"European costume" fancy dress theme for New year's eve party. Grrrr.....

I don't mind the theme so much, and can just about bear the fact that there's dressing up at all....

What really pees me off is that if you don't comply, there's a forfeit!!!

Call me grumpy but that doesn't sound like fun to me.

And what the hell am I going to wear?

Heidi was Swiss not Austrian but since you were relieved to have missed the Bavarian party, I assume you are nor likely to go for a dirndl or lederhosen anyway.

Big blonde wig, lots of fake tan / make up and a revealing dress and you could pass as Donatella Versace.

Abba sounds good if you have a sparkly jumpsuit in your wardrobe. (doesn't everyone?)

Valley Commando is an option- must have cheap alcopop in hand as well!

It's very true though. SAS style planned mission to go into Cardiff, get pissed and shag as many blokes as is humanely possible? Commando is perfect, especially as I'm sure quite a few go as per the description.

Why don't you apply Duotan in deep deep mahogany (applied a minimum of 3 times for required build up), pull on a leopardskin thong, throw a towel over your shoulder and go as a German on holiday? Have you got the gut for it? I'm not sure what you'd wear on your feet though.

Swedes
Germans on holiday wear Birkenstocks or Adiletten

I have a dirndl outfit for these very occasions (Bavarian bar maid). I get lots of nookie when wearing it, which is a clear advantage. Here is a picture and maybe even a pattern in case you are handy with a needle - I would make the skirt a bit shorter. If the pattern doesn't download they do them in Dept stores as well, or you might be able to hire something.

Some more here but they might be a bit pricey. Sexier though.
