If I show you my favourite RL dress (and some others I'm considering)

If I show you a pic of my favourite RL dress will you help me find others I might like? There are none in the shops that I could see when I went ot look, but I know you lot are expert internet-finders!

Pic is on profile. Jersey material, the V neck is quite low, it's just above the knee.

I've been looking on ebay and seen

this one but it's a bit dark

and this one

and this one

but they're all 3/4 sleeves rather than v short sleeves.

What do you think?

I saw a lovely dress in White Stuff in town but it was about 4 inches longer than I wanted (below knee rather than above). How easy d'you think it is to take something up? Or is that a stupid idea to be reserved for charity-shop finds?

that is very true trillian.....

TrillianAstra · 05/06/2009 12:19

ooooh, I like this one

OP posts:
TrillianAstra · 05/06/2009 12:20

and this one

PuppyMonkey · 05/06/2009 12:22

I have bought the second one Trillian!

Swedes · 05/06/2009 12:25

Bravissimo do some DVF type jersey dresses.

TrillianAstra · 05/06/2009 12:30

Bravissimo also make them with room for ample norkage don't they Swedes? I might need padding! They look really nice though - it's like when you accidentally wander into the materinity section and think 'ooh, I like that one' and it tuns out they only mkae it with bump-space!

TrillianAstra · 05/06/2009 12:32

What's the wilde heather one like PuppyMonkey? How deep is the V? Does the skirt go out much?

Castiel · 05/06/2009 12:37

Ooh you like Wheel of Time.

I had a dress like that from Principles. They don't exist anymore do they?

That was fairly useless wasn't it?

But still, Robert Jordan RIP.

TrillianAstra · 05/06/2009 12:40

Hello! Yes I love Wheel of Time, trying to get DP to read it. He's on book 6 and saying 'it's juyst following Egwene and she's not doing anything' and I@m like 'just a bit more, then she (dont' read this if you dno't know) gets summoned to be Amrylin and it's much more interesting'

Principles, hmm...

OP posts:
TrillianAstra · 05/06/2009 12:45

Looks like Principles do exist in Debanhams but nothign there that really grabs me.

TrillianAstra · 05/06/2009 12:48

I'm searching 'all day dresses' in Debenhams now.

this one looks nice, but 'casual collection' sounds like code for 'frumpy section'. Anyone have any thoughts?

OP posts:
jambutty · 05/06/2009 12:49

this one?

Swedes · 05/06/2009 12:52

iirc Bravissimo do three sizes for each 8, 10, 12, 14, etc, Super Curvy, curvy and Keira Knightly eggs over-easy.

Swedes · 05/06/2009 12:54

Actually I'm wrong. They only do two sizes - both for huge bosoms. Sorry.

PuppyMonkey · 05/06/2009 12:55

Skirt is lovely on the one I've got Trillian. Not to wide. But it is a little below the knee though.

PuppyMonkey · 05/06/2009 12:56

ooh., yes... the V neck is ok., but I wear it with a little white lacy top underneath too and it goes really nice. I saw it styled like that in the shop, so copied.

TrillianAstra · 05/06/2009 12:56

The bravissimo one I clicked on had curvy, really curvy, super-curvy. The 'curvy' is for D-E cup, hardly Keria Knightley. No mention of what to do if you're a mere B-cup

Love the colours on that fatface one jambutty, but saw it in store and thought the material wouldn't drape very nicely.

FigmentOfYourImagination · 05/06/2009 12:59

Bravissimo is for ladies with larger norks.

TrillianAstra · 05/06/2009 12:59

That's what I'm after Puppy, one that you would want to put a top underneath if you were, for example, going to talk to DCs teacher, but that could be left open if you didn't need to look so respectable

OP posts:
Swedes · 05/06/2009 13:00

Yes, sorry, I had no idea they were only for the huge-bosomed.

TrillianAstra · 05/06/2009 13:02

I am not a lady with large norks. Not in the slightest. I was replying to Swedes saying they had a small-bosom size, but she's already corrected it (x-posting)

OP posts:
TrillianAstra · 05/06/2009 13:02

Could be useful if anyone else is reading and thinks - I want a dress like that too.

OP posts:
TrillianAstra · 05/06/2009 13:06

someone else who is better endowed on the norkage front...

OP posts:
Castiel · 05/06/2009 13:07

DH made me read WoT. Lots of ensuing arguments about who's feistier, Nynaeve or Egwene (who is an utter drip btw). I like Perrin too and dh says I should like Mat but my heart belongs to the wolfy one. Final one's out in a couple of months, be interesting to see how it compares to the others. Er, anyway, dresses...
