I have that NF Artic Parka - IL's bought it on my behalf on a trip to the US last year and I lived in it the whole winter - tis lovely and I don't regret begging them to squeeze it into their luggage for me.

Also I ordered it in white (I love white and wear a lot of white) and despite having a then 2 yr old and a not quite 1 yr old I only had to wash it a few times throughout the winter - I swear it must be impregnated with Teflon or something?! (Or maybe I need stronger contact lenses )

Anyway, well worth the money imo

Prunerz, is this the one you mean www.tauntonleisure.com/products/the-north-face-insulated-grace-jacket--womens-/5415/?source=froogle& utmsource=productfeeds&utmmedium=googleproducts_froogle

brokenspacebar · 18/09/2009 23:55

this looks good? where can you buy didriksons' clothing in the uk? I have bought their waterproof clothes for my dc, dungarees and jackets and they are really good.

brokenspacebar · 18/09/2009 23:56

sorry linked to the Thelma woman's coat in red, knee length.

VulpusinaWilfsuit · 19/09/2009 00:00

OH yeah, loving Thelma. V Good. No, really - lovely.

Now all we need is a Swede to send em over

Ceolas · 20/09/2009 13:38

Am tempted by this but not seen it in the flesh yet.

brokenspacebar · 20/09/2009 21:26

That looks interesting Ceolas - let me know if you do get to see it.

Vulpusina - I have a possible Swedish contact, I will let you know if I have any success!

gomez · 21/09/2009 22:54

Although my Didriksons suggestion was ignored [sob] I can provide a link for a UK supplier

VulpusinaWilfsuit · 21/09/2009 22:56

Thanks anyway Gomez

brokenspacebar · 21/09/2009 23:18

Sorry Gomez, I noticed your link but it came up just with a page of coats, didn't see you had said the name, it is lovely, I like it in black and white, in fact I like lots of their coats.

lavenderkate · 21/09/2009 23:47

Try Aigle. Saw a lovely advert for a wide variety in amgazine recently. Same as what that nice girl on `springwatch' wears (Somebody humble?)

gomez · 22/09/2009 13:46

No apologies needed, honestly I was just being daft.

brokenspacebar · 22/09/2009 14:04

I know but it is nice to be acknowledged! Cheers for the link btw, I am very tempted and even looking at cosy things for the dc.

Ringrosey · 30/09/2009 16:22

This is hilarious!! I rang my sister this morning specifically to ask if the L's E coat was too sad/middle-aged/frumpy for me (she said yes, definitely!), then just did a google-search for 'long warm waterproof coat' and first result was this thread! At least I know I'm not the only one who think's there's a need. But maybe we've all got it wrong and we should be going for the layers and hat option...

brokenspacebar · 01/10/2009 13:33

Surely Ringrosey, you would still need a waterproof layer? And, if layering, I would end up looking like a snowball, being short.

I can't see the L E squall suiting me, so I am still looking!

MorrisZapp · 01/10/2009 16:55

Forget the Fat Face parka. I saw it in real life at the weekend and it's as light as a summer jacket yet oddly has fur around the hood.

I'm gutted as I had high hopes it would be this winter's godsend.

brokenspacebar · 01/10/2009 17:23

I have given up on the high street for warm winter coat, I am looking for not too ugly insulated, waterproof knee length coat - not something the high street does well - so I am looking at places like cotswold outdoors etc.

Fulltimeworkingmummy · 13/10/2010 18:52

Oh and anyone still looking for a Wakefiled they seem to have some on here!

There's a lovely insulated & waterproof coat called the 'Astana' on the Mac in a sac website >> www.macinasac.com/target-dry-ladies-astana-coat

teamaster · 08/11/2011 17:14

Oops. Here's a better link >> Target Dry Astana Coat
