Am I the only person lusting after a parka this autumn? I work in a department store doing visual presentation and I keep dressing mannequins in them - they look fab and feel so cosy!!

I agree with LTECs suggestion of long cardis for bf. they cover baby, flabby tummy and any exposed norkage

and if you have a tiny waist to show off you can always belt them ( when not feeding of course)

i have just finished 5 years of bf ( different babies!! ) and have a wardrobe full if 'em. glad they are still on trend -ish

i just bought my first pair ever of skinny jeans and you lot are to blame

i look ridiculous in them at first (solid thighs and skinny ankles) but once i've got my knee-high boots on they all balance out and my legs look sensible again.

only problem is they need a belt because the waist is huge even though the hips and legs fit nicely.

oh yes ... I am lusting after a parka

KristinaM · 03/09/2009 22:09

they have nice ones in Zara for about .....£850 less than that

NaptimeRocks · 07/09/2009 14:47

I'm bumping this is the hope that Tulpe is going to say the Boden straight leg jeans were perfect and didn't encourage muffin top...

P.S. I'm the OP with a modified nickname.

I have a specific (boring!) style the suits me (I think?) of dresses or tops-and-skirts over thick black tights or leggings, worn with boots.

So far my 'capsule wardrobe' consists of:

3 x pairs of boots - slouchy tan leather ones, studded black high heeled ones and some Uggs. Only the black ones are new.

Lots of leggings (Top Shop extra long black ones are the best!), thick black tights and patterned black/charcoal grey tights (all from Primark for £2-ish. GSurprisingly good quality).

Various types of black or charcoal grey top - long, 3/4 or short sleeved. Mostly from Topshop or Dotty Ps.

Various dresses - mostly cheap & cheerful (Peacocks, Matalan, Primark and high street shops) fitted tops with flary skirts.

Lots of cheapo accessories - big, stretchy, wide belts a must. Love gun metal silver/grey or that kind of bronze 'old gold' jewellery. Also lots of colourful beads.

Various styles of black cardi - long sleeved Grandad oneas from Topshop are my favourite

2 parka jackets - an army green one (New Look) and a slightly shimmery black one (M&S last year)

god i dont think wide belts look nice on ANYONE aprt from size 8s

BerylCole · 07/09/2009 16:14

Really? No! Wide belts are a huge staple of my wardrobe

I'm a 14, but a right lankster, so probably appear a 12

Dresses need belts!

NoahFence · 07/09/2009 16:15

Hmm
i am short wasited so any waist belt is proppping up tits.

rarely see a waist belt looking nice

KristinaM · 10/09/2009 07:55

i think the belt thing depends on your shape rather than your size

i am a 10 and look terrible in wide belts but i am curvy and short waisted.but soemone with a longer waist can look great in them, espcially if you need to add curviness IYSWIM
