I have bought a dress off ebay for a formal summer charity do, ive put the picture on my profile, hopefully it is visible.
I am rubbish at dressing up so please help me find shoes/accessories as i dont even know what colour to go for.
The dress is a dark bluey purple with black lace over the top.
Do i need anything over my arms?
Final question, im a bit scared of it slipping down a bit too far, any top tips to keeping it in place?
Please help!

OP posts:
JeanPoole · 20/05/2009 15:22

i bet our dd would love to play together.

we wouldn't even have to entertain them they would entertain each other.

can see watch tv orsomething till your mom gets there? or play being lazy, which i waas doing with dd today which is basically cuddling up on a blanket snuggling together.

ilovetochat · 20/05/2009 15:28

dd has woke from nap crying and has now fallen asleep on my lap
she has been lovely today hugging and kissing me saying dont worry mommy and making me pretend tea.
id love our dds to play together, cant persuade you onto a cruise in sept can i?

OP posts:
JeanPoole · 20/05/2009 15:32

oh yes! i won't need persuading!
dh will be working though as usual.

awww bless her looking after you.
they are so lovely

ilovetochat · 20/05/2009 15:36

now is my favourite age so far, dd is my little best friend, walking along telling me to look at pretty flowers and the other day i sneezed and she said whats wrong mommy dont cry. she tells me things like i dont know them too which makes me laugh, if i say ill get the milk, she says here it is in fridge, i found it, like i couldnt find the milk, ha ha.

ilovetochat · 20/05/2009 15:58

OP posts:
JeanPoole · 20/05/2009 16:09

awwwww.

that must be lovely

JeanPoole · 20/05/2009 17:27

is your mom there now?

hopefully your tucked up in bed
either watching tv or Mn on your laptop

ilovetochat · 20/05/2009 18:35

mom came and waited with me till dp got home at 4.30, his course ended early. then mom had to get back to stepdad as they had 2 pieces of very bad news today, stepdads dad has bladder cancer and stepdads aunt has 6 months to live with bowel cancer. its a terrible time!
dp has made dinner and taken dd out for a walk and i have been resting on the sofa, no laptop though unfortunatley. starting being sick again just before my mom got here but ok at the moment.
thanks for your concern for me

OP posts:
JeanPoole · 20/05/2009 21:27

Oh I am so sorry to hear that

how awful.

are you close to your stepdad and his aunt?
cancer seems to be everywhere these days
did you know they where ill?

i'm glad your dp is taking care of you.
maybe an early night?
hope you feel much better tomorrow, well illness wise i mean.

ilovetochat · 21/05/2009 13:26

feel a bit better today, no more sickness although my stomach still hurts and im aching particularly my neck. dp got up at 5am with dd and then got her up at 7am and gave her breakfast so he has been good looking after us.
I am very close to my stepdad, dd loves her grandad and has been asking for him today, but i dont know his dad only met him once, i know his aunt quite a bit and mom and my stepdad holiday with her and are very close as they are the same age. stepdad bought me some medicine round last night but he wouldnt get out the car as he was too upset.
last year dps parents had a stroke and cancer and both recovered and now this.

JeanPoole · 21/05/2009 15:09

oh dear, such alot of stress to cope with at once.
its strange how life ticks along fine for a while then when things happen/go wrong lots of things seem to happen all at once.

you illness sounds really horrible do you think you need to see a doctor?
do you think you could be pregnant?
its weird to get the pain in your neck isn;t it.

i find a nice hot bath with lavender drops helps when i feel ill.
i don't know why. just does.

take care
glad your dps looking afetr you

ilovetochat · 21/05/2009 15:16

thanks, dont think i need the doc, think im getting better. shouldnt be pregnant and had no sickness last time so dont see it as a posibility. had a lovely long bath last night which made me feel more human.
how are you and dd? is her bday soon?

OP posts:
JeanPoole · 21/05/2009 21:51

Hi love to chat, how are you now? better i hope.

well we had a great weekend, the weather was sunny and lovely.
the hotel was fab.
we had a lovely meal.

i had crab cakes, dh had mackeral, then i had beef dh had duck then we finished with a trecle tart with butter scotch sauce and clotted cream, with some sugar snap creation ontop.

oh that was lovely
dd had a bowl of chips
with bit of everything else the duck beef and fish.

we also had a nice lunch when we got there over looking the sea.

she loved the beach, she was running and laughing, there was sort of sandpools, like rockpool minus the rocks

she was paddling and falling over on purpose!
she got soaked through.
we did a few sandcastles.
then we went to the hotel pool, was lovely and warm.

the second day, dd found a little friend on the beach.

we would love to go to that hotel again.
i think i'll post the reccomendaation on chat for any other mums.

i think our next weekend away will be to lowestoft, a tad cheaper than sandbanks.
2 sarnies and drinks for lunch was 30quid!

ilovetochat · 27/05/2009 14:20

glad you had a good time, sounds lovely
I am much better now thanks and we had a good weekend playing outside and going to local parks.
dd is cutting 3 teeth so has been crying out in pain and her fingers are red from sucking/biting them poor thing but at least its getting them all out the way at once i suppose.
she has also started some major tantrums, throwing herself backwards, screaming and biting me hard, she actually says il bite before doing it she gets so angry. terrible twos starting already
dd has been invited to a swimming party saturday so im looking forward to that, she will love it.
i now cant wait for our holiday, i hope we have nice weather then too as i cant wait to see dd on the beach, last year she was only crawling when we went so it will be nice to see her running about.

OP posts:
JeanPoole · 27/05/2009 18:26

oh good i'm glad your better
what do you think it was, a bug maybe?

aww your poor dd with her teeth.
its not much for them.

the trantrums are hard work aren't they? dd have a few today, she threw her playdoh across the kitchen, she was doing playdoh while i was making the tea.
i hop neither of them start with the head banging.
what do you do when she says i'll bite!

we are going for our usual thu swim tomorrow, the out with dds cousins fri, mum and dads on sat.

got a thread that might be interesting for you
here

ilovetochat · 27/05/2009 19:50

when she tries to bite me and sometimes succeeds i have been saying no and putting her down or moving her away from me and she sits quiet and then comes over for a cuddle, its like she cant control her emotions, she is getting far more loving and cuddly but also more aggressive.
i think i had a bug but the effects of tiredness and achiness lasted about 5 days, very waring.
we dont have much on this week as its half term but we had a library session today, my dad is coming tomorrow and i think baby gym is still on fri.
i had a look at your thread, sounds like the move is more a possibility than ever. i like a lot of the older houses you linked to, the bournemouth one looked lovely!
