Hello everyone, old and new.

This is about feeling better about yourself and looking and feeling better etc. But mainly we chat and laugh quite a lot, which has all got to help towards happiness etc.

The rules (anyone can join):

  • Sunscreen at all times - REALLY mean this now summer is here.
  • No or little booze. Wine or Champagne or whatever at the weekend is allowed if you want it
  • Walking is important, a small amount every day if possible. 30 mins if you can
  • Lots of water, aim for 2 litres a day
  • Apply body cream as often as possible
  • Use hand cream
  • Go to bed early, by 10.30pm if pos
  • Eat healthily
  • Be happy

The idea is that we all feel happier, healthier and glow with the good food, sleep, exercise, water and lack of sun damage.

Some people are doing India and Neris's Idiot Proof Diet (Atkins, more or less), others are doing Slimy World, others are just being as healthy as possible.

Welcome everyone, have a good week.

have spent all afternoon walking along the Thames with the kids picking blackberries and apples (who'd have thought we were in London) and have just finished making a huge dinner of Roast Lamb and roast pots, butternut and flageolet beans and a dinner of our picked blackerries and apples in a pie in a shortcrust pastry. I may never get up from the couch again . I had 5 roast potatoes .

Never mind, tomorrow is another day.

eemie - hope you get a break this weekend.

WideWebWitch · 21/08/2008 20:27

Not much going on here. Tis lovely. Have run and gymmed this week, knee appears to be healed, touch wood, so much so that am considering signing up for a 10k run in October and a 17 mile hike in November. dh is itching to do the coast to coast hike (St Bees to Robin Hoods Bay) 190 miles

Bootcamp has fallen a little by the wayside except for no booze and exercise, but the no booze rule will be broken this weeken - all-u-can-eat Chinese buffet tomorrow and Mum and Dad's Anniversary lunch on Saturday. I've put on half a stone just thinking about it!

WideWebWitch · 22/08/2008 19:08

omg at 190 miles saggars but great aobut your knee.

Today

bacon and scrambled egg
cambozola and chorizo
lobster
more cheese and chorizo
4 sausages

and am drinking wine, obv
not enough water, it's so much harder when I'm at home

vigourous housework this morning

OP posts:
TheDuchessOfNorksBride · 23/08/2008 09:58

saggars - does that mean you'll be back on the runners thread, I'm as lonely over there as www has been here! 190 miles -

www - think how fit you'll get doing all that housework (gawd, I haven't wielded a mop for about 10 years or more!!!!).

I have been good on the exercise part of bootcamp - swimming, short runs, long walks and yesterday and this morning I have been mucking out barrow after barrow of poo from the paddocks. I am hot and sweaty and look like this !

Food also quite good. Lots of water. Moisturiser good. But so many late nights.

Off to farmers market soon, will stock on delicious apple juice, speciality breads and some game.

Batters, we've missed you! Is Marina away too?

That sounds like a lovely break, how nice! I am going to do v v strict too soon, I have been mostly sticking to IPD but a week off meant lots of wine = not good + the odd sweet thing has been passing my lips too oops, I need to go back and do weeks 1 and 2 hardcore again I think. Maybe from Tues I will although I have dinner with a dodgy woman coming up and another dinner engagement in early Sept AND another pos dodgy woman in Sept...

DofN, eww at barrels of poo I suppose that's one of the downsides of living in the darling buds of May

Today

bacon
sausages
black pudding
mushrooms
crab and prawns

and don't know about supper yet but wine obv. Have friends coming for roast tomorrow which will involve lots of wine but will be v lovely.

I just looked at this thread on my way past

and god, WWW, but you eat a lot of sausage

TheDuchessOfNorksBride · 23/08/2008 22:42

Hello batters - bootcamping during the school holidays is a nigh impossible task. Besides, it's your holiday too so a large amount of enjoyment is necessary!

I swanned off alone to the farmers market this morning and bought strawberries, radish, peas in pods, cobnuts, diced venison, a huge plaice, 2 mackerel, a pot of crab pate, a plaited loaf and 2 bottles of apple juice. And then I went to Waitrose! All highly delicious!

I've continued mucking out on and off all day, the muck-heap is almost level with my head! And I have back ache.

Everything else quite good.

Drat it. It's just started raining. I was hoping the forecast would be wrong.

WideWebWitch · 24/08/2008 07:42

I do indeed Capp!

That food sounds lovely DofN

Last night

crab, prawns, anchovies, rollmop herring
chorizo
danish blue, port salut, brie
cava

OP posts:
Saggarmakersbottomknocker · 24/08/2008 08:52

Oh dear - just two days of too much food and drink and I feel rubbish. I'm such a lightweight

Norks - yes - I'm going to blog my runs on the Runners thread I think to motivate me

We had a luagh yesterday at Mum and Dad's anniversary lunch, comparing photos. Their's are timeless black and white, mine have my brother doing a good impression of Bob Carolgees in a pale blue suit, white shoes and a huge moustache, rofl!!

Hello Capp - are you going to stick around?

Saggarmakersbottomknocker · 24/08/2008 08:55

Oh and welcome back from your hols batters. Hopefully all the other AWOL bootcampers will be back when the chilldren return to school.

And proud mum moment - dd did a Science GCSE in year 9 and got a B!

Cappuccino · 24/08/2008 09:36

I might do

but you all sound to eat v glamorous things, I don't think I can keep up

rollmop herring fgs

WWW do you ever eat any carbs?

Cappuccino · 24/08/2008 09:37

I mean for instance last night I had chicken pasta salad

that's not going to cut it, is it?

TheDuchessOfNorksBride · 24/08/2008 10:49

Oh clever DD saggars!!! That's fantastic! I did English O level at 14 (also a B) but Science is much harder!

capp - www & suzywong are on the carb free India & Neris diet. Everyone else here is normal.

I'm having a Hugh Fearnley-type of morning. It's all been chicken management and bartering my eggs for the neighbours veg. So for lunch we're now having roast chicken, roast potatoes, wild mushroom & rice stuffing, peas, carrots, french & runner beans. Apple & blackberry crumble for pudding I think.

Coffee and croissants beckon...

WideWebWitch · 24/08/2008 11:18

Hello all

No Capp, I don't do carbs. The odd bit of sugar has passed my lips since May 5th but not one single potato or piece of bread (hmm, maybe ONE piece of bread when we were away)

OP posts:
WideWebWitch · 24/08/2008 11:19

Haven't weighed myself since the d & v but someone at work on Friday said "you've lost weight" and dh said "you look thinner" so I will wait until I've done another hardcore 2 weeks on weeks 1 and 2 of IPD (not even caffeine!) and then will weigh again.

OP posts:
Cappuccino · 24/08/2008 12:19

not even caffeine?

well my goal is just to be a bit healthier, to do my yoga more, eat less crap and not drink as much

I have bought some Divine dark choc and am allowed 2 squares a day

I am still recovering from ME - I have had a bit of a crash today - so I'm not doing anything drastic

I have moisturised today tho. Often I forget . You will keep me on track, I'm sure

If you see me passing, shout DRINK WATER and DO YOGA at me, if you don't mind

WWW May 5 is a long time. Are you dieting to diet, or are you dieting for a health reason (sorry if am nosy, tell me to eff off if nec.)

Saggarmakersbottomknocker · 24/08/2008 13:16

Capp - I think we'd be just the thread for you, we're very gentle & kind

I don't post my food (other than to say I've eaten too much)- it's carbtastic despite my best efforts! I kid myself I need them to keep up with the running but tis not true. I've decided to let it all hang out food/drink wise until we start back at school.

WideWebWitch · 24/08/2008 13:16

I am dieting because I really, really, really want to be a size 14 again, which suits me and is the size I was when I met dh.

I have lost 1.5 stone so far
loads to go
