I'd like to know which shop specifically stocks mustard jumbo cords in a 42" waist

NyeEve · 11/10/2009 15:53

it was another world.
the mens HAIR is so vile.

Do you mean the custard coloured cord look, I know they are vivid but I am strangely partial to them on sixtyish men.

LaDiDaDi · 11/10/2009 15:56

Where have you been?

CybilLiberty · 11/10/2009 15:58

Races? Rugger? Wimbledon Village fair, sorry FAYRE was a riot of technicolour corduroy.

Me and dh have competitions to find the worst pair, or the gent who looks most like Mr Toad.

NorbertDentressangle · 11/10/2009 16:02

Don't forget the compulsory elbow patches too (in either leather or jumbo cord)

OliviaMumsnet · 11/10/2009 16:06

THey sell those cords in the back of the sunday times

ZZZenAgain · 11/10/2009 16:06

where was your initiation then?

Quattrocento · 11/10/2009 16:15

LOL. DH has a pair of mustard coloured cords. I try not to be seen with him when he wears them ...

NyeEve · 11/10/2009 16:17

VintageGaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahdenia · 11/10/2009 16:19

Oh I see you were somewhere where a shooting stick might have tumbled out of someone's 1982 Volvo, that sort of thing.

NyeEve · 11/10/2009 16:20

htere was a shooting stick
and lots of BAD jeans

I have just bought a Barbour coat, was going to post on here recommending it as an ideal school-run coat! Is quite a modern cut thought, not a big green waxed bag

bigpantywoman · 11/10/2009 16:21

Sounds like you were staying somewhere near me...not that I wear stuff like that, I hasten to add!!

NyeEve · 11/10/2009 16:21

these - rofl at surrey equestiran

Quilted body warmers for the ladies. Pref in dark green.

Paisley neck scarves.

Red ruddy cheeks for both sexes.

VintageGaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahdenia · 11/10/2009 16:23

Sounds like an outdoor meeting of Bottom-patters Anonymous.

MollieO · 11/10/2009 16:28

The other thing that is common amongst middle-aged upper class men is the wearing of red slighty too tight jeans. What's that about?

peanut08 · 11/10/2009 16:44

One of the mums at school is a classic sloane (sp?) ranger, pearls, neckscarf, quilted jacket the works. She sometimes even wears a green velvet hairband. She scares me.

Morosky · 11/10/2009 16:47

Well I have a barbour jacket and a quilted body warmer and am as working class as they come. I do however spend a lot of my time walking my dog across fields and up hills in the rain.

I do not possess coloured cords.

deaddei · 11/10/2009 16:50

Sounds like some of the parents at a school open evening recently...

bodycolder · 11/10/2009 16:51

I have a barbour and gucci loafers but no velvet hairbands .the men in golden cords are hilarious elegantly dishevelled

bodycolder · 11/10/2009 16:55

these are sloaney but I love them

CybilLiberty · 11/10/2009 16:56

yes they are lovely

pseudscorner · 11/10/2009 16:57

They sell mustard coloured cords in the men's section of H&M. So maybe they're back in fashion.
