I have always worn foundation.

Only a tinted moisturiser in the day but now i am doubting myself...

I wear proper foundation if i am going out.

It is a waste though as i hardly ever go out [neglected] and the foundation lasts forever. It is probably not nice after 6 months.

largeginandtonic · 07/11/2009 14:58

Oh yes buy it Cornsilk.

We need you to report back on just how magic it is. Something so pretty surely has magical properties.

cornsilkwearscorsets · 07/11/2009 15:00

I also wera tinted moisturiser in the day. It soaks in after a few hours though. I wear vitalumiere only when I go out and it doesn't go off - I keep it for ages.

largeginandtonic · 07/11/2009 15:06

Where do you buy it?

Sounds like i need some.

cornsilkwearscorsets · 07/11/2009 15:10

vitalumiere is chanel
I'm defo going to buy the shiny thing then. It'll surely transform me into Kiera Knightly. (without the slapped arse expression though)

InterruptingKid · 07/11/2009 16:04

I've bought my winter one, I thought I was the only idiot one. I'm trying out Max Factor Second Skin. So far so good.

InterruptingKid · 07/11/2009 16:07

The lilac in the compact is to counteract shallow colouring, the rest is just to make you look shiney and healthy.

LaDiDaDi · 07/11/2009 16:26

What I need is a new blush/cheek tint thing. I'm getting to the end of my Benetint bottle and fancy a change.

Any recommendations?

tulpe · 07/11/2009 16:26

I switch to vitalumiere in the winter too. From April to September/early October I wear Chanel tinted moisturiser.

I wear foundation every day too. My make up takes approx 5 mins in the morning (foundation, loose powder, blush, sweep of neutral-ish colour on lids - Shroom by Mac, liquid liner and mascara).

If I go out in the evening, I wear my foundation a little heavier (tend to use to even out skintone during day rather than full-on coverage) and wear blues or greens eye makeup.

brimfull · 07/11/2009 16:33

we should remember when the clocks change it actually means change yer face

cornsilkwearscorsets · 07/11/2009 16:51

No not spending £100. It says something like £39-£100. It's my birthday soon anyway and dh has been asking me what I want. (extreme male brain)I want that! Anyway you can talk IK - you buy winter foundation. (they saw you coming...)

hatesponge · 07/11/2009 17:01

I only wear foundation in winter, love Vitalumiere but am using up some Max Factor stuff I was given before I buy a new one.

I never wear foundation in summer. sometimes tinted moisturiser if I remember.

InterruptingKid · 07/11/2009 17:29

i really rate either mac cream blush or bobbi brown pot of rouge
but get advice abotu colour - dont just buy normal

Right, I'm going to make more of an effort, if foundation can make me look as youthful and dewy eyed as LG&T then it's time I gave it a proper try.

I just can't see me managing full on foundation in 27 degree heat, so in terms of tinted moisturisers, what works then?

Corny, you can be the parma violet smelling, shiny thing, guinea pig.

I use Eclat Opulent by By Terry, it cost me £90

In my defence (she says defensively) I have very pale albeit pinky skin so have found it hard to get a match, Chanel and Chantecaiile do very pale biut are tyoo yellowy. Prescriptives makes me itch. The By Terry one is worth it, the texture is amazing and coverage is excellent.

Don't have a summer foundation - wear factor 50 all year round after skin cancer episode and this is the first year I haven't had a tan.

GetOrfMoiLand · 07/11/2009 18:17

Blusher - don't laugh but Tesco cream blush pots are the best cream blushes I have ever tried, 3 colours iirc and only £4.

Avoid Maybelline cream mousse blushers as texture is spooky

cornsilkwearscorsets · 07/11/2009 18:17

What is it then? Is it a foundation?

GetOrfMoiLand · 07/11/2009 18:20

Sorry yes it is foundation, comes in one colour (is a funny terracotta colour in the pot) but is adjusts to your skin tone once on. Looks a bit odd when first put on but magically adjusts. The texture is lovely, very silky. I used to use Double Wear by Estee Lauder, that is like putting pva glue on your face in comparison.

cornsilkwearscorsets · 07/11/2009 18:21
Envy
Themasterandmargaritas · 07/11/2009 18:28

at 90 smackers. Who or what is Terry?

InterruptingKid · 07/11/2009 18:30

i cant take it seriously as a brand
its all Hattie Jaques
