I remember in the 1970s an article in the Sun telling us all how to get a Farrah Fawcett-Majors do on the cheap: put an elastic band round your hair somewhere around the middle of your head, cut off at the band and - ta da! - lovely layers.

Caused havoc and dismay at Kesteven and Grantham Girls' School, that's for sure.

RL mates all liked and SAID they were v surprised i'd cut it myself. Even hairdresser mate.

HOWEVER - they are all newish mates and I am not 100% that they are as honest as me they could be -= I am "blunt friend" when asked opinion on hair, clothes etc.

Have anohter mate coming for dinner tonight, with camera phone. Will ask for (a) opinion and (b) pics to be uploaded onhere for the MN vipers verdict
