Appointment is tomorrow and i am still undecided and starting to panic.
I am torn between keeping it long and having feathering recut round the front and having an inverted long bob maybe something similar to this without fringe ??????
I am driving myself and Furball madas she has tried helping me find some styles but i dont know ahhhhhhhhhhh.
By the way i never go out with my hair up because i hate my ears but in the house it is usually tied up.
Also my hair has a tendency to frizz as soon as i set foot out of the house.

I love Jenny McCarthy's hair in that photo.

At the end of the day it will grow back if you dont like it. I always ask for it as short as it can go but so that I can still tie it up. That way if you dont like it you can put it up until its grown out

Agree with you - A fringe is too much hassle and takes ages to grow out.

Beauregard · 13/11/2008 22:48

Meant to ask about the back of the inverted bob.Would it falli like that naturally once cut or would it need taming under?

lauraloola · 13/11/2008 22:50

Depends how your hair is - Mine has a natural curl so would need a can of hair spray to look nice in an inverted bob.

If yours falls straight you should be fine. Just blow dry it with a small rounded brush and it should stay.

My hair was long and in the spur of the moment, I threw myself on the mercy of a brand new(to me)stylist. It was the best thing I ever did with my hair ~ totally leave it to her!

Beauregard · 13/11/2008 22:52

hmm thats why i was worried about the frizz in my hair.

I think you are incredibly pretty.
I also think that you'd look fab with the style you linked to.
It's a hair style as opposed to just having hair! iykwim.
Go for it. Definitely.

Cadmum · 13/11/2008 22:53

Don't offer to trade then because my DD2 will also be up all freaking night...

No biggy though as she is ONLY 2.9 years old... She will be awake every 2-3 hours if it is anything like every other night of her life.

I am not a big proponent of competitive mothering but it has been... oh... roughly 11/8 years since I had a full night's sleep. (Not that I am counting--MUCH!)

I am not even sure that I remember HOW to sleep through the night myself.

May I just add that you really do look amazing for someone who is tired. You wear it well!

Cadmum · 13/11/2008 22:55

11.8 even...

quickdrawmcgraw · 13/11/2008 22:57

I went for long hair to short in May and got a graduated bob with a bit of a fringe. It was the best thing I did. It wasn't too bad not being able to tie it up because it wasn't nearly as much in my face as my long hair would have been when down.

Go for it!

Beauregard · 14/11/2008 09:16

Will put pic back for a bit for last minute opinions, still undecided Argggggggghhhhhhhhh.

twentypence · 14/11/2008 09:27

I took mine from your length to a chin length bob over the course of a year. A hairdresser cleverly pointed out to me that trying to grow your hair out into different styles looks pretty crap, but if you go through them on the way up they will always look perfect.

I actually asked the hairdresser two days ago to make my hair too short to tie back. because if I can - I do. And it doesn't annoy me at all - that's what ears are for!

LurkerOfTheUniverse · 14/11/2008 09:30

yet another gorgeous mn

your hair is in lovely condition, i think it looks good as it is, not too fussy

you also have lovely eyes

Beauregard · 14/11/2008 10:04

Wish i wasnt so indecisive(?)

OP posts:
RGPargy · 14/11/2008 10:08

What a gorgeous pic!

I would say if you're unsure, go for the feathering and then if you feel brave a few weeks/months down the line, you could go for the style in your OP??

go for bob, I always come out of a hairdressers wishing I'd been braver. If you hate it at least it's winter and you can wear a hat!!

girlandboy · 14/11/2008 11:44

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh..........you have SHINY hair!!

I have NEVER (and I'm shouting here) NEVER EVER EVER had shiny hair....

Beauregard · 14/11/2008 11:58

lol girlandboy i really didnt think it looked shiny.

Kettlechip-Yes i always wish i had been braver at the hairdressers too.I think part of my problem is that i have never been to this hairdresser before so have no idea if they are any good.

OP posts:
quickdrawmcgraw · 14/11/2008 12:00

go for the bob!!!!! It'll grow if you don't like it. I've always had long boring hair and I always tie it back. When I took the plunge and got the bob LOTS of people said how much nicer it was and I was really glad I'd had it done.

It's feels so light and bouncy. It only takes about 4 weeks of growth to be able to put it in a pony tail if you really want to so it's not really a lifetime commitment.

do it do it do it.

Your hair is lovely. I know I am going to sound positively middle ages here, but how does your DP feel about you getting it cut off. I only ask because my long hair is the one thing DP offers unasked opinions about and says he would be v disappointed if I got it all cut off.Anyway I'm sure you will look good whatever you have done, you have good features which could take a sharper cut as well as really suiting what you have.

Please don't flame me anyone for my opinion, am lying on bed recovering from surgery.

Beauregard · 14/11/2008 12:11

Rookie -Hope you are soon on the mend.
I have asked dp and he isnt fussed what i have done.

Omg 2 hours until i go
Still unsure lol,yes and im very annoying arent i.

OP posts:
Dragonbutter · 14/11/2008 12:11

you are byoooooooootiful.

why not go for the different cut if you fancy a change? it's only hair and you can always grow it again if you don't like it.

FWIW i always have a good hair day the day before a hair appointment that makes me wonder whether i need it done at all.
hair does this, just to be a pain.
