I am so rubbish at this... if you had a living room with cream walls and wooden floors and brown leather sofas, what colour...

I played safe with cream/beige/sand

there is enough colour in the room from books / pictures / cds / crap objets trouvee etc

and DH hates contrived 'schemes' where the cushions match the curtains etc

I like the leaf design, but the first one more.
Or how about this?

LilRedWG · 18/11/2008 11:17

We have these ones from B&Q. They are lovely thick, warm curtains and a lot nicer in real life.

We have wooden floor, brown leather sofas and green walls.

Yes I'm with MrsB on matchy matchy home decor. A bit of ecclecticism and things you love is much more interesting.
(says she whose living room is acessorized with ikea play tent and matching tunnel plus randon selection of toys)

I'll see if I can find a picture to post on my profile so you can see them in situ.

My worry with cream/beige is that the children will get it dirty too quickly? As curtains will be floor-length by french doors which lead directly into the garden, and ds esp is fond of playing hide-and-seek with the curtains.

AFter sleeping on it I still like the leaf design, but am doubtful about the terracotta.

Go for the first leaf design, the terracotta would be too overwhelming for large windows.

emkana · 18/11/2008 12:12

I think I'll get some samples, because it's difficult with the Antique to see if it's more cream or beige or yellowy in the background.
