OK, what winter coat have you all gone for this year? Pics please!

Am in need of inspiration!

Pointydog, I only get one when the old coat makes me look like I walked off the set of a period drama. LIfe on Mars eg.

I think if you need a coat you have to buy early or all the nice ones will be gone.

Some lovely coats on this thread: I like the Uptown in Teal, the arctic parka, the Redoute coats, and esp. the navy Fahri one.

Have just bought a very £££ leather jacket, which I'm hoping will get me through the mild SW winter. Have a old H&M cheapie and a really old down coat if it gets too freezing.

Just back from a shopping trip and saw that Benetton had loads of winter coats in various styles - lot of funnel neck types tho - and not just black or grey. Maybe worth a look?

Am waiting till I go to our local Boden Town Hall Sale and getting at least 3 for the normal price of 1 so I have many coats in different colours!

(For a while people recognised me by my green coat and I vowed I would never let that happen again!)

last winter was absolutely freezing, and before christmas too. Late november I ordered a north face coat. never thought I'd wear one of those yokes. but my belted plaid coat was like a tea bag in the really really cold weather that we got LOTS of last winter, don't forget it! last winter wasn't mild.

I am seriously considering buying a down coat this year, I may give into practical, but I do fear the michelin man look, esp being such a short arse!

Kisassangel, my mind can only cope with Celsius but nose freezing is cold!

Wallace we shall hunt for a coat, and maybe move out of the style threads for a while lol! One thing around here is that being so far removed from fashionable places, I don't feel too bad about it.

Oooohhhh I have a lovely brown hooded North Face Coat - it is the Men's one though as I don't like the ladies ones that they do - I have had it for 3 winters so far and it is brilliant - have been dog walking on a cold day through the corn fields with snow blowing everywhere and I am still toasty.

This is in addition to proper winter coat though!

DH has a Canada Goose one that was very expensive but is like being wrapped in a duvet with a heated blanket inside it!

Good I'm not the only one with an older model.

I found a down filled knee length coat with detachable hood about six years ago. It's a zip front, and also shaped, so no freezing draughts, and I don't look like the abominable snowman.
