Oh, love this thread. Squeaver - your pac a mac commment mnade me laugh and then wince. Mothererinferior and were had a whole conversation about pac-a-macs recently... [saddo emoticon].

I'm 41 and in the last year I seem to have applied a warm, cosy and unmovable layer of flab to every bit of me and my eyelids have turned to crepe paper. And has anyone else noticed their eyebrows getting paler? I feel like I am fading away.

janeite · 20/09/2009 17:20

Eyebrows - gosh yes. I thought it was just me: I had to look twice for them yesterday!

wilbur · 20/09/2009 17:21

Well I am a mere 35 and not really fat BUT

I have awful frown lines, a wobbly muffin top and look kind of bedraggled and grey in the mornings (make up makes me look almost alive )

I can't drink 2 nights in a row and it takes me 2-3 days to get over 1 drinking session

I wear crap clothes that are comfortable

Bloody great, Dh wants to go to Portugal....Wonder why

wilbur · 20/09/2009 17:23

Janeite - I was persuaded to have an eyebrow tint recently and it took about 15 years off me - I hadn't really noticed they'd disappeared until then. RIP eyebrows .

janeite · 20/09/2009 17:28

Really? Think I'd be terrified - I get scared even going to the hairdresser!

ilovemydogandmrobama · 20/09/2009 17:31

Have been a bit hazy about how much I weigh. Don't understand stone, gym only has scales in kilos blah blah blah.Worked out how much I weigh in pounds Mentioned it to DP who said, 'you look like you've had 2 kids...'

And think what were cute freckles are now sun spots.

Right, so what's this 4-3-2-1

DoNotBringLulu · 20/09/2009 17:32

Can I join in as a miserable 49 going on 108 wearing fatpants and a scowl that would curdle vinegar?

Megglevache · 20/09/2009 17:50

LOL at this thread title Noah.

I am an aging fucker who I think dressed a la mooton today {winces}

purplepeony · 20/09/2009 17:50

kerry you are doing really well, but I love humous too and was horrified at the calories in it- they use a lot of oil for it. Also, cheese and olives can be high in calories.

All I have had 2 day so far is a boiled egg for breccie, and 1 slice toast, homemade watercress oup fo r lunch and an apple, and tonight I am having a chicken roast with lods of veggies and tiny bit mash.

I am not on a diet- this is roughly how I eat every day to keep a size 10 at 5' 3" and aged 50+. I have an allergy to wheat and dairy so cakes etc are out unless just a tiny bit.

I will have humuus for lunch some days or other homemade soup, or a sardine salad, and eat fish for dinner 3x a week.

I also walk/run as kerry says 4- 5x a week.

BalloonSlayer · 20/09/2009 17:51

For tummy reducing I found cutting carbs drastically in the evening worked well. Particularly wheat carbs.

I was having a lot of things like pasta meals with bread as well. If I have instead protein (chicken something) and a big salad my stomach disappears in a matter of days. I have only lost about half a stone I reckon but I measured my waist at Christmas (and yes it was with a tape measure from a cracker so must have been after a big meal) and it was 35" - now it's 29"

Or just reducing carbs to a sensible level, this is very helpful in getting your portion control sorted.

GentleOtter · 20/09/2009 17:53

Megglevache - I read that as Motown and thought you were being secretly trendy.
