I am so rubbish at this... if you had a living room with cream walls and wooden floors and brown leather sofas, what colour...

emkana I mean this one cecile antique although maybe with cream walls you would want the contrast of the darker one.

nancy75 · 17/11/2008 23:06

emkana, just looked at the very 1st one, would say def no for big windows, they are too plain, with the terracotta leaf one i would get plain cushions in a couple of the colours on the curtain, maybe some in the back ground orange and some in the beigey colour. sanderson probably do the terracotta material in plain iyswim?

emkana · 17/11/2008 23:07

Ah just spotted this

"Due to the delicate nature of the fabric it is suitable for drapes and cushions only."

only suitable for drapes and cushions - are curtains drapes?

nancy75 · 17/11/2008 23:07

twinset if you can move it a few hundred miles down south ill buy it!

ChasingSquirrels · 17/11/2008 23:07

x-posts!

emkana · 17/11/2008 23:07

Sorry being foreign here are drapes = curtains or something different?

OP posts:
nancy75 · 17/11/2008 23:07

drapes are curtains!

emkana · 17/11/2008 23:08

So what do they mean the material is not suitable for then? [puzzled]

OP posts:
nancy75 · 17/11/2008 23:09

its fine for curtains, probably means you wouldnt be able to cover a sofa in it or anything that would get worn

brimfull · 17/11/2008 23:13

lush fabric

emkana · 17/11/2008 23:14

So a cautious yes to the terracotta leaf design, or does anybody think it's really hideous?

OP posts:
brimfull · 17/11/2008 23:14

no terracotta is dull dull dull

brimfull · 17/11/2008 23:15

it's just more brown diluted with red

twinsetandpearls · 17/11/2008 23:15

If I could move it down south I would be in it muyself!

emkana · 17/11/2008 23:22

I just worry with a more bold pattern that I will tire of it quickly.

Am not one to enjoy changing things too often.

OP posts:
nancy75 · 17/11/2008 23:27

i dont think that material is dull at all, i do know what you mean if you get something really loud the novelty could wear off quite quickly,

emkana · 17/11/2008 23:29

Yes I thought it was quite a classic material? and hoping that it would go with the room in that it is more traditional looking in one part (high ceilings, coving), but more modern in the other part.

OP posts:
nancy75 · 17/11/2008 23:32

it is classic material, and i think with really big windows thats what you really need - my house is the same if we had 10 foot of overly bright curtains it would look awful.

nancy75 · 17/11/2008 23:33

just out of interest have you checked the price of it? i know that sometimes sandersons fabric is ££££'s!

emkana · 17/11/2008 23:34

I think it's about £16.95 a metre or somesuch

OP posts:
nancy75 · 17/11/2008 23:37

i think thats good for their material. if you like it i think you should go for the terracotta, when it comes to accessories remember you can always buy loads of different cushions, try them out with your curtains on your sofas and take back any that dont work. i must have bought 50 cushions before i made my mind up! once you have the big things in place its much easier to choose all the bits to go with it

emkana · 17/11/2008 23:43

I think I better go to bed now.

Thanks for your help everybody!
