Following on from the other thread, I need some more inspiration for retail therapy

35
Liberty

That's about it, with the odd online Net-a-porter type whatsit.

Easy peasy.

bigTillyMint · 30/10/2009 18:11

Is Liberty an online store?

OP posts:
lucykate · 30/10/2009 18:11

i am 39

h&m
bit of boden (although not so much nowadays)
fat face (only occasionally)
white stuff
charity shops/vintage
primark
wrap (online, only ever in the sale)

MarshaBrady · 30/10/2009 18:12

No no, Liberty in Regent St.

Easy as it's only one place that has lots of stuff rather than walking around.

No loud music either and nice lighting (delicate ears, need comfort in ol age)

AlaskaNebraska · 30/10/2009 18:13

lol at liberty

see you coming?

lumpsdumps · 30/10/2009 18:13

I used to buy most of my clothes from principles, mainly because I worked for them. I really miss them, am finding it difficult to find black trousers for work that fit me as a petite.

I'm 34 by the way

Now I buy from
Topshop
Zara
H & M
Next
New Look

Le Bon Marche (Paris department store).

Occasionally pick up bits in my road, where there are lots of French middle market chain stores.

MaggieOicheSamhain · 30/10/2009 18:33

what's the french high street like anna?

EdgarAllenPoo · 30/10/2009 18:34

i too love liberty's - but unfortunately don't have the dosh or even the opportunity to go there.

they stock Sarah Arnett, a designer i particularly love, as well as Viv Westwood ..and plenty other stuff i'd love to drool over try on and not buy.

i really wish i'd blown less money on booze during my misspent youth, and more of it on clothes. They wouldn't fit now anyway...

MarshaBrady · 30/10/2009 19:16

I know I wish I could have shopped there at 25 rather than 35 when I could really do the insouciant aloof look properly.

Scowls at all the money I blew on high st stuff at 25. Didn't last...

I always see messy haired twenty year old young girls there, must have stacks of £ from somewhere

SorciereAnna · 30/10/2009 19:24

The French high street is very expensive! Hence there is much less difference in price in France between designer and high street clothing - and designer is much nicer!

I sometimes shop in the English high street which is super-bargainous, especially since the £ has been in the doldrums!

trixymalixy · 30/10/2009 19:38

Asda for jeans
Primark for knitwear
H&M

I think I have to be more choosy since having kids; pre-baby wardrobe was all skinny-rib tops and flared trousers [no-hope emoticon]. I feel like I've re-learned what suits the new me and I have to look that bit harder to find it...
