/fashion/Dresses/kimono-swirl-wrap-dress/299310
and
www.warehouse.co.uk//-/fcp-product/299121
are going back
lovely dresses, but the pleats on the waistband/hips don't suit me.
The Oasis one,www.oasis-stores.com/40's-Print-Dress/All-Dresses/oasis/fcp-product/3170069300 however,is fantastic!
Really flatering drapey jersey, great casual day dress, really flatering shape.
Definitely a keeper!

Excuse my spelling..flattering,of course.

mrsjuan · 09/02/2010 19:34

Hi all, not a great 24 hours here - DD seems better but I came down with the lurgy last night so that has not been fun. I think it's passed now but still feel like crap.

Hells -that dress is great

MM - Glad you had a good time. I love Paris -it must be a very different experience with children though. 2 jackets -you're going to have to show us

I like that tesco maxi dress and also the idea of looking like Nicole Richie but not sure if I'll have much occasion to wear it this year as we're not going anywhere hot - v of all these beach holidays!

hellsbelles · 09/02/2010 19:43

Oh mrsjuan you poor poor thing. Sending non MN type hugs your way (I promise I'm not from net mums)

Tracey - oh how I wish you lived nearer - you are my shopping partner in crime ...good old (young?) Daisy Lowe...she's having a fab time isn't she? She is indeed grungy but gorgeous bod....masses of admirers and still a mere babe. Oh what fun she must be having. I do wish I could go back in time and enjoy my frankly gorgeous pre DC bod (well sort of - always easy to look back through rose tinted glasses isn't it). I didn't appreciate it and kept it very much under wraps. What a waste!

Georgi - oasis dress sounds perfect and I like the look of the greatplains one. I love those kind of dresses...but only on other people....my nose is too big , and body too for pretty prints.

Do I get an award for overuse of smileys???

MarshaBrady · 09/02/2010 19:50

God I was just thinking that. Got a bit wistful about how skinny and pretty / striking I was in 20s and how I didn't wear clothes that are as beautiful as now.

I know the answer, it is to get skinny again, which reminds me thanks for running bra info all

Zembo · 09/02/2010 20:06

LTEC - thanks for the shoe links, like them both but still thinking about the Choos. The ankle strap doesn't bother me (although agree re:leg shortening properties) as will probably not be that visible the way I'd wear them.

Anyway have taken action and contacted the ebay seller who didn't manage to sell her black ones - fingers crossed she'll reply

I haven't looked for another pin for my travelwrap yet. On the upside I'm getting quite a bit of use out of my DKNY cozys as have been experimenting with different ways of wearing.

Zembo · 09/02/2010 20:08

Hells that AT dress is stunning - I want one!

LetThemEatCake · 09/02/2010 20:16

That reminds me - must list DKNY cozy on ebay. Zembo if I see another brooch, I'll link i - have a look on ebay actually, lots of lovely old pins and brooches to be had.

Welcome back MM!! Is it a bit to admit that I thought of you more than once over the weekend and hoped you were having a marvellous (and suitably stylish) time?

My god hells I heart that Temperley number ... gorgeous. Have you ordered the Olsen twins E&J top then? Be sure to report back!!

I'm also lamenting how little I appreciated or liked my looks & body in my youth ... I look at photos and think "but you're so gorgeous!!" as if I'm looking at someone who's not me ... and yet I remember feeling excruciatingly self conscious about how fat and ugly I was . Anyway, let this be a lesson to all of us - love how we look now, because we'll regret not appreciating it when we're 50.

GW - shame about the non-keepers but fab that you got a couple of good'uns in there

MrsJ - you poor thing, hope good health smiles on your household soon!

actually Hana - I did like her (although re-reading my post I've hidden that very well!) - I just thought she was a little thoughtless being quite so dismissive in front of her mother

traceybath · 09/02/2010 20:49

Not sure about the t-shirt LTEC but really do love that stripey dress especially as modelled by Laura Bailey.

Georgi - unlucky on warehouse dresses but good news re. the oasis ones.

MrsJ - hope you feel better soon.

hellsbelles · 09/02/2010 20:52

ltec - I did get the top. It is quite bulky but I think it works and at least it's not my usual black! Looks good with my jeggings and have yet to try with the rats - it may work!

LetThemEatCake · 09/02/2010 20:55

I am definitely having a "printed tee" moment

traceybath · 09/02/2010 21:10

Anyone else watching the baby programme on ch4 - must not get broody though!

Gggggrrrr - LTEC That was a tiger roar by the way.

SilverSixpence · 09/02/2010 21:12

Hi everyone,
went shopping on Oxford St today as had a day off. Surprised to find H&M is quite good this season, lots of nice silk blend tops and drapey cardigans. Got a lemon coloured top with a big bow on the front and am wearing it now with Martha jeans and a long grey cardi from Zara. Also got Heat tech tops and this jacket from Uniqlo. Also got these trousers on a whim but they look terrible so are going back! Maybe on some tall lithe person, but I have stumpy legs

Ended the shopping spree with this and thisfor work, and this fabulous dress for which I have no occasion!

I actually went to find a decent pair of straight slimmish work trousers but no luck there.

and btw Next really is as terrible as they say at the moment - see this eyesore!

LetThemEatCake · 09/02/2010 21:36

I've got one eye on it tracey

I have to say, am so glad that I didn't have any of my babies in hospital. They give me the heebie-jeebies.

Are you at all broody?? I really think I'm done.

Silver am glad you had a successful shopping day!! Glad, but a tad as well!

OP posts:
traceybath · 09/02/2010 21:42

Not broody really - 3 dc's is definitely it. But there's just something so utterly magical about a newborn isn't there.

Have had 3 c-sections though - couldn't do another one really.

hellsbelles · 09/02/2010 21:49

I'm taping that. I am really broody at the moment as DD is being totally delicious - she's at that perfect age where she's always trying to charm me (but not answering back ) - however it's not going to happen. I could not handle even a week on pregnancy bedrest again (and it's more likely to be 3-4 months like last time)

Silver - what a fab day you must have had loads of shopping bags and looked totally SATC!

OllieWollieWoo · 09/02/2010 21:51

You did well Silversixpence - its ages since I've had a successful shopping trip - measured in terms of how many bags I'm swinging on the way home!

My sister has ordered me this dress from (ssshhhh) Next (she's like my UK personal shopper!!!). Not sure - frills/print/elasticated waist may just be wrong - or is nice? Can't decide! Over to you:
here

LetThemEatCake · 09/02/2010 21:59

oh dear ... am crying

DC3 is 4 months old now .. can I still blame hormones?
