after reading a few threads on here its got me thinking,
if people can't stand to see other or children in certain clothes what do they think about non make up wearing women?

Lol LL

I expressed my opinion on women wearing or not wearing makeup on a thread discussing women wearing/not wearing makeup. Nothing in my posts mentioned you at all.

RedHead81 · 31/07/2008 20:57

I'm 27 next week and no wrinkles - never used moisturiser as opposed to my friends of the same age who use moisturiser and have wrinkles already - I think if you are going to get them, no amount of moisturiser will stop them! Staying away from the sunbeds help - My mum is 47 and also never used moisturiser and she looks in her early 30's When I was pregnant with my 1st, at 23yrs I got asked for ID in the supermarket when buying asprin for my uncle and last year aged 25 I got asked for ID on my hen night!

Gobbledigook · 31/07/2008 20:58

I think they either look great and don't need it and they are incredibly lucky, or I think 'bugger, you need some slap on'.

ExterminAitch · 31/07/2008 20:58

oh go shave yer toes, hecate. [mysogynist]

Gobbledigook · 31/07/2008 20:59

Well I wear make up all the time - I got asked for ID in Sainbury's about a month ago when buying wine. I am 35 and have 3 children.

I think you'll find I'm a FEMINIST!!! Makeup is a feminist issue!

lol @ drunk!

themoon66 · 31/07/2008 21:05

when I was young I wore make up to try and look older (and get served in pubs).

Now I'm old I wear make up to look younger.

I've just this moment realised what a weird bugger I am

MummyToOneForNow · 31/07/2008 21:05

I don't wear make up - tried to occasionally when younger but never really felt right - increasingly think it seems a bit odd to feel you have paint your face to make yourself look different. Dh says it is one of the things that attracted him to me

Gobbledigook · 31/07/2008 21:06

Har de har.

Actually I'm always told I look younger than I am. As is my mother.

I'm not really bothered if I do tbh - I'm happy with looking my age and good at my age iyswim.

Booboobedoo · 31/07/2008 21:11

I like make-up.

I have strong features and pale skin, and it softens up the harder bits and generally makes me look (and feel) much yummier.

Wear a tiny bit of concealer day-to-day, but thassit.

I don't feel oppressed...

Gobbledigook · 31/07/2008 21:12

Oh oppressed my arse!
I do what I want to - not what anyone else wants me to. I'm a big girl now.

ranting · 31/07/2008 21:16

Well I wear make up, not lots and rarely at the weekend but I do wear a bit of eyeliner and mascara and I am a red lippy girl. Look farking washed out without it on (the lippy). Mind you as I have to coat my face in factor 30 to avoid burning, I see no need for foundation.

ranting · 31/07/2008 21:18

Can't say I ever notice if other women have it on, byproduct of being totally self absorbed

2loudboys · 31/07/2008 21:18

I prefer the way I look with a little bit of basic make-up (tinted moisturizer, blusher, concealer, eyeliner, liptint). But I definitely think no make-up is miles better than too much make-up or bad make-up (lipliner darker than lipstick anyone???)

lovelysongbird · 31/07/2008 21:20

sorry was doing chores!

well i used to wear make up almost everyday when i worked, for the last year and a half i havent hardly worn make up.
my skin is great now. and its like now i don't need it, although i may of just got used to the wll scrubbed look.
i don't moisture either
just use olay face wash

if was to wear make up to go out id wear a small amount of blusher mascara eye liner and lip gloss natural lookiing.
red lipstick would make me look like a clown.

i certainly do not judge anyone for either wearing make up or not.
just though alot of people on here would.

I'm sorry to hear about your arse Gobbledigook.

Elasticwoman · 31/07/2008 21:23

My dh said a funny thing about make up today. He doesn't usually comment about my appearance - well, not above the neck anyway.
But today he said that X (another woman in our neighbourhood) is younger than me but looks older. I said what makes her look older? He said, she wears more make up than you do.

Wouldn't that make her look younger?

I sometimes wear no make up, sometimes wear a fair bit though try not to look like a panda.

girlnextdoor · 31/07/2008 21:24

redhead- you are partly right- it is down to genes- but hey, at 27 you shouldn't have any wrinkles!

I am older than your mum and don't have any either lol!

And I put it all down to staying well out of the sun, and slapping on the slap, to give my skin some protection.

preggersplayspop · 31/07/2008 21:25

I wear very little now. I used to wear a bit to work but now it feels weird on my face when I put it on.

It hadn't even entered my head before that people could be looking at me wondering why I wasn't wearing any!!!

MsHighwater · 31/07/2008 21:28

I wear less make up as I get older, I find. Moisturiser with SPF15, a little eyeliner, mascara and lipgloss. I think I look better with and so I choose to wear it.

Having said that, I hugely admire Tilda Swinton, who wears no makeup - even to the Oscars.

NorthernLurker · 31/07/2008 21:34

I don't wear make-up. Having read that it takes some posters between 2 and 15 minutes I'm hugely relieved - I do not have that kind of time!
