stillenacht · 12/04/2009 18:04

3 pairs of shoes

Boots
trainers
heel boots for work and with trousers/jeans

twinsetandpearls · 12/04/2009 18:05

stillenacht you have work to do.

stillenacht · 12/04/2009 18:07

I hate shopping and I have never seen the attraction with loads of shoes...I don't get it...

twinsetandpearls · 12/04/2009 18:16

Because I tend to be too fat for nice clothes but can always squeeze my porkies into nice shoes with a matching handbag. I was devestated to realise I went up a shoe size after having dd though.

stillenacht · 12/04/2009 18:17

I am a size 10 so its not easy having masssssiiiiiiive feet like mine

stillenacht · 12/04/2009 18:18

I was a size 8 at 11 Am soooo jealous of those people with size 3/4/5 feet.

lljkk · 12/04/2009 18:45

I never throw out shoes that still fit and aren't falling to bits, so...

2 x wellies (1 B+Q, 1 Hunters)
1 x slippers
2 x trainers

  • 1 x lace up brown leather man's shoes (my main shoes in winter)
  • 1 x Decathalon sandals (will be my main shoes this summer) 1 x trainer style cycling shoes 1 x cycling sandals (my very favourite pair of all ) "Dressy" shoes I could wear for a night out, job interview or wedding: 1x red pair (20+yrs old) 1x white pair (20+yrs old) 1x grey pair (20+yrs old) 2x black pairs 1x pumps (worn at my wedding)

So what's that... 15 pairs? And very few that most MNers would be caught dead in .

I really want a pair of nice boots (low heel, fur lined, soft suede outer) but nothing like that fits my planks wide feet.

FigmentOfYourImagination · 15/04/2009 10:56

stillenacht - Long Tall Sally do shoes in Uk sz10 and there is lots of choice here too

Big feet doesn't have to equal crap/no shoes

DontCallMeBaby · 15/04/2009 11:56

Red Converse
Black Crocs
Purple Crocs
Silver Birkis
Navy Merrell sandals
Beige Merrell sandals
Brasher walking boots
Black stiletto knee boots
Black flat knee boots
Black Emu boots
Black DM wedges
Tan DM wedges
Black Mary Janes
Black DM dealer boots
Beige Art sandals
Red trainers
White Nike trainers
Baby blue ballet flats
Black Clarks shoes with a zip
Black Jones loafers
Little Miss Matched flipflops
Furry leopard effect slipper boots
Black Huntress wellies (Hunters for fat legs)

I really love my Converse, Birkis and the two pairs of DM wedges, most of the others serve a purpose but tbh I could live without. The flipflops are too small, I never wear the trainers, and I only wear the ballet flats if I'm desparate and not going to walk anywhere much.

This summer, I am mostly wanting a pair of white (not optical white) lo Converse, and red DM Mary Janes.

PlumpRumpSoggyBaps · 15/04/2009 12:37

7 pairs of boots (knee high black, knee high brown, 2 of each), 2 x brown ankle boots, 1 pair high heeled black boots. About fifteen pairs of shoes (not enough!!) including one pair bought on a whim that DH loves (cos v high and strappy) and have never worn because we don't go anywhere I could wear them. (And no. Will not wear them 'in the bedroom'. They are my hostages, blackmail 'take me out, we never go out' shoes).

2 pairs of trainers. Both need replacing but I hate trainer shopping.

And they're all jumbled up at the bottom of my wardrobe. Some have even got dust on.... (but none are v posh)

numptysmummy · 15/04/2009 12:47

Have got shoe envy now

moonmother · 15/04/2009 13:06

Oh, I need to add a pair to my list...

These arrived this morning. They are FABULOUS. Make my legs look a mile long

LauriefairycakeeatsCupid · 15/04/2009 13:58

87 pairs of shoes

FigmentOfYourImagination · 15/04/2009 14:17

I'd like these and these and these.

FigmentOfYourImagination · 15/04/2009 14:19

£1085 for 3 prs is a bit steep for my pocket though. It has to be said

Cecchetti · 07/12/2020 07:27

Wow, I love gorgeous shoes but have sensitive feet as an ex ballerina and also now osteoporosis

This is my Total at the end of 2020(wish I had many many more, have a Wishlist

1,2)-2 pairs black patent slippers

1 nearly worn out-split soles etc
1 new this summer in sale to be broken in

3)One pair ankle boots in black-these are most comfortable , must get another pair next year

4)One pair navy lace up shoes-not worn much as my cats chew up the laces and a new kitten expected end December

5)One pair black shoes, really uncomfortable when bought in 2018 but had them stretched and now wear all the time, although now winter might change to boots..

I love shoes so much I should have loads, but I spend my money on other things-but collection to be added to next year...

evilharpy · 07/12/2020 08:10

Not a clue. Millions. I can think of four pairs of Chelsea boots and seven pairs of brogues alone. And many many pairs of trainers.

If I don't end up going back to the office five days a week when this is all over, I definitely need to rethink the shoe situation.

Cecchetti · 07/12/2020 08:15

@diedandgonetodevon

I'm a shoe junkie . My collection is probably pushing 200 by now.
Oh lucky you! I love shoes so much, but I spend on cats and coats and bags-next year I Must get new footwear!xx
TottiePlantagenet · 07/12/2020 08:47

Around 80, not counting flip flops or walking boots.

They're mostly kept in their boxes in the wardrobe or under the bed. I also have a handy app on my phone with photos of the shoesSmile, to search by colour or heel height etc. when I'm trying to decide which pair to wear with an outfit - for when we used to go out.

Haven't worn heels all year, walking boots have been the most worn shoes for me (comfy but boring).

InJest · 07/12/2020 10:18

I pretty much only wear my trainers. Have to make an effort to remember to wear the others.

x1 hiking boots
x2 ankle boots
x1 trainers
x1 ballet flats
x1 plimsoles
x1 flat sandal
x2 heeled sandals
x3 heels which havent left the house in years. Keeping for "occasions" so I dont have to rebuy.

Glad you asked OP. I need to start rotating my footwear. My footwear always lets my outfits down.

Pumkinseed · 07/12/2020 10:21

1 x Doc martens boots
1 X Birkenstock sandals
1 X canvas shoes
1 X Clarks office shoes
1 X addidas Samba

so 5 pairs in total. I could not cope with more. All that mental energy that goes into deciding what to wear. I have one pair of shoes for each possible 'occasion' and it works fine.
