Hi I thought I would start a thread to ask.
Sorry if it's been done but I couldn't find it.

Anymore around?

The Merrell looks great, but is it nice and toasty?

NoahDear · 15/09/2009 17:37

i likey

dexter73 · 15/09/2009 18:28

I have no idea. I just saw it when I was cruising the web and thought it looked nice!

Jumente · 16/09/2009 09:54

I had a look at the Fatface one this morning, sadly it doesn't look waterproof - the outside is nice and soft, says it is cotton, but it's deffo not waxed.

Which is a relief or i might have felt obliged to buy it

I came away with a beautiful pair of boots though...

Jumente · 16/09/2009 09:55

Dexter - that's quite a nice site, I managed to get a white stuff skirt muchly reduced - thankyou!

dexter73 · 16/09/2009 09:58

Glad to be of service Jumente! I haven't ordered anything from them but I often have a little browse through the White Stuuf clothes myself.

cremolafoam · 16/09/2009 13:23

ooh ooh Jumete- did you get the Tahoe boots?
I got them in Petunia colour and they are fabtastic.
shame the coat is not waxed cotton-I assumed Fatface would approch the problem with a more practical outlook.what is the point of a non waterproof coat in Britain FGS.?

Jumente · 16/09/2009 16:18

I know! It was a very nice coat, but I am of an age now where practical has to slightly supercede beautiful... on so many levels

Having never been quite beautiful this is of great comfort.

Do you find yours wide/large? Maybe my feet are a bit funny.

cremolafoam · 16/09/2009 16:47

yes quite wide- even though I have wide feet. However size length wise perfect. I do a lot of tramping about and wanted something super comfortable ( old crone )Love the colour which is a navy/violet inky colour.

Prunerz · 16/09/2009 16:50

I have the non-insulated version of this:
www.sheactive.co.uk/item_detail.html?&itemno=5937&type=sport&group=3

It's great.

cremolafoam · 16/09/2009 17:05

I like that on Pru, but unfortunately not the colour.
I would look like an iceberg.
Still i like the belted shape and hood.

gomez · 16/09/2009 17:15

This is fab www.didriksons.com/collection.asp?typeId=&usageId=&systemId=1&sizeId=2. But not at all warm, only waterproof. Generous sizing so great over big cardigan for example.

cremolafoam · 16/09/2009 17:15

my mum has just got this
and do you know what? It's quite nice actually.

gomez · 16/09/2009 17:16

Sorry crap link it is the Liza Printed Womans Coat I meant.

Prunerz · 16/09/2009 17:16

I have it in brown - DH got it from the US.

It's fab. I emailed North Face to tell them to market it in Britain (this was in spring when everyone is looking for a raincoat that actually repels rain and has a proper hood etc) and was told they don't have any plans to. Loons.

If they did it in nicer colours I'd have more than one.

LetThemEatCake · 16/09/2009 17:18

right, have ordered the North Face Arctic Parka and will report back when it arrives.

noddyholder · 16/09/2009 17:27

I might get this as I need one but can't justify the £ of anything like North face atmwww.millets.co.uk/clothing/women/jackets/product/042121.html#

noddyholder · 16/09/2009 22:53

Is this so hideous I killed the thread?

LadyGlencoraPalliser · 16/09/2009 22:57

It's the picture. The faceless hood is rather sinister, like there might be a dementor lurking in there. People are too freaked out to post.

noddyholder · 16/09/2009 23:06

I have seen it in the short version and its very nice Will look tomorrow and report as its a v good price.Didn't mean to scare all the coat hunters

VulpusinaWilfsuit · 16/09/2009 23:13

Still loving the Northface one. Might save up for that.

I have the Landsend stadium squall. Very practical but a bit tent-like (needs a more fitted shape IMHO) so not sexy at all. But brilliant on freezing wet days when you need to be dry and wear 8 million layers.

Have another thread looking for a Belstaff jacketor rather a Belstaff-a-like but not so hideously expensive. So very cool. With a hat, would do me I think. But do not have 300 quid for a coat ...

LetThemEatCake · 16/09/2009 23:14

I was just sulking bc you didn't seem to think my NF was worth it

But I do like yours, despite spooky faceless thing that lurks within

noddyholder · 16/09/2009 23:22

I love NF have had my eye on one too but have lots of building going on and no spare £! I had a friends old belstaff waxed thing hand me down and loved it but left on ferry in greec

FlyMeToDunoon · 18/09/2009 14:19

I got my Land's end stadium squall today.
Although it is a petite small it is roomy on me and I am 5'8" and a 10.
Shapeless but very cosy feeling, light and I love the purple colour. Am feeling fully prepared for the autumn/winter school nursery run downpours.

Jumente · 18/09/2009 17:30

I am so pleased you like it Flyme

I want a belstaff but can't justify it till I get another motorbike...
